Chapter 28: Han Xue’s Revenge
Hearing Song Lin’s words, Fang Xiaocao feels tempted.
With the ability of “Hot Noodles” giving her foresight, solving cases wouldn’t be too difficult.
However, she hesitated. Was this great and noble profession really suitable for her?
“Captain Song, can I think about it?” Fang Xiaocao asked weakly.
“Of course!” Song Lin replied with a smile.
He could see the hesitation in her eyes. Though he thought highly of her, he wouldn’t force her into anything.
“If you make up your mind, you can come to me anytime.”
“I’ll give you an answer soon.” Fang Xiaocao nodded and smiled.
“Where do I sign?”
Song Lin pulled out a printed waiver form.
Fang Xiaocao picked up the pen and signed her name.
“All done. Thanks for cooperating.” Song Lin grinned.
“I should be thanking you guys.”
Fang Xiaocao sighed.
“Just thinking about a corpse in this villa gives me the chills. The whole place suddenly feels freezing cold.”
She shuddered at the sight of Villa No. 5.
“Hahaha…”
“This is the real world—science explains everything. Don’t let your imagination run wild.” Song Lin chuckled.
“I know… but it still makes me uneasy!” Fang Xiaocao admitted.
“That’s normal, totally understandable.” Song Lin reassured her.
“Captain Song, do you need me for anything else?”
“Nope, that’s all.”
“Then I’ll head out. Better not stick around, or I might have nightmares tonight.” Fang Xiaocao forced a laugh.
“Alright, go on then.” Song Lin nodded.
Waving goodbye, Fang Xiaocao got into her car.
The red Land Rover roared to life, leaving Villa No. 5 behind.
—
Bar Street was bustling with lights and music.
Dressed to kill, Han Xue swayed her hips as she sashayed into Shen Tao’s KTV.
“What are you doing here?” Shen Tao frowned.
“Brother Shen~”
“I came to apologize~” Han Xue cooed, her voice dripping with honey.
“Apologize?” Shen Tao glanced at her with an icy smirk.
“Haha… I don’t think I deserve that.”
“Brother Shen~”
“I know I was wrong~”
Han Xue smiled seductively, leaning against him, her eyes brimming with allure.
Shen Tao took a sidelong glance at her, enjoying the full view of her stunning figure.
“Spit it out. What do you want?”
“I want a job here, Brother Shen.”
Han Xue grinned, pressing closer to him.
“Oh? Changed your mind?”
Shen Tao raised an eyebrow.
“Mmm~ I have.”
Han Xue winked at him.
“Good. Go to Room 702 tonight for a trial shift.”
Shen Tao smirked, pinching her delicate face.
“Okay~ Anything for you, Brother Shen~”
Han Xue giggled, throwing herself into his arms.
Shen Tao didn’t dodge—he let her do as she pleased.
Half an hour later, Han Xue strutted into the restroom.
Lying back on the couch, Shen Tao watched her seductive figure disappear, an amused smile playing on his lips.
Fang Xiaocao parked outside the gym.
After signing up for a membership, she attended her first combat training class.
“You got this, Fang Xiaocao!”
Fueled by the teasing from “Hot Noodles,” she was determined to shed her weakling image.
“Brother Shen, I’ll be back tonight~”
Outside the KTV, Han Xue blew a kiss to Shen Tao.
“Alright, come by anytime.”
Shen Tao grinned.
“Bye-bye~”
Waving at him, Han Xue got into a taxi.
“To the Second Hospital.”
Her flirtatious expression vanished, replaced by icy coldness.
The taxi drove off, leaving Bar Street behind.
“Qi Yu, you’re up next.”
Han Xue’s eyes gleamed with madness.
The taxi stopped at the hospital entrance. She paid the fare, got out, and walked into the inpatient department.
After slipping into the restroom, she emerged moments later in a nurse’s uniform, mask covering her face.
Han Xue entered the elevator and pressed the button for the third floor.
When the doors opened, she stepped out, glancing around before walking toward the nurse’s station.
Grabbing a tray of medical tools, she moved toward a patient room.
“Hey, which department are you from?”
A nurse at the station called after her.
Han Xue froze for a second before flashing a sweet smile.
“Dr. Li from Infectious Diseases sent me to draw some blood.”
The nurse hesitated, flipping through the schedule.
Seeing that Dr. Li was indeed on duty today, she nodded.
Han Xue smiled and continued toward the patient room.
The two plainclothes officers stationed at the door had overheard the conversation.
They glanced at Han Xue but, seeing nothing suspicious, looked away.
Han Xue pushed open the door.
Inside, a man lay in bed, hooked up to various monitors.
His pale face was eerily still—Qi Yu, the same man who had crashed while fleeing and ended up in the hospital after Fang Xiaocao hit him.
Even wrapped in bandages, he still had a bit of roguish charm.
“Qi Yu, it’s all your fault I ended up like this.”
Han Xue hissed, her eyes flashing with hatred.
She picked up a lancet for checking blood sugar.
Pricking her own finger first, she squeezed out a few drops of blood, smearing them onto the needle tip.
Then, she jabbed Qi Yu’s finger with the same needle.
After a brief hesitation, she pressed her wounded finger against his, holding them together for a full three minutes before pulling away.
“Letting you die would be too easy. You deserve to suffer like I have.”
Her voice was icy cold.
“Shen Tao, Qi Yu…”
“Next up…”
“Fang Xiaocao, it’s your turn.”
Madness flickered in her eyes.
The old pervert who had forced himself on her was riddled with diseases—AIDS, syphilis, and more.
And now, she had tested positive too.
Ever since she received the diagnosis, she had crafted this revenge plan.
While waiting for her test results earlier, she had overheard the plainclothes officers chatting and learned that Qi Yu was a murderer.
After being exposed, he had fled—only to get hit by Fang Xiaocao’s car and land in the Second Hospital’s inpatient department.
The Dr. Li she had mentioned was the very doctor who had diagnosed her that morning.
