I Become a God in the Mysterious World – CH16

Deep Night, Quiet People

Chapter 16: Deep Night, Quiet People

Bai Cha’s chest ached with a dull, heavy pain.

Her heart wasn’t very good to begin with, and being pressed down like this directly made it difficult for her to breathe.

She felt somewhat uncomfortable and wanted to turn over. But she couldn’t move, so in the end, she gave up and continued to keep her eyes closed, maintaining steady breathing.

When she first moved, she clearly felt the thing on her body press down towards her face.

But Bai Cha didn’t panic at all. So what? People turn over when they sleep, isn’t that very normal?

Bai Cha’s body even quickly adapted to this discomfort, and she felt a little sleepy again.

Perhaps unable to find any flaws, the thing left her body.

Bai Cha still didn’t move.

“Hee hee hee…” A piercing child’s laughter exploded in her ears.

Bai Cha frowned, turned over, and covered her ears with the blanket.

The child’s laughter became even louder.

Bai Cha’s head ached from the noise, but she still didn’t move a muscle.

Finally, all the sounds stopped abruptly and disappeared.

Bai Cha kept her eyes closed and still didn’t move.

If that thing had left, then she could continue sleeping. If it hadn’t left…

So it was better not to move. She wasn’t about to challenge opening her eyes and staring at something in the middle of the night.

No one could disturb her sleep, because if she didn’t sleep well, her condition would be very bad for many days in a row.

Her sleep quality was already very poor. Once she stayed up late or all night, it would take a month to recover.

Obviously, her approach was correct.

There was something above her head, and liquid was dripping onto her head, drop by drop.

Sticky, slimy, and with a fishy smell.

Bai Cha was somewhat glad that her fever had mostly subsided and she didn’t feel so nauseous. Her stomach was also empty.

She didn’t know how long she maintained this state.

Until a very deep sense of sleepiness really washed over her.

But as this sleepiness came, she had a bad premonition. She couldn’t sleep.

This wasn’t the sleepiness produced by her own body.

She was very particular about her sleeping environment, and she couldn’t fall asleep under these conditions.

But her eyes were already closed, and opening them might make her meet the gaze of something outside.

So in the end, she still fell into a stupor.

Bai Cha felt herself falling into a “dream.”

She sat up from the bed and could even see herself still lying on the bed.

And, hanging above her head, a female ghost in red clothes suspended there.

The female ghost lowered her head, her long hair hanging down, and fresh blood dripped down, drop by drop, from the ends of her hair.

Bai Cha could see that her face was already covered in blood.

She frowned.

So dirty. Wouldn’t her whole head be covered in blood tomorrow morning?

Looking at Xiao Xiao, she was leaning against the headboard, asleep, with a child lying on her.

The child looked like it had starved to death, skin and bones from hunger, making its head appear extremely large. Its whole body was bluish-black, and it was staring unblinkingly at Xiao Xiao.

Bai Cha now seemed to be in a different world from all of this.

She didn’t know if this counted as her soul leaving her body.

The window had opened at some point, and wind blew in, moving the curtains.

Bai Cha saw outside.

A huge stone statue was right outside the guest-house.

The face of the stone statue was clearly that of the Buddha statue, magnified hundreds of times, making the evil hidden in its eyes even clearer to see.

As Bai Cha looked over, the stone statue’s eyeballs also turned towards her.

Bai Cha’s heart beat faster. She wanted to look away, but it was too late.

“Bai Cha, Bai Cha…”

That murmuring sound exploded in her ears again.

She subconsciously walked towards the window, her eyes vacant.

The corners of the stone statue’s mouth slowly curved upwards, continuing to call Bai Cha’s name.

Bai Cha had already walked to the window, almost only an arm’s length away from the stone statue.

She suddenly slammed the window shut, and with her other hand, she pulled the curtains closed.

In the instant of isolating everything, Bai Cha painfully covered her head.

She had indeed almost been bewitched just now.

But the dodder seed left at the front desk was like an anchor, able to maintain her last bit of sanity.

It just felt like her head was about to be torn apart from the pain.

Her body was trembling, but she was still tightly gripping the curtains.

There was a sound of something hitting the window from outside.

While panting heavily to recover, Bai Cha quickly analyzed the situation before her.

First was her skill.

Since this was her exclusive skill, she naturally had to understand it more.

Now it seemed that the parasitism of the dodder seed not only provided her with a chance to survive but also, because of her connection with the dodder seed, acted like another shackle in the face of the current situation, locking her last shred of consciousness.

Or rather, that dodder seed was originally separated from her.

More would have to wait until the dodder seed bloomed this time.

Then there was the current situation.

If she had been controlled and gone outside just now, what would have happened to her body?

Would it have fallen into eternal sleep, or would it have become like a living corpse?

If it was the former, she would probably have died directly. If it was the latter…

What would the other players’ reactions be when they saw a living corpse?

Bai Cha put herself in their shoes and thought about it. Something like a zombie would probably be directly dealt with.

Could a soulless player be killed?

If so, this was another possibility. The Buddha statue couldn’t directly kill them, otherwise, it wouldn’t need to use rules.

But it could call away their souls, leaving only the shell.

Bai Cha suddenly smiled and slowly straightened up.

So, the game was bound to the soul?
