Chapter 83: Upgraded! Rewards Disbursed!
The system’s notifications were real-time. When Qiqi’s mom slapped Qiqi’s dad, the system notification on the virtual screen was right before Jian Xingxia’s eyes—
[Congratulations, Estate Owner! You have met the upgrade conditions. The current estate can be upgraded from Level 0 to Level 1. Upgrade immediately?]
Jian Xingxia wanted to upgrade immediately more than anything. However, she wasn’t sure what would happen during the estate upgrade, so she thought it best to return to the old house and watch with her own eyes.
She twisted the throttle to the maximum and charged all the way back into the mountains.
Passing through Lu’an Village, it was right around dinnertime. Quite a few villagers called out to invite her to eat at their homes, but Jian Xingxia declined them all, heading straight for the old house.
She selected “upgrade immediately.”
The system’s virtual screen changed. It was no longer text and numbers, but a virtual 3D blueprint. Jian Xingxia recognized at a glance that the building in the center of the virtual 3D blueprint was the old house.
[The estate has been upgraded. Current estate level: Level 1 Basic Farmstead. Please claim your upgrade rewards.
Upgrade Reward 1: 120-square-meter Farmstead Dwelling (Can be newly built, or used to improve and renovate the original building);
Upgrade Reward 2: 3-kilometer Farmstead Road (Can be newly built, or overlaid onto the original road);
Upgrade Reward 3: Random Farmstead Business Operation Gift Pack * 1.]
Upgraded, upgraded! It finally upgraded! Although only a short thirteen days had passed, Jian Xingxia had literally been looking forward to this day and night.
At this moment, the system prompted her that she could place buildings or lay down roads on the virtual 3D blueprint.
The house from Reward 1 could be newly built, as there were large plots of land in the mountains. But Jian Xingxia chose to renovate. 120 square meters was exactly the area of the old house’s second floor.
She dragged the small green block from the left side of the 3D map onto the old house, adjusting its shape freely until it perfectly covered the second floor. She clicked “Confirm Placement.”
A moment later, the virtual blueprint of the old house’s second floor turned completely blue, displaying:
[Upgrade Time: 5 minutes. Countdown: 4 minutes 59 seconds]
It wasn’t instantaneous? Jian Xingxia was a little dazed, yet filled with anticipation.
Standing on the aluminum alloy ladder that the installation workers had included for free during the solar energy system installation last time, she looked up toward the second floor. Right now, the second-floor area was enveloped in a layer of blue mist, inside of which golden points of light flashed from time to time.
Jian Xingxia was both excited and fearful. She tried to go up, but was blocked at the top of the ladder. She had raised her foot, but the blue mist seemed to have solidified into a physical entity; she couldn’t step through it.
Jian Xingxia quietly took out her phone to record a video. However, the screen only showed a field of blue and nothing else could be seen—the entire second floor was completely obscured by the mist. Unless her camera turned to a spot where the second floor was completely out of sight, the image would return to normal.
“Fine, I won’t record.”
She had long known that this system wouldn’t leave any loopholes for her to exploit.
Jian Xingxia endured a difficult five-minute wait. During this time, she wanted to claim the other two rewards countless times, but she also wanted to adjust her subsequent choices and arrangements based on how the first reward turned out. She still didn’t know just how capable this system really was.
Judging by Management Tasks One and Two from before, the system shouldn’t be stingy. But there were three rewards this time, and she wondered if it would be just as generous.
As soon as the five minutes were up, the blue mist dispersed, and a brand-new second floor appeared before Jian Xingxia’s eyes.
The moment Jian Xingxia lifted her foot, a faint light lit up beneath her feet.
“Wow! Baseboard lighting!”
The empty second floor, which had previously been covered in dust, had completely shed its dingy appearance and become clean and bright. The overall style was minimalist and elegant, featuring log-colored accents paired with white walls.
Right at the top of the stairs on the second floor was a small tea room, furnished with a two-meter log tea table and chairs. Against the wall on one side of the tea room sat a sectional sofa that could accommodate four or five people. On the opposite wall hung several picture frames.
Jian Xingxia walked over and found that inside the frames were not paintings, but decorations paved with various dried fruits, dried flowers, and leaves. Below the frames was a set of log dresser drawers, on top of which sat small bamboo baskets filled with snacks like peanuts, chestnuts, and sunflower seeds.
Directly opposite the entrance was a row of floor-to-ceiling windows, with bar stools placed in front of them. This was a small area for resting, meeting, drinking tea, and snacking.
Jian Xingxia skimmed through it quickly, and before she could even sigh in awe, she turned left into the corridor.
There were three doors in the corridor. Jian Xingxia pushed them open one by one—they were three guesthouse rooms!
The room right next to the tea room was the largest, featuring a one-bedroom, one-living-room layout, along with a small bathroom. The overall area was about 25 square meters. The old house didn’t have any shared public space deductions; 25 square meters meant a solid 25 square meters, and it looked quite large.
Opposite the large suite were two smaller rooms, somewhat resembling a hotel layout. On one side of the entrance was a wardrobe, and on the other side was a bathroom, with a bed, a desk, and a small balcony inside. The small rooms were only about 12 or 13 square meters. But similarly, because there were no public space deductions, even after subtracting the two-square-meter bathroom and the one-square-meter entryway, the remaining space still looked quite spacious.
The right side of the tea room shared the exact same layout. There were two large suites and four small rooms, making a total of six guest rooms. Each room had an independent bathroom and a projecting balcony that didn’t count toward the square footage.
The room decor was simple yet exuded a rustic refinement. The beds, desks, and chairs were all made of logs, feeling warm, smooth, and ancient to the touch. The bedding was pure white, with only a touch of blue added to the borders, looking exceptionally elegant and fresh.
Jian Xingxia slipped into one of the bathrooms. The lighting inside was a warm yellow, featuring a large mirror, a spotless toilet, and an independent shower area. She turned on the faucet—there was even hot water!
Jian Xingxia was absolutely stunned. She could hardly imagine that this was a reward created by the system within five minutes. She pushed open and inspected every single room, finally throwing herself onto a spacious, comfortable bed.
Oh my goodness! Her dream had been realized ahead of schedule! Her ultimate dream before had been to save up enough money to open a guesthouse. But now, the system had directly delivered guesthouse rooms to her! Six guest rooms plus a tea room—if she had renovated this herself, it would have cost hundreds of thousands of yuan, right? But now, the system just handed it over at the drop of a hat!
“I’m rich, I’m rich, I’m rich!”
Jian Xingxia’s eyes were completely filled with dollar signs. For rooms this comfortable, even if she charged fifty yuan a night, it would still be three hundred yuan a day! Rounding it up, she would be earning over ten thousand yuan a month!
Lying on the clean, large bed, Jian Xingxia felt as though money was swirling all around her.
Gold coins +50 +50 +50 …
Just Reward 1 alone was already this amazing! Jian Xingxia jolted, springing up from the bed.
She accepted Upgrade Reward 2. It was a three-kilometer farmstead road, currently displayed as a green line segment that Jian Xingxia could trim and place at will.
Jian Xingxia held down a section and dragged it to the front door of the old house, connecting it to the concrete road previously paved by the village. It consumed 650 meters of length.
