Chapter 129: Resolution, and Ideas
Su Ning looked at the suddenly-appearing middle-aged man. He wore only a cloak over his shoulders, and beneath him swarmed a mass of gray rats.
All around them, numerous rats were currently engaged in a brutal battle with the zombies wandering nearby, biting and tearing at them.
Jin Yuan could transform himself into a swarm of rats, but the rats he personally transformed into couldn’t bite zombies — he was afraid of becoming infected by the zombie virus and turning into one himself.
However, while he couldn’t bite zombies himself, that didn’t mean he couldn’t control the rats in the instance to do it for him.
And after experimenting, he discovered something surprising — even when these rats bit zombies and became zombie rats, Jin Yuan could still control them.

Su Ning raised an eyebrow. “Oh? He’s famous?”
Li Ming was baffled that she didn’t know him.
“Sister Su, you seriously don’t know? Jin Yuan used his powers to completely destroy an entire base! And he loves transforming into a swarm of rats to devour people!”
Li Ming added, “He especially likes beautiful women… he even said before that ‘pretty women taste better.’”
So that’s how he got the nickname “Man-Eating Rat”?
Su Ning shuddered in disgust after hearing that.
Jin Yuan didn’t expect his nickname to be so well-known, and burst into laughter.
“Kid, I’ll admit you’ve got guts, but don’t think for a second that Lord Jin will let you go.”
As he spoke, Jin Yuan began commanding his rat swarm to surround Su Ning. The zombies from earlier had already been stripped down to nothing but bones by the mutated rats.
Su Ning quickly glanced at the data:

Li Ming was still trying to pull Su Ning to flee.
But before he could react, Su Ning raised her hand — her spatial storage had upgraded. She instantly summoned Unit No. 1 from her scavenger backpack.
Since these people weren’t from her world, there was no need to hide her spatial abilities.
Jin Yuan was startled by No. 1’s sudden appearance. He couldn’t understand how a person had appeared out of thin air.
But before he could react further, Unit No. 1 raised its Annihilation Cannon, which glowed red — and in the next moment, the rat swarm Jin Yuan had summoned was completely obliterated.
“Huh?!”
Jin Yuan was stunned. He couldn’t comprehend what just happened.
“You… I… How is this possible?!”
Jin Yuan never imagined that a player could have such power. Even more shocking was how his zombie rat army was wiped out so easily.
He once destroyed an entire base with regular rats. And now he couldn’t even deal with a single player? It was absurd.
But it was also reality.
Jin Yuan quickly realized he had kicked an iron wall — so he immediately changed his tone and began begging for mercy.
“Friend, this is all a misunderstanding! A big misunderstanding! I was only trying to make friends!” Jin Yuan’s face showed a foolish smile, entirely different from his arrogant demeanor moments ago.
Su Ning spoke with mockery: “Misunderstanding? Weren’t you just asking me to ‘go with you’? Why stop now? Who knows — I might’ve said yes.”
Jin Yuan gave an awkward laugh. “Heh heh… You’re joking…”
Inside, he was trembling with fear. All he could do now was laugh nervously.
Just as he was about to turn into a rat swarm to escape, Su Ning’s eyes flickered — her energy surged, and Jin Yuan’s legs suddenly began turning to stone.
“What’s happening?!” Jin Yuan looked down in horror as his legs rapidly petrified.
“What did you do to me?!”
Su Ning replied calmly, “Nothing much. Just trying to make a new friend.”
How ironic. The line he used earlier was now thrown right back at him.
Jin Yuan’s own words were now coming full circle — and he hated it.
But of course, Su Ning had no intention of letting him go.
She slowly walked up to Jin Yuan. Using her Scavenger’s Eye, she scanned his stats. His ability to destroy enemy bases through rat swarms made him incredibly useful.
Such a powerful talent — how could she not make it her own?
Su Ning pressed her ten fingers against his forehead. Her nails slowly turned black as the zombie virus, fused with her Scavenger’s Venom, began to flow into Jin Yuan’s body.
“What are you doing?! What are you doing to me?! Let me go! Please, Auntie, I’m begging you, let me go! I was wrong!”
Even though Jin Yuan begged and cried, Su Ning ignored him completely.
Soon enough, as the virus spread, Zombie No. 6 was born fresh and new.
That’s right — Su Ning had converted another elite into her zombie army.
Li Ming stood there with his mouth hanging open, utterly speechless. He had never imagined Sister Su was this terrifying.
He had only thought she was good with a bow.
His forced smile was starting to fade.
Is it too late to run now? he wondered.
Noticing Li Ming’s fearful look, Su Ning smiled slightly and said, “What? Scared?”
Li Ming shook his head furiously. “N-No, not at all! I’m just shocked that the infamous Jin Yuan died just like that…”
This was Su Ning’s first time using her Petrification Ability since awakening her bloodline. Now, she could freely control the ability and even manage the extent of petrification.
Li Ming clapped, “Sister Su is so powerful. I admire you so much!”
Having no idea what else to say, he just spouted praise. Earlier, he’d been wondering why his [Super Luck] hadn’t triggered any negative side effects.
Now he realized — it just hadn’t triggered yet.
Because the true horror was standing right in front of him — someone who could casually annihilate him with a wave of her hand.
What frightened Li Ming even more was her second ability.
He gulped and looked at the newly-transformed zombie version of Jin Yuan.
“I know Sister Su’s secret… will she silence me to keep it hidden?”
Su Ning replied casually, “Don’t worry. If I wanted to kill you, I would’ve done it already.”
Li Ming sighed in relief at those words.
His voice trembled slightly. “Sister Su, you’re really such a good person…”
Su Ning thought: If your voice weren’t shaking, I might actually believe that was sincere.
Originally, Su Ning had planned to use Li Ming’s [Super Luck] to find more treasure chests in this area.
But now that they had reached the Land of the Dead, the zombies — which were threats to everyone else — were resources in Su Ning’s eyes.
