Chapter 199: Global Hide and Seek 9
“This suit-pants-wearing, glasses-sporting man is truly killing me!”
“I love him so much.”
The group chat was still abuzz with excitement over Lu Qingyuan’s appearance when Lu Qingyuan suddenly fired a shot without warning. A player, originally disguised as greenery, was unfortunately hit and vanished in a flash of white light.
Two shots shattered the infatuated dreams of these players who had just seen Lu Qingyuan for the first time.
“Holy cow, he’s so fierce.”
“How did he spot the player in the greenery? Several people were right next to him and didn’t notice him!”
The old players, who had experienced the fear of being dominated by Lu Qingyuan, laughed at this moment.
“Who Can Find Me: Hahaha, scared silly, aren’t you? I wanted to laugh just now seeing you all so infatuated. The one surnamed Lu and One-Eyed are together. Not crying is one thing, but you’re still infatuated.”
“I Am That Toothpick: Guess why only a little over a hundred people in our district survived last round? Those two contributed greatly.”
“Skin as White as Snow: If The one surnamed Lu were next to me, I’d cry.”
…The one surnamed Lu wasn’t next to her, but Chu Yian felt like she still needed to cry.
Up until now, she and Lu Qingyuan had only experienced one hostile encounter. And that was because Lu Qingyuan was parasitized by the Zerg, so it wasn’t his subjective will. From former comrade-in-arms to current enemy, Chu Yian was, of course… merciless!
She had drawn a hunting rifle earlier. Teacher Lu would make a good first prey.
When the prey becomes the hunter,
When the strongest camaraderie is betrayed,
When a high-ranking clucking chicken carries a hunting rifle and hits the hunter that all the prey fear… just thinking about it is thrilling, just thinking about it is exciting.
Moreover, Teacher Lu’s memory resets monthly, so there’s no need to worry about him holding a grudge.
“Cool!”
Chu Yian couldn’t help but cluck from high in the air.
The sound was extremely faint, dissipating the moment it left her mouth. Not to mention the deafening gunshots all around, it should have been inaudible to anyone. However, Lu Qingyuan, who was about to leave, instantly turned around, his gaze sweeping behind him.
Chu Yian instantly froze like a clucking chicken sculpture.
Although she was high in the air, she felt a tense sensation that if she made even the slightest movement, she would be discovered.
Lu Qingyuan raised his hand and fired two more shots in another direction, this time hitting a ping-pong paddle.
Another flash of white light passed, terrifying the Flying Zhu Shen in the distance.
Fortunately, he hadn’t looked in that direction.
“Flying Zhu Shen: Oh my god, you scared me to death!”
“Flying Zhu Shen: That person doesn’t even open fire beforehand; he just sends people away directly. Players who were matched with such a perverted hunter last round, what did you experience?!”
“Skin as White as Snow: My friend, a trash can wearing iron armor, with fancy and flamboyant footwork, evaded layers of pursuit from other hunters, only to be headshot by him from eight hundred meters away with two shots.”
“I Am That Toothpick: The hunter who sent away the most players last round, what did we experience? Fear, of course.”
“Granny Wang Herself: Damn it, stop talking so much! Where did The one surnamed Lu go? Quickly send an update!”
…The group chat was frantically reporting the whereabouts of Lu Qingyuan and One-Eyed, while Chu Yian was secretly planning to get her gun.
She had put the gun in her treasure box for convenience. And where she was standing now, she needed to remain perfectly still to maintain balance, let alone get a gun.
But without a gun, she had no weapon!
Chu Yian felt safe now and thought she could try.
At this moment, on a 20-meter high flagpole, unnoticed by anyone, the clucking chicken was performing acrobatics.
She transformed her treasure box to the size of an adult’s palm, then gradually stepped her claws onto the box to maintain balance. Once she confirmed the box was stable, she instantly enlarged the treasure box.
She was mentally prepared for the treasure box to fall. By retracting it the moment it dropped, she could reduce the chance of being discovered by the hunters below.
But the treasure box was very stable when placed on the flagpole.
Despite being a smooth, spherical flagpole top, the treasure box remained perfectly still when placed on it.
Chu Yian hesitantly stepped on the box’s surface, testing it little by little, and found that even if she moved to the edge of the box, it still didn’t budge.
This wasn’t a matter of force; it was a bug, right?
An unexpected gain, Chu Yian excitedly jumped on it twice, then retrieved the hunting rifle she had drawn from the box.
As a chicken, using a gun was still a bit difficult.
Fortunately, the area of the treasure box was large enough for her to maneuver, and the unsuspecting hunters below were like moving targets.
Chu Yian had an idea while watching these people.
However, looking at the time, only half had passed, so there was no rush. She would wait until the last few minutes to go out and reap a harvest. By then, even if the hunters realized she was on the flagpole, they wouldn’t be able to do anything to her.
When she saw Lu Qingyuan then, she would shoot at his feet to scare him.
And now… she could relax.
Just now she was worried about falling, but now she found lying on the 50 square centimeter flat surface of the treasure box incredibly leisurely. She watched the Flying Zhu Shen cosplay a car emblem for as long as possible, and also observed some discovered players frantically running below, outwitting the hunters.
A pair of flashy pink shorts ran extremely fast.
It even evaded the pursuit of three hunters, then a gust of easterly wind blew it onto a tree branch, and in just a few seconds, it vanished without a trace in the tree.
“Ahhh, why are there still over forty minutes until the game ends?!”
“So agonizing, so agonizing.”
“The safest one here must be that flying chicken, right? As much as we mocked others earlier, we envy it just as much now.”
“I really want to hug that flying chicken down from the flagpole and take its place.”
“I’ve noticed these hunters don’t look up. Not only has the flying chicken not been discovered yet, but haven’t you noticed that the shorts have also shaken off those hunters?”
This shouldn’t be.
It’s unscientific.
It’s too damn outrageous!
The flashy pink shorts actually shook off the pursuit of three hunters. Some even felt it was unfair to those players who were well-disguised but still discovered.
Chu Yian smiled as she watched their chat history. They hadn’t seen anything more outrageous yet. The Flying Zhu Shen on the car below hadn’t been discovered yet, though the car itself had taken two shots.
“Huang Fei Hu: The colored flag next to the supermarket on the left side of the square, I suggest you move. All the other flags are fluttering; you’re easily spotted.”
“Huang Fei Hu: The potted plant currently escaping in the easterly direction, turn left. There’s a hunter blocking the right intersection.”
Chu Yian’s current position was excellent. Not only was she safe, but she could even use a god’s-eye view to help other players avoid unreasonable situations and escape. The hunters in this round clearly felt that some prey suddenly became harder to catch.
“Damn it, he got away again!”
Several hunters gathered, their faces grim from losing their prey.
