Doomsday: Scavenging in a Survival Game – CH140

Treatment, Coconut Grove

Chapter 140: Treatment, Coconut Grove

The man called Gao Peng was clearly the one with the severed arm. At this moment, although he had just narrowly escaped the sea serpent’s attack, the accumulated injuries on his body finally exploded in full force. He could no longer hold on and collapsed to the ground.

The remaining four people looked on anxiously, their faces full of worry.

Though they were amazed by the strange beast named You You at Su Ning’s side, what concerned them more right now was the safety of their injured companion.

Su Ning, meanwhile, activated her Scavenger’s Eye to inspect the detailed profiles of the five.

[Player: Gao Peng]
Talent – Eagle Eye: Can see very long distances.
Skill – Explosive Arrow: Fires an arrow that causes an explosion.

[Player: Lin Lele]
Talent – Agile Hair: Can control the growth and shape of her hair.
Skill – Bind: Uses hair to restrain a target.

[Player: Nan Sheng]
Talent – Scalpel: Can swiftly cut through living tissue.
Skills:

Bandage: Quickly bandages a wound to stop bleeding.

Healing Hands: Gradually heals wounds.

[Player: Bao Song]
Talent – Strong Wrists: Greatly enhances wrist strength.
Skill – Giant Axe Slash: Swings a massive axe that can easily cleave enemies.

[Player: Huang Zhengang]
Talent – Defense Enhancement: All personal defense skills receive a tenfold boost.
Skill – Air Barrier: Creates a defensive shield made of compressed air.

As Su Ning reviewed their profiles, she found herself confused. This team had well-rounded roles: a tank with strong defense, a ranged attacker, melee fighters, and even support with healing and control abilities. A balanced party like this should not have struggled against just one giant sea serpent.

Among them, the girl named Lin Lele had tears streaming down her face as she cried, “It’s all my fault! If I hadn’t been so scared of that giant serpent, Gao Peng wouldn’t have gotten hurt! It’s all my fault!”

Huang Zhengang quickly tried to comfort her. “Now’s not the time for blame. Nan Sheng, treat Gao Peng quickly. We can’t lose our most important ranged DPS!”

Gao Peng, his face pale, looked at Lin Lele and said weakly, “It’s not your fault… I just didn’t expect the serpent’s tail to be so flexible, hiss…”

Before he could finish, a wave of sharp pain from his injured arm silenced him.

Nan Sheng glared at him and snapped, “You’ve still got energy to comfort others? Shut up and stay still!”

Lin Lele added, “Gao Peng, let Sister Sheng treat you quickly. Don’t talk anymore!”

Gao Peng’s forehead was soaked in cold sweat. Not talking was the hardest part—speaking helped distract him from the pain!

“Sheng-jie, don’t you have any anesthetics? It hurts!”

A soft green glow appeared in Nan Sheng’s hand, and with it, the bleeding from Gao Peng’s severed arm stopped instantly.

At that moment, Su Ning stepped forward. Bao Song immediately turned his attention to her.

He felt a deep sense of gratitude toward Su Ning. If she hadn’t stepped in when she did, the outcome for their team might’ve been tragic.

Still, though thankful, he remained cautious—especially after noticing the powerful creature You You beside her. He instinctively stayed alert.

Even so, he spoke sincerely, “Friend, thank you very much for your help.”

Su Ning lightly shook her head. “No need to thank me.”

When people risked their lives to warn her to escape first, she couldn’t just stand by and watch them die.

Looking at Gao Peng now, she saw that Nan Sheng had managed to stop the bleeding with her Healing Hands. The next step was reattaching the arm.

Nan Sheng took out Gao Peng’s severed arm from her backpack and said seriously, “If you want to keep this arm, you’ll need to endure the pain.”

Gao Peng nodded weakly.

Su Ning watched as Nan Sheng skillfully took out a needle from her pack and began stitching the arm back on while continuously using Healing Hands to reconnect the tissue.

Su Ning couldn’t help but be impressed. Clearly, this short-haired girl had rich experience—her medical skills were smooth and practiced.

Finally, after Nan Sheng’s careful treatment, Gao Peng’s arm was reattached.

“Thank goodness!” Lin Lele cried tears of joy.

Nan Sheng reminded everyone, “He mustn’t move the arm carelessly. He needs rest.”

The group turned to Su Ning and began introducing themselves.

But Su Ning had already seen their names through her Scavenger’s Eye.

“I’m Su Kexin,” she replied.

Lin Lele, now more lively after recovering from her panic, bounded over to Su Ning. Seeing that they were of similar age, she smiled brightly.

“Kexin, is this your pet? It’s amazing! If it weren’t for it, we wouldn’t even be alive!”

As she spoke, she reached out to pet You You—but the tiger bared its teeth at her, snarled, and darted behind Su Ning to hide.

Lin Lele looked a little heartbroken.

Su Ning smiled helplessly. “It probably isn’t used to strangers.”

She had already figured out that Lin Lele was a very “thick-skinned” kind of girl. Earlier she had been sobbing over Gao Peng’s injury, and now that he was safe, she was bouncing around again like nothing happened.

Despite the earlier danger, Su Ning felt that this team of five had a good and harmonious dynamic.

Su Ning began chatting with Lin Lele and Nan Sheng while Gao Peng rested. Meanwhile, Bao Song and Huang Zhengang went off to explore the nearby area for supplies.

“Sigh, we were too reckless earlier. Who’d have thought there’d be such a terrifying monster hiding in that cave at the center of the island?” Lin Lele still looked shaken.

She had always been terrified of snakes—so much so that a regular one could make her jump three meters high. That she hadn’t fainted when facing a python fifty or sixty times larger was thanks only to the courage she’d built from previous dungeon experience.

Still, fear of certain creatures is deeply rooted. No amount of growth can erase that entirely.

Perhaps because Su Ning had saved them, the group was not too guarded around her. Su Ning even managed to learn a few things.

They were all from the Fifth Shelter.

This surprised Su Ning. Their shelter’s number was so close to hers—Sixth Shelter—but that didn’t mean the two were geographically close. In fact, they were quite far apart.

The current extreme cold made long-distance travel even harder.

Because they had entered the game as a team, the five of them had landed in the same place—luckily, not in the sea like so many others.

“Kexin, which shelter are you from?” someone asked.

Su Ning wanted to say the Sixth Shelter, but paused and ultimately didn’t answer.

Before she had a chance, Bao Song shouted from the distance.

“Everyone, come quickly! Look what we found!”

Everyone turned to him. Bao Song and Huang Zhengang were each holding a massive brown fruit in their arms.

Lin Lele gasped, “Is that a coconut?”

Bao Song nodded. “There’s a whole coconut grove not far from here. Tons of coconuts still hanging from the trees!”

Lin Lele beamed. “We found something useful so fast?!”

Even Nan Sheng, sitting off to the side, looked excited.

Su Ning glanced at the coconut in Bao Song’s arms.

[Item: Sweet Coconut]
Description: A sweet and ordinary coconut.

Though it was labeled “ordinary,” to many players, this was a very useful resource. The coconut water was drinkable, and the coconut meat was edible.

The group rushed toward the coconut grove, and Su Ning finally saw the lush stretch of trees for herself.

Lin Lele was bouncing with joy.

“We hit the jackpot! If we bring these back, we could trade them for a pretty decent shelter room!”
