From the Blacklist

Chapter 69: From the Blacklist

If Fang Xiaocao were here, she would recognize the man at a glance—it was the Scarface Freak.

Scarface Freak only spared a glance at the tree where Wan Xiaozhou was hiding before continuing to chase after Yun Luoshu.

“Whew…”

Seeing this, Wan Xiaozhou let out a breath of relief.

“Good, my warning worked.”

She muttered to herself.

From the moment she saw Scarface Freak, Wan Xiaozhou felt an overwhelming sense of danger.

This man was even more terrifying than she had imagined.

She listened carefully. After confirming that the footsteps had moved far away, she jumped down from the tree canopy.

Glancing around, she took a shortcut and stealthily made her way toward the camp.

There was still a target in the camp—unless absolutely necessary, she wouldn’t leave.

As for Yun Luoshu…

In this dense forest, she could easily make up an excuse to explain away her disappearance.

If the people in the camp believed her, great.

If they didn’t…

Then she would just kill them all and take her target away.

“Ah—!”

Wan Xiaozhou had barely taken a few dozen steps when she suddenly heard Yun Luoshu’s scream from the direction of the trail.

“Tch…”

“Useless!”

“A big oaf for nothing!”

She muttered in disdain.

After cursing, Wan Xiaozhou immediately changed direction.

She couldn’t move forward anymore. She had to take another route.

Who knew if that Scarface Freak would come back for her after dealing with Yun Luoshu?

She abandoned her original path and started looking for a detour back to the camp.

______

Wan Xiaozhou weaved through the dense forest, searching for a way back.

But the more she walked, the more confused she became.

“Strange…”

She murmured.

She had been moving through the forest for an hour now. At her speed, she should have already found her way back to the path leading to the camp. But instead, everything seemed unfamiliar—there was no sign of the trail they had taken earlier.

“What are you looking for?”

A hoarse male voice suddenly spoke from behind her.

Wan Xiaozhou froze for a moment, then her heart nearly stopped.

Someone was behind her!

She spun around instantly, shaking her sleeve as she moved. A sharp dagger slipped from the sleeve of her jacket into her hand.

“Yun Luoshu?”

Seeing the person behind her, Wan Xiaozhou’s eyes widened in shock.

The one who had suddenly appeared behind her was none other than Yun Luoshu—who was supposed to be dead.

Yun Luoshu leaned against a tree, flashing her an eerie smile.

“Didn’t expect to see me here, did you?”

He said with a grin.

But—

The voice was that of a man.

“Who are you?!”

Wan Xiaozhou’s expression darkened.

Although the person’s face was identical to Yun Luoshu’s, his body frame was clearly that of a man.

He was definitely not Yun Luoshu.

“Who am I?”

“I’m Yun Luoshu, the one you abandoned.”

“Yun Luoshu” chuckled.

“Heh…”

“I can tell the difference between a man and a woman.”

Wan Xiaozhou sneered.

She tightened her grip on the dagger, keeping her guard up while discreetly scanning her surroundings.

After a quick glance around, she felt slightly relieved.

At least the enemy was alone.

This imposter was certainly eerie, but his aura wasn’t as dangerous as Scarface Freak’s. Compared to that monster, this guy was nothing.

She was confident she could kill him with minimal effort.

“Oho, a skilled fighter, are we?”

“Yun Luoshu” grinned.

He reached into his coat and pulled out two steamed buns, taking a big bite out of one.

“Didn’t expect you to be an expert.”

“Not only can you read body language, but you can even distinguish disguises.”

He smiled, waving the buns in front of her.

“Tell me, does my disguise look convincing?”

“You’re good at it,” Wan Xiaozhou admitted.

“An untrained person would never notice you’re a man in disguise.”

She added, her eyes flicking toward the steamed buns.

“Want one?”

“Yun Luoshu” offered the untouched bun.

“Heh…”

“No thanks.”

Wan Xiaozhou smirked.

“Who are you people?”

“Did you set this place up?”

She probed.

“That’s right. This is our hunting ground.”

“Yun Luoshu” grinned.

“Hunting ground?”

Wan Xiaozhou muttered, frowning.

The term sounded oddly familiar.

While she was deep in thought, “Yun Luoshu” quickly finished his second bun.

“Burp—”

He let out a satisfied belch.

Hearing the sound, Wan Xiaozhou snapped back to reality.

She looked up at him.

“Now that I’ve eaten, it’s time to send you on your way.”

“Yun Luoshu” clapped his hands and smirked.

Wan Xiaozhou’s heart clenched.

She knew—he was about to make his move.

She braced herself, gripping her dagger tightly, ready to strike at any moment.

She crouched slightly, raising her dagger in a defensive stance.

“Oh? Dagger combat techniques?”

“You’re definitely trained.”

“Yun Luoshu” grinned mischievously.

He reached into his coat and pulled out a Nepali kukri knife, giving it a few experimental swings.

“Come on, let’s have some fun!”

He sneered, taking a stance.

Seeing his posture, Wan Xiaozhou narrowed her eyes.

This guy was a skilled fighter.

Although he wasn’t as overwhelming as Scarface Freak, he was still clearly trained.

“If you won’t attack first, then I will.”

“Yun Luoshu” chuckled.

The next second, he lunged.

For someone so large, his movements were shockingly fast.

Like a predator pouncing on its prey.

Wan Xiaozhou narrowed her eyes and dashed forward as well.

But just as she took a few steps, she abruptly stopped.

With a sigh, she let her dagger fall to the ground.

“Hahaha—”

“Deception is fair play!”

“Yun Luoshu” laughed.

Following Wan Xiaozhou’s gaze, the reason became clear.

In his other hand, he was holding a crude, homemade pistol.

Beyond seven steps, a gun was too slow.

Within seven steps, a gun was both fast and accurate.

And right now, the distance between them was about five steps.

Wan Xiaozhou was already locked in his sights.

If it had been a regular person holding the gun, she might have had a chance.

But against a trained fighter like “Yun Luoshu” she didn’t even bother trying to resist.

“Alright, sweetheart, hands on your head. Squat down.”

“Yun Luoshu” sneered.

Wan Xiaozhou obediently complied.

“Who exactly are you people?”

She asked in a low voice.

“Blacklist.”

“Yun Luoshu” grinned and uttered a chilling answer.
