Chapter 153: Wutong High School 12
If it didn’t pose a threat to her, Chu Yian didn’t mind helping someone out and building good karma.
“Did you see a volunteer in a blue uniform earlier?”
She asked.
Rule 6: The school does not have a Psychological Diagnosis Room. When you see a Psychological Diagnosis Room, you must believe it is an illusion. If the diagnosis room continues to exist after five seconds, please stay put and do not move. A volunteer in a blue uniform will come to help. Do not speak during this time, until you return to the correct path. Upon returning to the correct path, throw the handbook at the feet of the monkey statue and wait for it to burn to ashes before leaving.
According to Rule 6, blue-uniformed volunteers can lead them out.
“We did, but…”
The boy looked at the delicate-looking girl beside him, and neither finished their sentence.
They must have had some useful item that made the figures in the mist and the blue-uniformed volunteers ignore them. Otherwise, there’s no way to explain why they could survive outside the Psychological Diagnosis Room for so long.
“Alright, well, I don’t have a handbook now, so I’m in a tougher spot than you, but that doesn’t stop me from seeing a good deed through to the end.”
Chu Yian deliberately mentioned her lack of a handbook, then continued, “You’ve taken the wrong path. The road behind you is the main road to the dormitories. The blue-uniformed volunteers are there to guide you to the correct path. Since you didn’t follow them, you’ll have to find your own way now.
However, this might be a good thing, because according to Rule 6, when you return to the normal path, you must have a student handbook in hand and throw it at the monkey statue to burn before you can leave.
Since you don’t have a handbook, you can’t follow the rule, and the blue-uniformed volunteer might not necessarily help you then.”
She quickly told them, “My suggestion is for you to quickly go back the way you came and then rush to the dormitory management center as fast as possible. You might encounter dangers along the way, but there’s one rule that’s in your favor.
Rule 8: If you don’t have the student handbook, you can ask a nearby person in black to do one thing for you.”
The two players had been bewildered since entering the school gate, and suddenly hearing so many rules was quite a shock.
“But since you know so much, why are you here?”
The boy was more cautious than the girl; he didn’t completely trust Chu Yian’s words.
Chu Yian shook her head at his words; since the game began, trust between people had diminished.
“The student handbook is the most vital item for survival. You’d best find two student handbooks at all costs. Once you find a student handbook and see the later rules, you’ll understand why I’m here.”
“Let’s go, I don’t think this girl is lying to us.”
The girl tugged the boy’s arm and thanked her, “We have another companion inside. If he’s still alive… could you tell him what you just said?”
This girl was much cuter than the boy.
Chu Yian looked at the girl, not saying that her teammate might already be dead, “We’ll see if we run into him.”
After saying this, she suddenly paused, “Among the players, you need to be careful of someone named Bai Sinian. Although he has at least three player handbooks, he is insidious, cunning, and powerful. Do not try to rob him unless you have enough people.”
Chu Yian left after speaking.
In that instant, her silhouette seemed to grow taller in the girl’s eyes. “She’s really a good person.”
The good person Chu Yian wasn’t feeling cheerful despite digging a pit for Bai Sinian. She felt immense pressure looking at the pitch-black, unlit Psychological Diagnosis Room.
She needed to go in, but what after that?
Chu Yian was filled with worry. As soon as she placed her hand on the doorknob, it opened with a gentle push.
It was pitch black inside.
The hall carried the smell of disinfectant.
She moved quietly along the wall, her right hand clutching the piece of paper torn from the student handbook, and her left hand constantly fumbling along the wall, searching for the light switch.
The fear in one’s heart greatly diminishes in the light.
She murmured to herself, but her fingers touched a long, cylindrical, warm object in the darkness.
Damn it!
Chu Yian flinched in fright, jumping two meters towards the door, but then heard a ‘click,’ and the light was turned on by someone else. What she had touched earlier wasn’t some ghostly thing, but a person’s hand.
Besides black and blue, there was now another color of NPC in the school: white.
The lighting in the Psychological Diagnosis Room wasn’t great, but the dim light was enough for her to clearly see the NPC beside her.
The person was tall and wore reflective glasses.
He was completely covered from head to toe, but his pure white clothes were stained with streaks of fresh red blood. He looked gentle and refined, but definitely not harmless.
He said nothing, glanced at Chu Yian, and then walked towards the diagnosis room inside.
The NPCs in this round were all like this, so Chu Yian didn’t think there was anything wrong. She glanced at the crumpled paper in her hand, already damp with sweat, and still followed him.
The diagnosis room was very small.
One meter wide, three meters deep. There was nothing but two chairs and a table. The dark brown walls looked like dried, congealed blood, making it incredibly oppressive.
The white-clad NPC stood outside, looking at her without speaking, but his meaning was clear.
Sit down.
In this situation, she had no retreat. Chu Yian slowly moved inside, her other hand caressing the treasure box graphic in her palm.
“Clap”—
The person placed a test paper in front of her, then took out a timer that began counting down: 10 minutes!
Coming to the Psychological Diagnosis Room was for taking a test, and she had to finish the answers within 10 minutes.
Chu Yian looked at the test paper, which was titled: National College Student Psychological Assessment Test.
Pass: 90 points.
Did it mean she could only leave if she scored 90 points?
She picked up the pen and quickly scanned the questions:
Question 1: What color is the subway ticket to Wutong University?
Question 2: Are there monkeys in the school?
Question 3: Are there Dormitory Buildings 3 and 4 in the school?
…They were all questions related to this round of the game, a total of 20 questions, each worth 5 points. Many questions were relatively simple, and Chu Yian answered them quickly.
But some questions were very difficult, leaving Chu Yian ambivalent.
Question 14: The school keeps many animals. Do they include monkeys?
Question 17: Which truly exists in the school: blue-uniformed volunteers or black-uniformed volunteers?
Question 20: Does a Psychological Diagnosis Room exist in the school?
Because Chu Yian had eaten the memory bread, she had memorized the rules perfectly. But precisely because she knew them so well, she didn’t dare to write down answers carelessly now.
How should she answer?
