Crazy, All Crazy, A Little Madness Is Good – CH10

Chapter 10

“Seems I came at a bad time.”

Xiao Jingxi stood at the study door, dark waves surging in his eyes, though his face still carried a faint smile, “Do I need to excuse myself?”

Behind him, Xu Shuangrong peeked out, and when she saw the scene inside, she covered her eyes, “Aiya, what’s going on here…”

What she saw: The man was pinned down on the sofa, tie loose, shirt collar undone, revealing pale, tempting skin and faint traces of muscle. His messy hair barely shaded his eyes, but couldn’t hide the flush on his cheeks.

The girl was straddling his lean waist. His long fingers tried pushing her away, but she didn’t budge. His slender legs, trapped beneath her, struggled briefly before giving up.

“Don’t…”

He turned his head to the side, lashes trembling,  “Tonight… is that okay?”

“Okay my ass! Eat it now!!

Xie Mi shattered the ambiguous atmosphere with a shout, relentlessly shoving cookies toward Shen Yanqing’s mouth, “Still acting shy, huh? Try me again!”

[Xie Mi, shut up, please I beg you]
[I had a whole picture in my head with my eyes closed, and then she screamed and ruined it]
[Aaaaah why is Mr. Shen so delicate, I love it]
[For the first time, Film Emperor Xiao and Xu Shuangrong feel unnecessary…]

“Eat! Eat it!!”

“Nooo~”

This dialogue was impossible not to misunderstand.

Ignored the whole time, Xiao Jingxi finally snapped. He strode up to the sofa, itching to roar in her ear, “I. Said! Do you need me to excuse myself?!”

At the same time, Xie Mi was already pissed at Shen Yanqing.

“Fine, fine, don’t eat, right? Don’t eat, I’ll feed the dog then!” she snapped, and in a reverse motion, shoved the cookie straight into Xiao Jingxi’s mouth.

Xiao Jingxi, cookie clenched between his teeth: “?”

[Why feed the ‘dog’ Film Emperor Xiao??]
[Say that again, I dare you!]

“Apologies.”

Shen Yanqing lazily lifted his eyes, lips curling with a slow smile, “Too immersed to notice you there. Did you need something?”

Xiao Jingxi’s face darkened further.

[Oh shit… is this a love-triangle battlefield moment?]
[Wait, Mr. Shen didn’t even resist—in fact, he seemed to enjoy it?]
[Xiao Jingxi is acting weird too. He could’ve just left, but instead he kept asking over and over, forcing Xie Mi to notice him]
[?? Stop overthinking. Obviously he was disgusted by Xie Mi’s indecency and couldn’t tolerate it, so he had to stop her]
[Exactly. Plus, he and Shuangshuang were planning to read together in the study, and then saw Xie Mi hogging the place. He just wanted her out, okay?]
[Oh wow, so powerful, chasing people out of a public study. Since when was it exclusive to you, Film Emperor Xiao?]
[Wait a second. Something’s off. Why does it feel like Xie Mi actually has fans now?]
[Correct. I’m a new fan. Following the star into madness—if she won’t stop being insane, then we’ll just cheer her insanity on!!]

Having lost face, Xiao Jingxi was unhappy. But since the other party was Shen Yanqing, he couldn’t lose his temper.

“I just wanted to remind Mr. Shen—before getting close to someone, it’s best to understand their character. You’ve been abroad for years, maybe you don’t follow domestic entertainment news…”

“Film Emperor Xiao.”

Shen Yanqing cut him off, still smiling, “Try being sarcastic again.”

Xiao Jingxi’s breath caught.

[Mr. Shen actually clapped back at Film Emperor Xiao—for Xie Mi!]
[Holy crap!! This is a god-tier love-triangle battlefield]
[I thought there might be a battle at some point, but I never imagined the lead would be Xie Mi—and Xu Shuangrong ended up as pure background!]

Xu Shuangrong, standing nearby, couldn’t help feeling awkward.

Xiao Jingxi hadn’t expected Shen Yanqing to be so direct. For a moment, he was cornered.

Unable to offend him, he hastily muttered, “You misunderstand, that’s not what I meant,” and quickly found an excuse to leave.

Xiao Jingxi left. Naturally, Xu Shuangrong followed.

Once again, only Xie Mi and Shen Yanqing remained in the study.

Xie Mi was still savoring her own cleverness.

She’d seen Xiao Jingxi come in earlier but deliberately acted oblivious. Then, while he wasn’t expecting it, she shoved a cookie into his mouth—beautiful misdirection!

That made her mission 2/3 complete.

Now, the only one left…

Xie Mi turned her gaze back to Shen Yanqing. The moment their eyes met, his smile deepened, light flickering in his gaze.

Xie Mi couldn’t smile back.

Who’d have thought the one who seemed easiest would actually be the hardest?

What kind of grudge did he have with cookies anyway? She’d practically forced him, but he still refused a single bite.

She’d have to find another way.

Just as she was about to leave, he stopped her.

“You’re not feeding me anymore?” he asked.

Xie Mi gave a half-laugh. “Then let me feed you, huh?”

“I’ll let you.”

“You’ll let? Let my ass you’ll let! You…” She paused when she saw the utterly sincere look in his eyes. “Really?”

Shen Yanqing nodded earnestly.

Xie Mi cautiously held a cookie up to his mouth. He ate it.

Hiss…

Then what the hell was all that stubborn resistance earlier?!

[Wait, did Mr. Shen deliberately flirt with Xie Mi so Film Emperor Xiao would see?]
[He knew she had a mission but played along—don’t tell me he’s into her now?!]
[Nooooooo!!!]

The comments was filled with wailing.

But Xie Mi was thrilled.

Mission complete. Weight off her shoulders.

After choking down the shit-tasting dinner cooked by Qiu Chengye, it was finally 9 p.m.—mission tally time.

All the guests sat on the living room sofa.

“Actually, this afternoon, everyone was assigned a hidden mission.”

Director Niu spoke through his little megaphone.

“Fortunately, everyone completed theirs. Now, we’ll determine the room-picking order based on who finished earliest.”

“The first to complete her mission was Teacher Xie, so she gets first—”

“Excuse me.”

Xu Shuangrong raised her hand softly.
“I’d like to ask—if we guess someone else’s mission, what happens?”

Director Niu: “If your mission is guessed, it counts as a failure. Meanwhile, the person who guessed correctly earns an extra point on top of their own completion.”

“I see.” Xu Shuangrong nodded like she understood.
“Then I’ll try guessing. Xie Mi’s mission was to feed three male guests cookies, right?”

“Correct!”

Director Niu struck the gong.
“Then Teacher Xie’s mission is invalid, and she’s last! Teacher Xu, having guessed correctly, is now first!”

[Nice!!]
[Aaaaah Shuangshuang is so clever, worthy of the smartest sweetheart in entertainment]
[Bitch Xie’s dumbfounded, huh? So what if you finished first? You were so obvious about it, begging to be caught]

“Hold on.”

Xie Mi wasn’t flustered at all. In fact, she was utterly calm.

There was a reason she’d been so brazen with her mission.

“Xu Shuangrong’s finished guessing, right?”

She lifted her head, lips curving upward in a devil’s smile that sent chills through everyone.

“Then it’s my turn to guess.”
