Capricorn Escapes

Chapter 88: Capricorn Escapes

Hearing Fang Xiaocao’s shout, Wang Xiao was momentarily stunned.

“Creepy stun baton guy?”

“Who’s that referring to?”

“Me?”

His mind was full of question marks.

“Ahh—!”

The next second, Wang Xiao let out a scream, a fresh wound appearing on his body.

“Damn it…”

He cursed under his breath, swinging his stun baton to force his enemies back.

Meanwhile, after receiving Fang Xiaocao’s orders, Qian Xia and Wan Xiaozhou exchanged a glance and quickly approached Wang Xiao.

Qian Xia pulled out his throwing knives, attempting to find an opening, but the three enemies entangled with Wang Xiao made it difficult to attack without risking friendly fire.

“Sigh…”

He let out a frustrated breath, put away the throwing knives, and drew his dagger. Together with Wan Xiaozhou, he charged forward.

“Creepy guy, don’t be scared!”

“I’m here to help!”

Wan Xiaozhou shouted as he lunged, his dagger slashing toward one of the enemies’ throats.

The enemy reacted swiftly, dodging the fatal strike and countering with a stab toward Wan Xiaozhou’s chest.

Alarmed, Wan Xiaozhou quickly sidestepped. Seeing this, Qian Xia joined the fight, teaming up with Wan Xiaozhou to attack this unknown Zodiac fighter.

The other two enemies fighting Wang Xiao immediately adjusted. One broke away and intercepted Qian Xia.

“Phew—”

With two enemies drawn away, Wang Xiao finally felt a sense of relief. One-on-one was much easier.

Fang Xiaocao kept assessing the situation. If they couldn’t take down these Zodiac fighters quickly, things would turn dire once Capricorn defeated Helan Xiaoyue and Aquarius.

“Aquarius, are you betraying the Blacklist?”

Capricorn’s cold voice reached Fang Xiaocao’s ears. Clearly, Capricorn had recognized Aquarius.

“Capricorn, I’ve already switched sides!”

“You should just surrender!”

Aquarius taunted while dodging Capricorn’s attacks.

“And Gemini?”

Capricorn asked in a chilling tone.

“Dead!”

Aquarius replied indifferently.

“What?!”

Capricorn’s voice noticeably rose.

“How did Gemini die?!”

He demanded.

“Heh…”

“Killed by my princess’s hypnosis!”

Aquarius sneered.

Capricorn’s mind reeled in shock, her movements turning visibly sloppy. Seeing an opening, Helan Xiaoyue’s eyes gleamed. She lunged forward, her twin daggers slashing toward Capricorn’s ribs.

However, Capricorn, a seasoned fighter, quickly regained composure. Twisting her body, she spun out of harm’s way. Her soft sword flicked like a venomous snake, striking toward Helan Xiaoyue’s face.

“Not good!”

Helan Xiaoyue gasped, hastily retreating.

“I’ll deal with you first, traitor!”

After forcing Helan Xiaoyue back, Capricorn sneered and turned her attacks toward Aquarius.

Knowing she couldn’t win in a direct fight, Aquarius immediately ran.

“Traitor, you’re not getting away!”

Capricorn snarled, giving chase.

Fang Xiaocao didn’t hesitate. She raised her gun and fired.

“Bang!”

A shot rang out, the bullet hitting the ground near Capricorn’s foot.

Startled, Capricorn immediately withdrew. No matter how skilled a fighter, a gun was still a gun.

The gunshot shocked everyone on the battlefield.

With Fang Xiaocao covering him, Aquarius seized the chance to put distance between himself and Capricorn. He pulled out his own gun and fired.

“Bang! Bang! Bang!”

Three shots in quick succession.

Capricorn swiftly dodged, evading all three bullets.

“Damn it!”

She cursed, glaring at Aquarius. But Aquarius didn’t give her a chance to counterattack. She raised her gun again.

“Bang! Bang! Bang!”

Another three shots.

Capricorn dodged once more, but this time, uncertainty flickered in his eyes. Knowing she couldn’t afford to take risks, she made a decisive call.

“Retreat!”

As soon as the words left her mouth, Capricorn threw a handful of white powder into the air and fled.

“Bang!”

At the same time, Aquarius fired again.

Capricorn staggered mid-run, but with a few quick leaps, she disappeared into the forest, leaving behind a trail of blood.

With Capricorn gone, the remaining five Zodiac fighters panicked and tried to escape.

“We can’t let them get away!”

Fang Xiaocao shouted.

Hearing her, Aquarius immediately pulled out another gun.

“Bang! Bang! Bang!”

“Whoosh! Whoosh! Whoosh!”

Gunshots and throwing knives flew simultaneously.

Three fleeing Zodiac fighters stiffened and collapsed.

Blood blossomed like crimson flowers. One had three throwing knives lodged in his body. The other two had gunshot wounds—one to the head, the other with two bullets in his back.

The last two fighters hesitated, realizing they had no chance of escaping.

A gunshot rang out.

“Bang!”

One more Zodiac fighter fell lifelessly.

At the same time, Helan Xiaoyue moved like a flash, her dagger cleanly slicing across the last enemy’s throat.

The fighter clutched his neck, blood spilling through his fingers. He collapsed, gasping for breath before going still.

“Phew…”

Seeing the battle won, Fang Xiaocao exhaled in relief. Although they had let Capricorn escape, eliminating five Zodiac fighters had significantly reduced the threat to their team.

“Who are you people?”

Helan Xiaoyue asked warily, gripping her dagger tightly. When she noticed the gun in Fang Xiaocao’s hand, a flicker of caution flashed in her eyes. She had realized that Fang Xiaocao was the leader of this group.

“We were tricked into coming here, just like you.”

Fang Xiaocao holstered her gun, signaling no hostility.

“Aquarius, put the gun away.”

“Understood!”

Aquarius responded and obediently lowered his weapon.

“We came with the Zhi family.”

To reinforce her credibility, Fang Xiaocao invoked the name of Zhi Qi.

At the mention of the Zhi family, both Helan Xiaoyue and Yutian Qi visibly relaxed. As fellow members of prestigious families, they were familiar with the Zhi family’s reputation.
