Doomsday: Scavenging in a Survival Game – CH159

Total Gains, X-Virus Queen?

Chapter 159: Total Gains, X-Virus Queen?

Compared to her own earring-shaped transformation item, Murata Iga’s planting space being a snake-shaped ring was quite novel to Su Ning.

Since the contractor had died, the planting space now belonged to Su Ning.

Upon entering, she found that its size was about the same as her own non-upgraded planting space. However, the contents inside were vastly different.

Unlike Su Ning’s cozy, pastoral-style space, Murata Iga’s planting space had a distinct battle-damaged look. Only a small area had any plants growing.

Su Ning carefully examined the plants and discovered they each had unique effects.

  1. [Spirit Fire Chili Pepper]
Effect: Consuming it can dispel bodily cold, making the user immune to cold weather for 1 to 2 hours.
Warning: Overconsumption can cause gastrointestinal issues (diarrhea).
  2. [Giant Giant Pumpkin]
Effect: No special ability. It’s just abnormally huge.
  3. [Oily Peanut]
Effect: Can yield large quantities of oil.

Su Ning stared excitedly at the bright red Spirit Fire Chili Peppers. After reading their effects, she immediately realized they were likely cultivated by Murata Iga to deal with extremely cold climates in the real world.

But Su Ning was already thinking of something else.

“Chili peppers? Perfect for making spicy hot pot broth.”

She muttered to herself.

Her craving for hot pot grew stronger. So far, she’d only been able to make mushroom broth or clear broth bases. But with these chili peppers, she could finally prepare a mala (numbing and spicy) hot pot. From hot pot to other spicy dishes, she could now fully indulge.

“In cold weather, chili is absolutely essential!”

She already began imagining dishes like stir-fried chili pork, spicy chicken, mala fish head, and mala crawfish.

Just thinking about them made her salivate uncontrollably.

“Once I finish going through all my loot, I’m definitely asking Unit 4 to cook me a feast!”

Next, Su Ning looked at the Giant Giant Pumpkin and Oily Peanuts.

The oily peanuts surprised her the most—oil is a valuable resource and highly versatile in cooking, frying, and more.

“These can all be transplanted to my own space.”

Su Ning planned to turn this second planting space into a seafood aquaculture zone, to breed the aquatic creatures she collected from the Endless Sea dungeon.

As she scanned the rest of the space, she found it almost entirely packed with items collected by Murata Iga—from rare artifacts to precious metals, and all kinds of exotic materials and treasures.

But what really caught her eye was a massive vault—large enough to hold a dozen people. When Su Ning opened it, she was blinded by golden light.

She stared in shock at the dazzling jewels inside.

Diamonds, rubies, sapphires, gold, silver… the vault was full of luxury jewelry, all glowing with stunning brilliance.

“So many jewels?! Was Murata Iga some kind of gem fanatic?”

Maybe people always crave what they once lacked. Murata Iga had been just a zookeeper—gaining power later, he probably sought what he could never obtain before.

Still, Su Ning knew:

“These gems are beautiful, but they can’t fill a stomach.”

She shook her head with a sigh.

“Love-hate relationship with these things… They’re gorgeous but useless right now.”

But she also understood that in a chaotic future, nothing was certain—these treasures might one day be valuable for trade.

So, she decided to store them carefully for future use.

Su Ning began cleaning up the unused parts of Murata’s space, preparing it for her aquaculture plans.

The renovation work she delegated to Gang Gang, her mechanical assistant—she just had to wait and enjoy the results.

Back in her own planting space, Su Ning began checking her other gains from the Endless Sea instance.

“I only spent two days in that dungeon, but the haul was great. If it hadn’t collapsed, I could’ve gotten even more.”

She thought back to the Rule-Breaking Dragon she saw before the dungeon collapsed.

“What kind of creature was that…? This survival game just keeps getting more mysterious.”

Then she recalled Kurohit and the mysterious organization behind him.

“What kind of group is collecting players’ talents?”

They were powerful—and could enter dungeons at will.

She thought of the compass item Kurohit used.

“Can they enter the real world? If so, that could be trouble.”

But she soon reassured herself—it would make no sense for them to struggle with dungeon entry if they could freely access reality.

Elsewhere, Kurohit—the very person Su Ning was thinking of—was looking dejectedly at the figure before him.

“So you failed such a simple mission?” said a calm, emotionless voice from the shadows.

Kurohit broke into a cold sweat.

The magnetic voice spoke again. Kurohit didn’t even dare lift his head.

“Tch. Not only did you fail, but you came back looking like a total mess! You’ve disgraced the entire Curse Law Kuros Family!”

Kurohit tried to defend himself:

“Sister, what was I supposed to do? The opponent had the ‘Super Misfortune’ disaster talent, plus Medusa’s petrification bloodline, and terrifying poison control powers. I didn’t stand a chance! Please help me, or I’ll really turn into a mindless zombie!”

“Hmph. I think becoming a zombie might suit you just fine.”

From the shadows walked out a strikingly sexy woman in a long black dress, her figure curvy and perfectly shaped. Her face was exquisite, her aura cold and domineering—someone impossible to ignore.

She was none other than Kurohit’s older sister, Kuro Lilith.

And she had another identity:

Codename: X – Queen of the Virus

Lilith looked at the zombie virus spreading across her dear little brother’s body with amusement. Her lips curled into a mocking smile:

“Tch. Just a zombie virus, and you’re already crying like a baby? You’ve truly shamed the Curse Law Family.”

Kurohit lowered his head even more. He knew his sister’s personality all too well—arguing only made things worse. He had no choice but to silently accept her scolding, full of regret over how things turned out.
