Chapter 144: Foreseeing the Future, the Prophet?
In Su Ning’s line of sight, the most common monsters were the giant crabs.
You You (the tiger) started drooling at the mouth just seeing them—clearly still savoring the taste of the giant crab meat from earlier.
Su Ning chuckled as she looked at You You.
“Alright, alright—I’ll store some giant crabs in the space for you.”
You You instantly perked up with excitement.
Meanwhile, the monsters stirred restlessly at Su Ning’s arrival.
A giant crab lunged toward her—but Su Ning didn’t even raise a hand.
Hong Hong (the bird) crackled with electricity and flew toward the swarm of crabs gathering.
Giant crabs: Oh no! It’s coming for us!
After a loud ZAP, a heap of giant crabs collapsed to the ground.
—
Back near the cave entrance, where Lin Lele and the others were resting, Huang Zhenggang suddenly lifted his head, his senses alert.
“Did you guys just hear something?” he asked.
Lin Lele twirled her hair lazily, “Hear what? Isn’t it just the thunder and wind from the storm outside?”
Nan Sheng looked puzzled too. “I only heard the wind and thunder—it’s still going strong. No idea how long this storm is going to last.”
Huang Zhenggang scratched his head. “Really? Maybe I imagined it…”
He glanced deeper into the cave, suspicious. He could’ve sworn the noise came from inside.
“Oh well. Let’s just get some rest.”
—
Back in the depths, Su Ning continued harvesting giant crabs.
She placed the dead ones into her Scavenger’s Backpack, which only took up one inventory slot no matter how many were inside. The living ones, she put into her space storage to raise later.
You You happily devoured the roasted giant crab meat.
And with each bite, Su Ning noticed something incredible—You You was growing bigger. What was once the size of a kitten had now grown to the size of a golden retriever.
Its fur was incredibly soft, so much so that Su Ning thought:
“At this rate, if You You keeps growing, I won’t need a blanket anymore—I’ll just sleep on it.”
Thanks to Hong Hong’s thunderous attacks, the remaining crabs realized Su Ning was no easy prey. They scurried away into the narrower tunnels.
Su Ning figured she had collected more than enough for now—plenty for her and You You to feast on for days. Plus, the ones she’d caught alive could be raised in her spatial farm.
Now, her attention turned to two other monsters hiding in the corners of the cave: Pearl Armored Clam; Green Algae Turtle.
Neither had any desire to fight. As Su Ning approached, both backed away quickly, giving her a clear “do not approach” vibe.
According to her data: The clam had high defense; The turtle was a producer—it constantly generated edible green algae.
“Hmm… I wonder if the Pearl Clam’s shell could be turned into a useful defensive weapon?”
She had Hong Hong give them a little electric “therapy” as a test, but she didn’t waste time observing the results.
Just like with the crabs, she started collecting: Dead ones went into the scavenger bag.
Live ones went into her space for farming.
The Green Algae Turtle, in particular, was more useful alive than dead, and could be harvested sustainably. Su Ning couldn’t bear to harm them.
They were completely non-aggressive, so she scooped up over ten live turtles and stored them safely.
After she finished her gathering, she picked up a few more crabs that You You had roasted and hurried back to camp.
—
When Su Ning returned, Lin Lele visibly relaxed. “You’re finally back.”
Su Ning tossed a few more crab carcasses onto the fire and roasted them for the group.
With everyone now present, Huang Zhenggang started discussing plans. “Let’s figure out how to handle our rest shifts.”
They decided on a two-person rotating night watch.
Soon, Su Ning laid down on You You’s soft body and drifted off to sleep.
Though it appeared she was sleeping defenselessly, high up on the cave’s rock ceiling, several Jade Hornets clung quietly, ready to strike if danger approached.
Outside, the storm raged on.
But the howling wind and constant thunder soon became white noise, lulling Su Ning into a deep sleep.
—
The next day, the world was eerily quiet.
Su Ning opened her eyes and saw everyone else still asleep around her.
She got up and stepped outside the cave.
The scene beyond was devastated—ruins everywhere. Trees lay flattened like they’d been hit by a typhoon.
“Nighttime in this dungeon is terrifying,” she thought.
Just then, a voice cried out behind her.
Su Ning turned to see Nan Sheng emerging from the cave.
One by one, the rest of the group also woke up and stepped outside, staring at the transformed island.
“What do we do now?” Lin Lele yawned.
Huang Zhenggang was deep in thought. “If storms like that happen every night, we’ll need to change our strategy. First, we need to find a proper shelter to hide in at night.”
The caves weren’t completely safe. With their complicated twists and turns, who knew what kind of monsters lurked inside?
And based on the communications from other players, they knew this instance likely contained intelligent monsters as well.
They returned to the beach they had occupied the day before.
Their coconuts were long gone, and the coconut grove had been wrecked by the storm.
In the shattered remains of the forest, Su Ning found a relatively intact coconut tree and stashed it into her space inventory. Given the chaos, no one would notice.
Suddenly—
“Nan Sheng! Is that… a person lying on the beach?” Lin Lele called out.
While scavenging for supplies, she had casually glanced at the shoreline—only to spot a man lying unconscious in the sand.
She and Nan Sheng rushed over, with Su Ning close behind.
Nan Sheng flipped the man over.
The moment they saw his face, both girls gasped.
Lin Lele exclaimed, “Oh my heavenly god—how can a man be this good-looking?! Is he trying to seduce me?”
Nan Sheng: …
Su Ning: …
The two of them covered their faces in embarrassment.
But Lin Lele wasn’t wrong—the man’s appearance was almost otherworldly.
In the misty starlight, his delicate features stood out—lips as elegant as cherry blossoms, skin as smooth as porcelain. Even though he was unconscious and a bit battered, he had the look of a beautifully tragic young man.
Frankly, even most men might’ve fallen for him.
Su Ning felt her cheeks redden. Some not-so-wholesome but incredibly addictive comics came to mind…
She activated her Scavenger’s Eye to check his data.
[Player: Pei Xuan’an]

Su Ning’s eyes widened in shock at his profile.
Especially when she saw the talent “Foresee the Future.”
She immediately grew curious about his identity.
“Foreseeing the future? Could he be the mysterious Prophet everyone mentioned in the communication channel?”
But if he was the Prophet—how had he ended up like this?
