Chapter 34: Divine Intervention
Han Xue stole a glance at the security captain’s sinister expression, sending chills down Fang Xiaocao’s spine.
Her first instinct was that Han Xue was using these men as pawns to do her dirty work. This woman was absolutely ruthless.
“Han Xue, you’re truly venomous.”
Fang Xiaocao was now certain—Han Xue must have some kind of terrifying contagious disease.
As the security captain approached with the liquor bottle, step by step, Fang Xiaocao felt her heart sink.
She absolutely could not drink that.
But escaping this predicament was proving to be a challenge.
Her mind raced with possibilities before her eyes landed on Han Xue.
Suddenly, Fang Xiaocao burst into laughter.
“Hahaha…”
She laughed so hard that she curled up on the sofa, gasping for breath.
Her abrupt outburst left everyone in the room stunned, their faces filled with confusion.
Even Han Xue, who had been so certain of her victory, was caught off guard, unsure of what game Fang Xiaocao was playing.
“Oh no, did Xiaocao lose her mind from fear?” Su Wanqing worriedly thought.
“What are you laughing at?” Han Xue asked, frowning.
“I’m laughing at you. At him, too.” Fang Xiaocao smirked, lounging back on the sofa.
Han Xue blinked in surprise.
The security captain, baffled, pointed at himself. “Me? What did I do?”
Before Fang Xiaocao could continue, Han Xue’s expression changed drastically.
“Shut up! Hold her down and pour the drink down her throat!” she shrieked.
“Got it! Boys, grab her!” the security captain ordered, chuckling.
He had a recording in his possession, so he wasn’t worried about Han Xue playing tricks. In the worst case, it’d be mutual destruction.
“Damn it, can’t you at least let me finish talking?” Fang Xiaocao muttered as she swiftly leaped from the sofa.
She had already been prepared—her pepper spray was instantly deployed.
“Arghhh!”
The two guards leading the charge screamed in agony, clutching their faces and stumbling back.
“Wait, let me finish!” Fang Xiaocao shouted.
“Finish my ass! Get her!” the security captain roared.
“Han Xue has a disease! A contagious one!” Fang Xiaocao yelled, pointing straight at her.
Silence.
A heavy stillness fell over the room.
Everyone’s expressions froze as if someone had hit pause.
The guards exchanged uneasy glances.
The security captain’s face twitched as he looked at Han Xue.
Su Wanqing and Yun Luoshu gawked in shock.
Fang Xiaocao took a deep breath, relieved. “Good, that worked.”
“Don’t listen to her! She’s making it up!” Han Xue screeched, her face contorted in rage.
She had been exposed.
“You better explain yourself!” the security captain growled.
His sharp eyes locked onto Han Xue, and his entire demeanor screamed that he was ready to resort to violence at any moment.
The guards’ faces turned pale.
“This woman is insane!”
“If she really has something…”
“We’re all doomed!”
They were already beginning to regret their actions.
“Hehehe~”
Han Xue suddenly giggled, casting a sultry look at the security captain.
“You actually believe her?” she cooed.
She had regained her composure, her allure returning in full force.
Han Xue gracefully reclined on the sofa, her short skirt shifting naturally. The sight had the security captain gulping.
Trailing a finger along her curves, she asked in a sweet voice, “How long have you been working for Brother Shen?”
The security captain blinked, confused. “Eight years.”
“Eight years, huh?” Han Xue repeated, pouting playfully.
“Then you should know his habits, right?”
She stretched her body slightly, emphasizing her perfect figure.
The security captain was already too dazed to think properly. His eyes followed her every move.
“If I really had a disease, do you think Brother Shen wouldn’t have noticed?”
Han Xue slipped off one of her high heels and casually tossed it toward him.
He instinctively caught it, looking at her with the eagerness of a dog awaiting a treat.
“Well? What are you waiting for?”
Han Xue cast him a sideways glance, her voice a seductive whisper.
“Boys, get them!” the security captain barked.
Lust clouds judgment.
If even heroes fall to beauty, what chance did a mere thug like him have?
The guards’ hesitation evaporated, replaced by their previous lecherous grins. They charged toward Fang Xiaocao and the others.
Fang Xiaocao blindly sprayed her pepper spray in all directions, but amidst the chaos, a sharp kick sent her tumbling onto the sofa, clutching her stomach in pain.
Yun Luoshu smashed a beer bottle over a guard’s head. He howled in pain and collapsed, but before she could follow up, two others tackled her, groping her in the struggle.
Su Wanqing attempted to use her so-called “women’s self-defense techniques”—and was instantly taken down. Her clothes were torn in the scuffle.
The room echoed with the guards’ disgusting laughter.
Han Xue sipped her wine, watching the scene unfold with a satisfied smirk.
“Don’t forget about the drink.” she reminded them, her voice laced with cruel amusement.
Hearing that, the security captain grabbed the liquor bottle and approached Fang Xiaocao.
“Let’s start with you.” He grinned wickedly.
He grabbed her jaw, forcing her mouth open.
“BANG!”
The private room’s door burst open with a thunderous crash.
Everyone turned toward the entrance.
A young woman stood in the doorway, clad in a white fitted suit, her short hair framing an expression of icy determination.
Her sharp gaze swept across the room.
When her eyes landed on Fang Xiaocao, her lips curled slightly.
Fang Xiaocao’s eyes sparkled with relief.
“Zhi Qi!” she called out.
Zhi Qi had come!
Just like in the orphanage—whenever she was bullied, Zhi Qi would always appear, like a hero descending from the heavens, chasing the villains away.
Tears welled in Fang Xiaocao’s eyes.
Behind Zhi Qi stood over a dozen bodyguards in sleek black suits. At her side was Shen Tao, once an arrogant bigshot, now looking utterly subservient, a fawning smile plastered on his face.
“Attack.”
Zhi Qi’s voice was soft but carried an undeniable authority.
Her eyes were like frozen steel—except when she looked at Fang Xiaocao, where they softened with warmth.
At her command, the bodyguards stormed into the room.
The security guards barely had time to react before they were mercilessly subdued.
Han Xue screamed as one of the bodyguards yanked her by the hair, dragging her off the sofa and onto her knees.
Shen Tao tried to speak but was swiftly kicked to the ground by a towering bodyguard.
“Who gave you permission to talk in the presence of the young miss?”
The guard’s foot pressed down hard on Shen Tao’s face, his voice laced with disdain.
