Zerg Invasion 18

Chapter 124: Zerg Invasion 18

Game Day Five

The school bell rang, and the Parasitized wandering around the school had already dispersed.

“Are you sure you want to go out now?”

Principal Li wanted to save people, but he was also very scared. “Why don’t you two go? I’ll stay here and guard. The laboratory is like this now; someone has to stay, right?”

“No need. I’ve borrowed the laboratory for these two weeks, so no one else can come in.”

Lu Qingyuan directly dispelled his thought of staying there. The three of them prepared for a bit, then went straight downstairs.

During the day, the school had returned to its usual normal appearance, with students linking arms and laughing. Chu Yian walked past these people, occasionally hearing snippets of their conversations.

“Old Liu, what happened in your dorm last night? No one from your dorm was there.”

“Someone was vomiting in the public restroom late at night; the sound was like a ghost.”

“When did the cell phones lose signal yesterday? Damn it, I couldn’t even play my game; it’s so annoying.”

“The school is very eerie in the middle of the night. Should we go check it out tonight…?”

Students in groups of three to five seemed to have endless topics. They seemed to notice some anomalies but only approached them with curiosity and a casual attitude.

Principal Li opened his mouth several times, wanting to remind these students to be careful, but each time Chu Yian stopped him.

“What are you doing?”

Principal Li was interrupted so many times that he was getting a bit angry and annoyed.

“I told you to shut up and not cause trouble. Can you even tell if the person standing in front of you is a normal human or a Parasitized?”

The Parasitized have intelligence.

If he exposed these secrets on the spot, putting aside whether others would believe it, would those Parasitized notice them and then hunt them down using various methods?

Right now, they had no strength, no preparation; they were just weaklings.

Chu Yian didn’t indulge him just because he was the Principal. As a player highly experienced in this type of crisis game, the most taboo thing was to act on one’s own initiative and affect the team.

She was busy lecturing the Principal and completely failed to notice a familiar figure running towards her from not far away.

“Little Chu, Little Chu!”

This person was Zhang Lu.

Her clothes looked disheveled, and her face looked haggard. She jogged over and directly grabbed Chu Yian’s hand, as if she had seen a savior.

“I finally found you; I’m so scared, boo hoo hoo.”

When Zhang Lu cried like that, many people around them looked over.

Lu Qingyuan, who had been rushing forward, stopped and turned to look at this suddenly appearing girl.

“It’s good that you’re okay, it’s good that you’re okay.”

Chu Yian hadn’t expected to meet Zhang Lu here. She quickly comforted her, “Go find a place to wait for me first; I’ll come find you later.”

“Where are you going now? I don’t want to be alone anymore.”

Zhang Lu clutched Chu Yian’s hand tightly, looking at her with helpless pleading.

Ah, this… Chu Yian looked at Zhang Lu’s appearance and hesitantly reached into her pocket, feeling the last vial of reagent inside.

Just then, Lu Qingyuan grabbed her hand.

“You wait in a public place; he will come find you.”

“Teacher Lu.”

Zhang Lu stared blankly at the man in front of her, seemingly not understanding how Chu Yian could be with him. However, Lu Qingyuan wouldn’t waste time explaining to her here. After speaking, he took Chu Yian and left directly.

“We have a method of identification now; don’t use your last vial of reagent.”

The identification method he spoke of, of course, referred to the sonar.

As long as the sonar reached a fixed frequency, all these Zerg would die. This method was efficient, reusable, and directly eliminated the Zerg. The only drawback was that it could only be used in a fixed environment.

And the reagent just made up for this shortcoming. So it could be kept and used when necessary.

Chu Yian quickly understood what he meant and put the reagent back in her pocket.

Under the teaching building

Principal Li shook his phone, then let out a heavy sigh.

“If only my phone had signal.”

Just a few calls, and all these teachers would arrive one by one. Unlike now, where he had to go floor by floor, classroom by classroom, to call them.

These teachers were also particularly scattered.

Beyond the teaching building, there were also the Fifth Laboratory Building and the office building.

It took them a whole morning to find these teachers.

Including Zhang Lu, a total of 8 people were gathered. When they reached the top floor of the Fifth Laboratory Building, everyone was puzzled.

“Principal, why did you call us here?”

“If there’s something, say it quickly; I’m busy preparing for the afternoon class.”

“Instead of taking us running around, you should find someone to check what’s wrong with the campus network. Several of my students are using the excuse that they can’t get online to slack off and not read literature.”

…Some teachers were already impatient.

“It’s nothing, nothing. I just wanted to invite everyone in for a moment.”

Principal Li opened the door to the observation room, saying with an embarrassed smile.

“What for?”

“Are you going to use us as test subjects?”

Many of those present recognized what was inside.

Principal Li first mysteriously called them together, and now he was messing with them like this. Basically, everyone was angry. Two people even tried to walk out.

“You must go in. Only those who can come out will know what happened.”

Six weak professors and girls against two young and strong anti-Zerg core members… Lu Qingyuan, alone, managed to drive all of them into the observation room.

The sonar played at a fixed frequency.

Instantly, it became a deadly sound.

The faces of the eight people inside changed drastically, each looking more pained than the last. Then, they heard two bangs.

They exploded.

Out of the eight people, two directly exploded at once.

“Ah!”

“Murder! Murder!”

“Help!”

Fear made them violently rush against the glass, pounding heavily on it. And among them, Zhang Lu’s actions were the most bizarre.

She fell to the ground, her body contorting, and her mouth began to open and close.

It wasn’t opening and closing; it was tearing!

Zhang Lu let her mouth tear open from the extreme force, blood gushing out. Yet, even this extent wasn’t enough to satisfy her. She reached out her hands, gripped the upper and lower parts of her teeth, and pulled forcefully to both sides until the flesh and bone of her face separated, revealing her upper teeth and the bridge of her nose.

“Heavens, heavens!”

“What is she doing?”

The people trapped in the room were stunned, watching the terrifying scene before their eyes with trembling legs.

Zhang Lu had brutally torn open her own head, and from the area where her brain should have been, dozens of white, wriggling worms, as thick as chopsticks, emerged and crawled towards the teachers’ feet.

Even after living for decades and seeing much of the world, the professors finally couldn’t maintain their composure, pounding on the glass, “Help!”

“Let us out quickly!”
