Chapter 108: Zerg Invasion 2
Chu Yian vaguely followed the girl down the tree-lined avenue of the campus, learning some background information from their conversation.
The girl’s name was Zhang Lu, and they were both sophomore biology students. They had both just transferred from other departments and were even roommates, so the two had been inseparable these past few days.
After figuring out her identity, Yian found her dormitory.
Chu Yian began to analyze the information given by this round of the game.
The game objective was to survive for 15 days during an insect invasion.
She didn’t have a clear concept of the insectoids yet, but since this round of the game didn’t require finding survival zones or similar places, it was just a matter of ‘hiding’. Find a place to hide and stay there for 15 days, right?
However, a crowded school and a four-person dormitory were clearly not suitable places to hide. Chu Yian planned to find an opportunity to go out; renting a house outside was the most correct choice.
“Rent a place?”
Zhang Lu was stunned when she heard this. “Little Chu, did you burn your brain out? The school explicitly states that students cannot leave the school, and besides, our campus is in the middle of nowhere. Where would you even rent a house?”
“What?”
When Chu Yian heard this, she was completely bewildered.
No wonder the greenery here was so good.
“We’re moving to a different campus in our junior year, why would you move out now?”
Zhang Lu just thought she was speaking on a whim and didn’t continue the discussion. “Oh, right, we need to hurry to the freshman welcome party tonight.”

Freshmen had just started school.
After military training, each college held a welcome party for the new students. Chu Yian didn’t know how the game had arranged this identity for her; not only was she a student, but she even had to perform a program for the school’s freshmen.

Chu Yian changed into the uniform issued by the college, held the script, and expressionlessly recited her part, like an emotionless robot. Then, she was stiffly led back to their seats by Zhang Lu.
“Little Chu, what did you just recite?”
Zhang Lu pulled her aside and whispered, “You didn’t perform like that during rehearsal. I just saw the counselor and the head of the arts group sitting down there, and their faces were completely dark.”

Chu Yian had no idea who the counselor was or who the head of the arts group was; it was already good enough that she even went up there.
They sat by the window. Chu Yian glanced outside; it was already dark.
Chu Yian stood up, used the excuse of going to the restroom, and never returned.
Back in the dormitory, she was the only one there now.
This was a typical four-person dormitory, with bunk beds and desks, each person having their own independent space, and two bathrooms on the outside balcony.
Chu Yian specifically checked her area: a simple bed, a bookshelf with a few books, and a wardrobe with two or three pieces of clothing. There was pitifully little stuff.
But she also gained something.
If this was the case, she wouldn’t need to rent a house or buy clothes and daily necessities in this round of the game.
Two thousand yuan was more than enough to live for 15 days in the school.
She briefly surveyed her belongings, then took out her treasure box.
“A tranquilizer.”

Chu Yian ignored the item’s inner voice; this tranquilizer was a good thing.
The streetlights were still on outside, and the supermarket hadn’t closed yet.
The act of immediately buying food upon entering a game was almost ingrained in Chu Yian’s DNA. She put on her backpack and jogged all the way to the supermarket.
Instant noodles, biscuits, and high-calorie items like chocolate were a must-stock.
After paying, Chu Yian vigorously stuffed the items into her bag. Just then, someone suddenly patted her on the shoulder.
She reflexively looked back and saw a young man.
The man was over 1.8 meters tall, wearing a sweatshirt, with a clean and refined appearance. His smile was youthful and vibrant. “Hi, hello.”
“…Hello.”
Chu Yian took a step back, unsure who this person was.
“Excuse me, my name is Zhou Chen. I’m a junior from the College of Biochemistry. I saw your performance at the freshman welcome party tonight; it was very cute.”
The man introduced himself proactively.
Low EQ, dull; high EQ, cute.
“Thank you.”
Chu Yian nodded. “Um… Is there something you need?”
“N-nothing, I just wanted to get to know you.”
The man smiled gently, then took out his phone. “Can I add you on WeChat?”
“Sure.”
Chu Yian took out her phone.
Her phone’s contact list was currently empty; adding one person meant one more piece of information. There were many people in the school, and if something big happened, there were always one or two people who would blab it out.
This classmate successfully reminded her that when Zhang Lu returned, she should ask her to add her to the class group, dormitory group, and to add various other people.
Seeing that the person was already in her friends list, Chu Yian nodded and hurried away, hugging the box.
Zhou Chen looked at the added WeChat contact, secretly pleased. He had just wanted to chat with Chu Yian a bit more, but she had already run off with the box.

When Chu Yian entered, her three roommates were already back.
“Little Chu, what happened to you? How did you disappear after going to the restroom?”
Zhang Lu said when she saw her return, “You left too early; you didn’t even see Zhou Chen’s performance. He truly is the heartthrob of our college; he’s so handsome, and he looked amazing playing the piano.”
Zhou Chen?
Chu Yian remembered the man she had just seen, and then remembered adding him on WeChat.
“Oh, right, let’s add each other on WeChat.”
She was extremely purposeful in her actions: add people, then add groups, then add people within the groups.
In a short while, WeChat messages started dinging.
“You left early today, you really missed out, I’m telling you.”
Zhang Lu said with great regret, “He’s a junior now, and they’ve moved to the campus in the City Center. How many times will we get to see him in a semester? What a pity, what a pity.”
“Mm-hmm, right.”
Chu Yian nodded, then immediately opened her phone to check the group messages.
Her roommates were all in the dormitory, and no one was talking.
The class group, however, was discussing a lot, but it was all about trivial matters like courses, classmates, and teachers.
The Zhou Chen that Zhang Lu mentioned also sent a message.
“Hello, junior.”
“I heard you just transferred from another major. Are you getting used to our class?”
“Do you need help with anything?”
This senior was indeed very enthusiastic.
Chu Yian took three seconds to reply to him.
“Thank you for your concern, senior. My classmates are all very welcoming.”
“Good night, senior.”
After sending the message, she exited WeChat.
WeChat messages were useless now and were delaying her search for clues related to the insects.
