Chapter 184: Help Open the Door
[Hot Noodles: The owner of Villa No. 5, who fled abroad, actually established a faction and even sent people back to the country?]
[Hot Noodles: And by a twist of fate, Han Xue even joined this faction?]
Fang Xiaocao could tell that Hot Noodles was just as shocked by this revelation.
“That’s right!” Fang Xiaocao replied.
[Hot Noodles: Your suspicion is valid. I’ll investigate. Han Xue and her group arriving almost at the same time as you is too much of a coincidence.]
Seeing this message, Fang Xiaocao nodded and replied, “Yes, check it out quickly. I won’t feel safe until we find this person.”
[Hot Noodles: Agreed. I’ll look into whether Han Xue’s arrival was a trap or just a coincidence.]
Fang Xiaocao put away her phone and leaned against a tree, deep in thought.
She could understand why the villa owner had created a faction. She must have learned about the Blacklist organization and realized that Taotie was one of them. So, she established her own force to counter them.
Recruiting reckless people like Axi and lunatics like Han Xue also made sense—only people like them would dare to go against the Blacklist. Ordinary people wouldn’t have the guts.
As Fang Xiaocao pondered, the piercing sound of police sirens pulled her back to reality.
She looked toward Villa No. 5.
“The police must be here!” she muttered.
“I just hope they don’t damage my villa too much,” she grumbled.
Bang! Bang! Bang!
Suddenly, intense gunfire erupted.
Fang Xiaocao was startled and quickly hid behind the tree. Even though she knew the gunfight was happening at the villa’s front entrance and stray bullets were unlikely to reach the back, instinctively, she still feared the gunfire.
She also worried that Han Xue and her group might retreat through the back door.
Looking around, Fang Xiaocao realized she was in a bad spot.
If Han Xue’s group decided to flee through the back and use the park’s small forest for cover, there was at least an 80% chance they’d run into her.
A cold sweat broke out on Fang Xiaocao’s forehead.
“Time to retreat!” she whispered and bolted from the park.
She circled back toward the front entrance of the villa but kept a safe distance.
She didn’t want Han Xue to see her.
If that lunatic spotted her, there was no telling what she might do.
Observing from afar, Fang Xiaocao saw that the gunfight was still fierce.
On the police side, Shi Guang was leading the operation.
Clearly, they took Han Xue very seriously—there were more than ten officers present.
They used police cars as cover, exchanging fire with Han Xue’s group, who had taken position in the villa’s attic, firing down at them through skylights.
Seeing this, Fang Xiaocao wanted to cry.
She hadn’t even spent a single night in her villa, and now it was turning into a battlefield.
“Once this is over, I’ll have to renovate again!”
Her hatred for Han Xue deepened.
If she could, she’d rush into the villa and strangle that woman herself.
But she knew she wouldn’t stand a chance.
If she ran out now, she’d just become a living target.
Fang Xiaocao: Feeling blue and frustrated!
After some thought, she decided she had to help the police.
If Han Xue’s group remained in control of the high ground, it would only prolong the fight.
And the longer it dragged on, the more damage her villa would suffer.
With this in mind, she took out her phone and messaged Tom.
“Tom, come here!”
She also sent her location.
Three minutes later, Tom appeared before her.
“Princess, I’m here,” he said.
“Tom, take this remote and go to the police. Tell them you’re my hired housekeeper,” Fang Xiaocao instructed, handing him a white remote.
“This button controls the villa’s electronic locks. This one controls the power system.”
She had grabbed the remote earlier when she fled the villa.
“Understood!” Tom responded without hesitation.
Taking the remote, he quickly and stealthily made his way toward the police.
Fang Xiaocao kept her eyes on him.
Tom was skilled and moved swiftly.
Soon, he reached Shi Guang’s group.
“Officer, hello!” Tom called out.
“Don’t shoot! I’m here to help!”
Shi Guang frowned.
“Who are you?” he asked, signaling his team to bring Tom over.
“I’m the housekeeper for the villa owner. I have a remote that controls the villa’s locks and power. My employer just gave me permission to assist you,” Tom explained.
“Your employer… Xiaocao?” Shi Guang narrowed his eyes.
“Yes!” Tom confirmed with a smile.
“How do you plan to help us?” Shi Guang asked.
“I can use the remote to unlock the villa’s doors and control the power inside, shutting down the electricity to disorient them,” Tom said, showing the remote.
Shi Guang nodded.
“Appreciate your help,” he said.
“No problem, Officer. These people broke into my employer’s villa and are causing trouble. They’re not good people!” Tom replied, feigning righteous indignation.
“Mr. Housekeeper, what’s your name?” Shi Guang asked.
“Tom,” he answered.
“Alright, Mr. Tom, please unlock the villa’s electronic doors. We’re going in,” Shi Guang instructed.
“Got it! No problem!” Tom nodded.
“By the way, does the villa have security cameras?” Shi Guang asked.
“Yes, but I don’t have access to the system from here. I can’t help you with that,” Tom said with a regretful look.
“But don’t worry—there’s no monitor inside the villa, so they can’t use the cameras to track your movements either.”
“Good. Now, please open the doors,” Shi Guang ordered.
“Right away!”
Tom pressed a button on the remote.
Click!
The villa’s electronic lock disengaged.
The once tightly shut doors cracked open slightly.
