Chapter 71: First Hypnosis
Half an Hour Later!
A faint snoring sound reached her ears.
Fang Xiaocao turned her head and saw that Wen Shi and Su Wanqing had already fallen asleep.
Seeing this, she smiled, carefully crawling out of her sleeping bag.
It was time to act!
Seizing the opportunity while “Yun Luoshu” was alone, Fang Xiaocao decided to take care of him first.
She reached into her pocket, feeling the cool handle of her spring knife, which reassured her.
Taking a deep breath, she pulled open the tent door and stepped outside.
“Yun Luoshu” looked up in surprise.
“You’re up?” he asked curiously.
“I slept too much earlier. Now I can’t fall back asleep,” Fang Xiaocao replied casually, sitting down across from him by the campfire.
“Do you want to take the first watch instead?” he suggested.
“No need. The shifts were already assigned. Changing them now would upset the others,” she said with a smile, tossing another stick into the fire.
“Yun Luoshu” narrowed his eyes slightly, studying her.
Fang Xiaocao lifted her gaze, meeting his eyes directly.
“Luoshu, do you think my eyes are beautiful?” she asked, smiling enchantingly.
“They’re… beautiful…” he mumbled, his mind momentarily dazed.
“If they’re beautiful, you should look at them more,” she said in a mesmerizing voice.
“Okay…” he murmured, his expression struggling.
“Do you like my eyes?” she continued, holding his gaze.
“Like…” The struggle on his face gradually faded.
Snap!
Fang Xiaocao snapped her fingers. “You’re sinking into the abyss, and my eyes will be your guiding light.”
“Okay…” “Yun Luoshu” responded sluggishly.
“Now, hand over your gun,” she instructed in a low voice.
“Okay~” He expressionlessly reached into his coat and pulled out a homemade pistol, handing it over.
Fang Xiaocao took the gun, checked it—it was loaded but the safety was still on.
She tucked it close to her body and asked, “Tell me, where did you get this gun?”
“It was issued by the organization~” “Yun Luoshu” answered obediently.
“What organization?” Fang Xiaocao’s heart tightened as she pursued the question.
So, my guess was right. There’s an organization behind them.
“Organization…” “Yun Luoshu” hesitated, his face showing resistance.
“Don’t be afraid. I will protect you,” she reassured.
“Okay~” His expression eased.
“What’s the name of your organization?” she continued.
“Black List…” he finally responded after a brief struggle.
“And the mask on your face—where did it come from?”
“A craftsman made it,” he answered.
“Craftsman—is that a codename?” she asked with a frown.
“Yes. The organization trains artisans. Each generation… has only one craftsman.”
“Did the craftsman also make the guns?”
“Yes…”
“You’re very obedient,” Fang Xiaocao praised him with a smile.
“Princess, receiving your praise is my greatest honor,” he said, his face lighting up with joy.
“In that case, my loyal knight, would you be willing to summon your tentmate for your princess?” she asked sweetly.
“It would be my honor!”
With that, Yun Luoshu stood up and headed toward Wan Xiaozhou’s tent.
Seeing this, Fang Xiaocao smirked.
She pulled out the homemade gun, flipped off the safety, and followed silently, disappearing into the darkness near the tent.
“Yun Luoshu” reached the tent, opened it mechanically, and nudged “Wan Xiaozhou.”
“Wan Xiaozhou” woke up instantly, looking toward the entrance.
Seeing “Yun Luoshu,” she let out a breath of relief.
“What is it?” she asked, frowning.
“Come outside,” he whispered.
“Wan Xiaozhou” hesitated, eyeing him suspiciously.
“Hurry up!” “Yun Luoshu” urged.
She glanced at Zhi Qi, who was still breathing steadily in sleep, then relaxed and carefully crawled out of her sleeping bag.
“Yun Luoshu” turned and walked away.
Seeing this, “Wan Xiaozhou” followed, her heart full of questions.
“What’s going on?” she asked as she caught up.
“The princess is waiting for you!” “Yun Luoshu” said in a low voice, turning to face her.
“The princess?” “Wan Xiaozhou” was stunned.
“Crab, did you lose your mind? Since when did Athena start looking for me?” she scoffed.
“Oh, so your organization also has an ‘Athena’?”
A voice suddenly rang out behind her.
“Wan Xiaozhou” stiffened, then spun around in shock, her dagger already in hand.
The moment she turned, her scalp went numb.
A black gun barrel was nearly pressed against her face.
“Drop the knife, or I can’t guarantee this gun won’t go off,” Fang Xiaocao said with a smile.
Gulp.
“Wan Xiaozhou” swallowed nervously.
“My knight, would you be so kind as to disarm this gentleman for your princess?” Fang Xiaocao addressed “Yun Luoshu” playfully.
So, from their conversation, this fake Wan Xiaozhou is actually a man in disguise.
“Gladly!”
With that, “Yun Luoshu” swiftly advanced on “Wan Xiaozhou.”
While “Wan Xiaozhou” was still in shock, “Yun Luoshu” drove a fist into his stomach, seizing both the dagger and the homemade pistol from his waist.
“Crab, you—” “Wan Xiaozhou” wheezed, clutching his abdomen.
“Don’t move. Stand up straight and speak properly to the princess,” “Yun Luoshu” ordered, raising the gun at him.
Wan Xiaozhou trembled, enduring the intense pain as he straightened up.
If Fang Xiaocao had the gun, he might still have had a chance to resist.
But in Yun Luoshu’s hands, there was no room for error.
He was from a top-tier special forces unit—the Cancer. His shooting skills were impeccable.
“Wan Xiaozhou” had witnessed it firsthand before.
“Hey, look at me,” Fang Xiaocao said with a smile.
Hearing this, “Wan Xiaozhou” instinctively turned his gaze toward her.
In that instant, he froze.
Where Fang Xiaocao had stood, there was now only endless darkness.
Floating in the void was a pair of mesmerizing, gleaming eyes staring directly at him.
