Chapter 157: Aggressive Approach
Most of the creditors were Qian Run’s relatives.
At this moment, they all stared at Qian Run with a look of frustration: “You little brat, we really had bad luck lending money to you.”
Qian Run, however, had an indifferent expression, as if he didn’t care about their criticism, and said, “When I made money trading futures back then, you guys were eager to lend me money. If I hadn’t blown my account, you would still be calling me your little darling.”
The group of creditors was disgusted by his attitude.
The market appraisal of this house at the real estate bureau was 130 million, but even though the final transaction price was clearly lower than the market value, the real estate bureau didn’t investigate further and directly calculated the related taxes based on the appraisal price.
Since it was a full-cash transaction, all the processes went unusually smoothly.
When the transaction was completed, the money was transferred to Qian Run’s account.
Xu Youyou sent two bodyguards to accompany Qian Run and the creditors to the bank for the money transfer.
“You guys are really overdoing it. Why are you watching me so closely? Do you think I would run away? Such suspicious minds!” Qian Run complained the whole way.
But his relatives, old and young, were unmoved. They tightly surrounded him, making sure to keep an eye on him even when he went to the bathroom, afraid he might slip away.
After the creditors received their money, they didn’t rush to leave but kept watching Qian Run, waiting for the out-of-town creditors to return. Only after everyone had received their money did they allow Qian Run to go free.
The bodyguards Xu Youyou had sent returned the next morning, having filmed the entire process to ensure that the mortgage notes had been destroyed and all debts had been paid.
Qian Run sold his house worth over one hundred million, but when all was said and done, the money he had left was less than thirty million. He disappeared without a trace an hour after slipping out of everyone’s sight, as if he had evaporated into thin air.
Xu Youyou successfully obtained the house but didn’t rush to find a renovation team. Instead, she took a full set of tools and went straight into the mansion. She ignored the others and went down into the basement alone.
The basement lights weren’t very bright, but the golden needle of the system still stubbornly pointed to the southeast corner of the basement.
The entire basement, like the corner, was covered with redwood flooring.
Over time, most of the redwood floor had lost its shine, with many areas warped and raised, giving it a dilapidated appearance.
Xu Youyou took out her tools and carefully pried up the floorboards in that area, tapping lightly.
Sure enough, there was a hollow sound beneath.
Without hesitation, she grabbed a large hammer and struck the layer of cement beneath the floorboards.
“Cough, cough, cough.” Xu Youyou turned her head to avoid the dust.
After the dust settled, she shone a flashlight down into the hole. She could see a pit about one square meter in size, roughly 1.5 meters deep.
The pit’s edges were coated with a sealing material, and it was obviously man-made.
Next to the wall, two wooden boxes were stacked.
Xu Youyou’s hand trembled, and the hammer slipped from her grip, landing on the top wooden box.
The box, which seemed quite old, swayed and cracked open with a large tear, revealing what was inside.
Xu Youyou’s breath caught in her throat.
Her flashlight revealed a dazzling array of gold.
The wooden box was filled with gold bars, gleaming in the light.
Xu Youyou nearly fainted with happiness. While others might prefer diamonds or platinum, Xu Youyou had always been a fan of gold!
But then a problem arose—how would she take all this gold?
The space in the secret room was too small, and she didn’t dare jump into the pit, fearing she wouldn’t be able to climb out.
After thinking for a moment, Xu Youyou covered the area with a dirty blanket and then went back to the yard to ask Xu Fang to buy a small ladder and order ten small safes.
Xu Youyou thought four bodyguards were too few.
“Go find twenty more… no, thirty more bodyguards. Just for today. Five thousand each, pick the best ones, and also get a delivery truck,” Xu Youyou instructed.
As soon as she said this, the four bodyguards immediately sprang into action. After all, five thousand a day was quite an attractive offer. They quickly called their friends and brought all their strong, muscular colleagues over.
Though no one knew what Xu Youyou was planning to do, the conditions she offered were so enticing that within an hour, thirty tall, strong bodyguards were gathered in the yard.
The small safes and ladder were also delivered to the basement.
“Boss, if you need any help, just let me know,” Xu Fang said.
Xu Youyou casually nodded and then urged everyone else to leave the basement. She only told Xu Fang, “You stay upstairs and make sure no one comes down to disturb me.”
Xu Youyou knew better than anyone that money could stir up greed, and even though she trusted Xu Fang, she didn’t want her to see the glittering gold in the secret room.
“Daofeng King, you stay on guard. If anyone suddenly comes in, you bite them, understand?” Xu Youyou patted the dog’s head.
Daofeng King wagged its tail so vigorously it almost blurred into a shadow. The dog gave a smug look, as if saying, “Woof woof, I knew you’d rely on me when it counted!”
Xu Youyou smiled and nodded.
Seeing the little dog so dutifully guarding the basement entrance, intently watching the stairs, Xu Youyou finally placed the small ladder down.
She climbed up a few steps and immediately reached the gold bars in the box, which were heavy in her hands.
The gold bars were long and thin, smaller than Xu Youyou had expected, and each was stamped with a set of words: “Guangfu Star Tianhuang Chi.”
The entire box of gold bars wasn’t uniform; each one had a different stamp.
Xu Youyou didn’t count the exact number of gold bars. She felt like a ruthless mover.
After much effort, she managed to move one whole box, filling up the small safes.
When she opened the second box, she was amazed to find another box full of gleaming gold.
Since coming into money, she hadn’t worked this hard in a long time. Yet, she didn’t ask anyone for help and handled it all herself.
By the time all ten small safes were packed, two hours had passed.
Xu Youyou covered the secret room again with the blanket and called the bodyguards down from the yard.
The ten small safes were loaded into the truck, and just as they were about to depart, a strange noise came from outside the yard.
“It’s you.” Liu Dazhi, whom she had met once before, narrowed his eyes as he looked at Xu Youyou.
Xu Youyou looked at the ten or so men in black Tang suits behind him and sensed their aggressive demeanor.
“Little girl, this house belongs to the Red Dragon King. Don’t go looking for trouble,” Liu Dazhi coldly threatened.
Xu Youyou replied, “I’ve already bought the house. The thirty million debt, I’ll pay for Qian Run.”
Liu Dazhi sneered, “Big words, don’t know when to quit.”
He waved his hand, and the ten or so henchmen immediately made their move.
Liu Dazhi thought he could teach Xu Youyou a lesson, but the next second, when he saw dozens of tall, muscular men emerge behind her, his eyes widened in shock.
