Chapter 110: Young Master Hasn’t Been This Happy in a Long Time
Taking a puppy on a trip wasn’t exactly an easy task, and Xu Youyou couldn’t bear the thought of putting Guai Guai in the pet cargo hold.
So, they took a private jet for this trip.
Ever since she got this plane, Xu Youyou had barely used it. This was not only the jet’s first trip to the capital but also Xu Youyou’s first time going there.
Unlike the bustling departure hall, they took a private passage, breezing through security in under ten minutes. The surroundings were especially quiet.
Assistant Liu chuckled, “Private jets really save a lot of hassle. Even if you’re in first class on a commercial flight, there’s always someone typing away on a laptop next to you, making it impossible to get any proper sleep.”
Clearly, he was speaking from personal experience. Assistant Liu had spent years shuttling back and forth between Shanghai and the capital.
The Shanghai-to-capital flight route was often called the “workhorse route.” Whether in economy or first class, there were always people glued to their laptops, working with serious expressions. Even in their downtime, they radiated an air of tension.
Assistant Liu thought he could finally relax this time, but his joy didn’t last long. The plane hadn’t even taken off before he got a call—one of his subordinates had messed up. As a leader, he had no choice but to turn into a workhorse himself, grabbing his laptop and rushing to the onboard meeting room to work.
Xie Ran, who was traveling with Xu Youyou, had a similar vibe—his eyes barely left his laptop screen. It didn’t look like he was on a flight; it looked more like he had just moved his office to a new location.
Meanwhile, Xu Youyou, upon boarding, went straight to the main bedroom. She wasn’t actually sleepy—she just preferred lying down. A flight attendant had just brought her a glass of champagne, and a cinema-grade projector screen was set up in front of her.
Xu Youyou leisurely picked out a classic comedy, took a sip of champagne, and almost forgot she was on a plane—it felt just like being at home.
Lu Jingyao had originally wanted to chat with Xu Youyou for a bit, but when he saw that she had already made herself comfortable, he sighed and reluctantly went into the small conference room to deal with work.
While some lazed around and others worked hard, Guai Guai was having the time of his life. It was the little dog’s first time on a plane, and he stared out of the window at the clouds for a full thirty minutes.
Once he had had enough of cloud-watching, he began exploring the plane, alternating between snuggling up to Xu Youyou, bothering Lu Jingyao, and creating minor disturbances for Assistant Liu.
Eventually, an exhausted Xie Ran couldn’t take it anymore and shut the small conference room door in Guai Guai’s face.
Getting shut out didn’t dampen Guai Guai’s spirits at all. He happily kept running around until he discovered that the flight attendants had prepared a special in-flight meal just for him. From that moment on, his tail never stopped wagging.
Xu Youyou finished watching her two-hour movie just as the plane landed at the capital’s airport.
The moment she stepped out of the bedroom, Guai Guai excitedly ran toward her.
“Woof woof! You’re the best hooman ever! I love you the most! Traveling is amazing!” Guai Guai barked joyfully, blinking his bright eyes in an irresistibly cute way.
Xu Youyou patted his head, feeling a little guilty. Seeing how easily he was pleased, she promised, “I’ll try to take you on trips more often.”
Guai Guai tilted his head and nuzzled against her hand.
Xu Youyou’s heart melted.
The nanny, Aunt Liu, who was in charge of taking care of Guai Guai, was practically in tears. “Miss Xu, Young Master Guai Guai hasn’t been this happy in so long. Thank you so much for bringing him along!”
Xu Youyou: …That sounded so weird.
Aunt Liu, seemingly Guai Guai’s personal butler, continued reporting on his emotional state: “Miss Xu, you don’t know this, but at home, even though Guai Guai eats three big bowls per meal, he’s actually not happy at all. Only when he’s traveling with you is he truly joyful.”
Xu Youyou glanced at the chubby little dog. She let Aunt Liu’s words go in one ear and out the other—she simply couldn’t imagine an unhappy dog still managing to scarf down three whole bowls of food. “As long as he’s happy, that’s what matters.”
Aunt Liu, fully embracing her role as Guai Guai’s dedicated caretaker, went on dramatically, “Today is such a big day! It’s Guai Guai’s first time flying! His first time eating an in-flight meal!”
As she spoke, she snapped countless pictures of the dog, and Guai Guai actually cooperated enthusiastically.
When they got off the plane, Aunt Liu became even more over-the-top: “It’s Guai Guai’s first time in the capital! This is such a historic day!”
Guai Guai proudly lifted his head and strutted forward with confidence.
Behind him, Aunt Liu followed closely, phone in hand, snapping away like a crazed paparazzo.
Once they got into the car that had come to pick them up, Aunt Liu leaned over and said, “Miss Xu, someone recommended this amazing app to me! You can share pet photos on it. I’ll send you the registration link—once you sign up, you can see all of Guai Guai’s adorable pictures anytime!”
Xu Youyou didn’t think much of it at first—until she saw the message in the chat:
“[Link] Guai Guai’s Mom, I’m using the QinqinBaby app to record Guai Guai’s growth! Come follow us!”
Xu Youyou frowned slightly. “QinqinBaby? Isn’t that an app for sharing baby photos?”
Aunt Liu nodded. “Exactly! Lots of people use it to post pictures of their little ones. Once you upload them, your whole family can see them instantly. It’s super convenient! That way, even when you’re traveling, you can always check in on Guai Guai. Every picture is adorable!”
Xu Youyou felt even weirder about it. She tried to rationalize it—after all, fur babies were still babies, right? If you really stretched the definition… maybe Aunt Liu wasn’t completely off track…?
After registering, Xu Youyou was bombarded with hundreds of dog videos and thousands of photos. She couldn’t hold back her shock and turned to look at Aunt Liu.
At that moment, Aunt Liu was still excitedly exclaiming, “Wow! The car even has Wi-Fi! That’s so fancy!”
This car had been rented before their trip, and it came with onboard Wi-Fi that didn’t require a password. Aunt Liu’s phone connected automatically, and she immediately began uploading more pictures and videos.
“My phone is getting really laggy,” Aunt Liu frowned.
Thinking that older folks sometimes struggled with technology, Xu Youyou offered, “Let me take a look.”
Aunt Liu’s phone was a budget smartphone with only a few apps installed. However, it was lagging so badly that every action stuttered. That was definitely not normal.
“My daughter just bought me this phone last month! How can it already be this slow? These electronic devices are all scams!” Aunt Liu muttered in frustration.
Xu Youyou checked the storage and saw that 99% of it was used up. She then found dozens of gigabytes of photos and videos—nearly all of them of Guai Guai.
She glanced at Aunt Liu, who was still passionately complaining about phone manufacturers.
Xu Youyou: …
