Chapter 5: Excuse Me
The ponytail girl took out a flyer, the same as the one they had.
“Found this.”
At this time, the people from 308 and 309 also came out. The eight players were clearly in pairs in rooms.
Everyone found the same flyer, and the words on the back were also the same.
This was probably all the clues in the rooms. The rest would have to be found by splitting up elsewhere.
Brother Cai looked at the flyer, then glanced at Bai Cha and Xiao Xiao, and said, “You two go take a look in the kitchen.”
Without waiting for their agreement, he pointed to the ponytail girl and Zhong Man.
“You two go to the second floor.”
As for the glasses man and his partner, he arranged for them to go to the first floor.
Of course, Brother Cai didn’t let go of his chosen teammate either. He pointed to Wang Xuming and said, “Go check the faucets in the bathrooms of every room.”
Wang Xuming glanced at him and nodded, seemingly good-tempered.
Some of the others had expressions of suppressed anger, while others were carefully trying to please him, no different from the beginning.
Bai Cha withdrew her gaze, looking harmless and obedient as she went downstairs with Xiao Xiao.
This guest-house didn’t have an elevator. When they reached the second floor, Bai Cha glanced down the corridor.
The corridor was very dark, almost nothing could be seen.
Xiao Xiao was the same. She quickly withdrew her gaze and grabbed Bai Cha’s arm.
“In the game, survival comes first, exploring the plot is second. However, the plot of horror instances is generally not important. Only some story-driven instances require clearly figuring out the plot to clear them.”
As Xiao Xiao spoke, she felt the coldness of Bai Cha’s hand and couldn’t help but sigh.
“I don’t know whether to say you’re lucky or unlucky… In most horror instances, you can survive as long as you can find the balance between the rules. We just need to live here for three days, and we should be able to leave after three days.”
It seemed like it wouldn’t require too much physical exertion, but it was hard to say for sure.
Bai Cha listened attentively, instinctively leaning closer to her as if experiencing imprinting due to her closeness, and said affectionately, “Sister Xiao, does that mean that as long as we can leave this guest-house after three days, we can leave this instance?”
Xiao Xiao felt a bit awkward and annoyed that she was so easily trusting.
So she first said earnestly, “Don’t think of me as a good person. I’m telling you, when you’re in danger, I’ll run faster than anyone else. In an instance, someone who doesn’t take your life is already considered a good person. Don’t be so casually close to everyone!”
Bai Cha blinked, her eyes curving slightly.
“I know, but Sister Xiao, you’re very kind to me. Don’t worry, I know my body very well. If you encounter danger, just run, you don’t need to worry about me.”
The girl’s voice was already soft and delicate. The hoarseness and fatigue from her illness made her sound even more fragile.
Xiao Xiao felt even more uncomfortable.
Her reaction fell into Bai Cha’s eyes, and her smile looked a bit more sincere.
Although perhaps no one else could notice.
Xiao Xiao changed the subject and said, “Usually, after the instance’s clearance conditions are met, the system will directly teleport you out. Our instance should be about surviving for three days. Didn’t you receive a notification when you came in?”
Bai Cha of course hadn’t received anything, but she naturally said, “Wasn’t I sick when I came in? I was drowsy and didn’t hear clearly.”
Xiao Xiao sighed. That was true. Although everyone appeared on the beds in the guest-house, only Bai Cha was unconscious.
“The system’s notification said to stay in the guest-house for three days and survive to leave the game.”
While speaking, they had already arrived at the kitchen door.
The kitchen was at the very end of the first floor. Passing the front desk, you could see a dining hall, and behind the dining hall was the kitchen.
Different from what one might imagine as gloomy, the kitchen looked bright, clean, and warm. There was even something seemingly cooking in a pot, emitting the aroma of meat, which made one’s stomach rumble.
A large slab of meat, like pork, lay on the cutting board.
Xiao Xiao rubbed her stomach.
“So hungry.”
She hadn’t felt hungry before entering the kitchen. And usually, you didn’t feel hunger in instances unless it was a specific instance that required eating.
Her mouth was even constantly watering.
Bai Cha didn’t feel hungry. She never had much appetite when she was sick. The smell of meat in the pot, if she were in a normal state, she might have found it fragrant, but now it was really quite greasy.
So she even retched twice.
Only then did Xiao Xiao shift her gaze from the covered pot to her, and that feeling of hunger lessened slightly.
She realized there must be something wrong with the meat.
Xiao Xiao looked at Bai Cha with a somewhat complicated expression. Maybe being sick had some advantages after all.
Physiological tears welled up in Bai Cha’s eyes, her stomach churned uncomfortably, her already bloodless lips became even paler, with only a faint purple tinge. Her heart wasn’t very good either.
[This is the first time I’ve seen someone in this instance feel like throwing up at the sight of the meat]
[Doesn’t matter, she’ll still die. Even looking at her body makes me uncomfortable. Early death, early reincarnation. Give up, sister. There’s a knife right there, a swipe across the neck and you’re gone, no more suffering in the future]
[Yeah, living like this is so painful]
Bai Cha ignored the comments. Although she had them open, there weren’t many people commenting right now, so they didn’t obstruct her vision, and they could provide some information.
She was mainly thoughtful about the first comment that had floated past.
After thinking for a moment, she put on a shy and hesitant expression and said, “What were the previous instances like? Has this instance been run many times?”
Xiao Xiao saw that she was talking to the comments and hesitated.
The comments…
The audience wasn’t exactly a good bunch.
There were already large numbers of keyboard warriors online in the real world, let alone in a place where lives were at stake.
[Tch, you don’t think you’ll get information from us, do you?]
[It’s not impossible. You eat a mouthful of meat, and I’ll tell you]
[Hahahaha she almost threw up just now, don’t make it so difficult]
The malice in the comments was as expected.
Bai Cha didn’t feel the slightest ripple in her heart. Her performance-oriented personality had always had its own internal logic.
She walked towards the large pot.
[Whoa! She actually went!]
[Hahahaha eat it, eat it quickly. If you really eat it, I’ll give you some points]
[You’re too cruel. The person’s already gone, what’s the point of rewards?]
Bai Cha lifted the lid of the pot.
An even richer meaty aroma wafted out. It was a pot of meat soup.
Xiao Xiao’s eyes locked onto the meat soup almost immediately, and she subconsciously walked over.
Her eyes held greed, and she kept swallowing her saliva.
“Ugh…”
Bai Cha really couldn’t control it and vomited a mouthful of sour liquid into the pot.
She hadn’t eaten anything, so she could only vomit sour liquid. But the scene was still not very pleasant.
At least, Xiao Xiao instantly sobered up.
She looked at Bai Cha with an extremely complicated gaze.
For a moment, she didn’t know whether to say thank you or ask if she was okay.
“I’m sorry, I dirtied the soup in the pot,” Bai Cha said apologetically, covering her mouth, but a hint of joy flashed in the depths of her eyes.
“Will there be any problems?”
Didn’t the rules say that the food was fresh and clean?
[?]
[Why does she seem a bit ‘tea*’? Is she doing it on purpose?]
Tea = when a young woman presents herself as sweet, innocent and kind, but in reality these people are calculating, and all these good qualities are fake.
