Moth Attribute Circuit

Chapter 281: Moth Attribute Circuit

Reconstructing the [Moth] attribute circuit within her body was no simple matter. To be honest, Xu Zhi didn’t have any concrete method in mind at all. After all, even when she built the [Lamp] circuit, it could be considered sheer trial and error.

And everything she had learned from textbooks in the real world told her that having two completely different attribute circuits within a single extraordinary being was nothing more than a fool’s dream.

But she had no intention of following so-called “common sense.” After all, she had already broken common sense more than once.

As for how to build an extraordinary circuit from scratch—well, that certainly wasn’t something they taught in class.

She could only fumble her way forward based on her previous experience with constructing [Lamp].

Now, after the [Moth] attribute energy entered her body, Xu Zhi decisively activated her [Authority], first taking control of that energy and guiding it toward where her extraordinary circuit was located.

Part of that space had already been occupied by the [Lamp] circuit.

In fact, a “circuit” was somewhat like a puzzle—an irregular plane, like an intricate picture formed by fine lines.

At this moment, the edges of the [Lamp] circuit looked slightly frayed. In reality, that was simply because it was still growing.

So she couldn’t construct the [Moth] circuit beside it—who knew when the two might collide.

However, before consuming the [Moth] core, she had already come up with a bold idea.

Since it was a plane, could she construct the [Moth] circuit behind the [Lamp]?

As for the shape, she still remembered what her old [Moth] circuit looked like. She could just build it according to that… right?

Xu Zhi tried using [Authority] to guide the [Moth] energy to directly behind the [Lamp]. The circuit was flat, but her body was not—there was still plenty of space behind it.

However, even with the control granted by Authority, as she moved the [Moth] energy, she could still feel something like a sharp blade wandering through her body. It was far from pleasant.

Although Xu Zhi hadn’t expected reconstructing the [Moth] circuit to be easy, the setback came even faster than she had anticipated.

When she tried to manipulate the energy into the shape of the circuit she remembered, she realized… it didn’t work.

First of all, while she could control the energy with great precision—even shaping it into fine threads and slowly assembling it into the form she remembered—that was merely superficial.

Even if it looked nearly identical, it was just an empty pattern resembling a circuit.

It produced no further change, nor did it become part of her.

“So it’s not this…”

She carefully recalled the scene from when she constructed the [Lamp] circuit, comparing it to the present. Then she realized the issue might be that, back then, she hadn’t used her extraordinary ability to control the energy?

But now, the [Moth] energy was right next to [Lamp]. If she removed the control and protection of [Authority], she couldn’t be sure whether a conflict would occur.

“Forget it!”

Gritting her teeth, Xu Zhi directly withdrew [Authority].

In an instant, the [Moth] energy that had been maintaining a structured shape dispersed like smoke. The nearby [Lamp] circuit, as if sensing a threat, immediately reacted—releasing a strong [Lamp] aura that scattered the [Moth] energy in a single moment.

Perhaps the gap between them was too great. Aside from pain, Xu Zhi didn’t experience an actual attribute conflict.

“Still… it seems having too little Moth energy won’t work.”

It would just be blown apart.

She needed to absorb enough [Moth] energy in one go, and construct the circuit while enduring the pressure from [Lamp].

But the danger of doing so was that it could very likely trigger an attribute conflict.

“I have to try it now.”

In the end, Xu Zhi made her decision.

After all, her current level wasn’t that high yet. If she waited until later, when her level increased further, the pressure from the [Lamp] circuit would only grow stronger, making it even harder to construct [Moth].

Having made up her mind, Xu Zhi didn’t hesitate. She picked up the highest-level [Moth] core and swallowed it.

Immediately, a massive surge of [Moth] energy rushed into her body. In an instant, intense pain erupted from her internal organs, as if her entire body was rejecting this foreign attribute.

Relying on sheer willpower and her tolerance for pain, she endured it, while using her mental strength to guide the energy toward the circuit.

As expected, the moment it arrived, without the protection of [Authority], the [Lamp] circuit instinctively began rejecting all non-Lamp energy that approached it.

Unlike the earlier weak traces of Moth, this time the energy wasn’t immediately scattered. It could temporarily withstand the pressure from [Lamp]—but only because the Lamp circuit was merely exerting dominance, not actively attacking.

Even so, the [Moth] energy was rapidly dissipating.

Xu Zhi had to endure the pain while focusing her mind—controlling the [Moth] energy to resist the pressure from the “big light bulb” beside it, while simultaneously trying to construct the circuit. It was no easy task.

Sweat quickly formed on her forehead. Her hands clenched tightly, nails digging into her palms. Her entire body was tense—anyone could tell she was in intense pain.

Yet even though her method was no different from when she constructed [Lamp], the [Moth] circuit still refused to form.

Xu Zhi couldn’t understand it. Whenever she tried to construct it without [Authority], at every key node, it was as if an invisible hand forcibly scattered the completed parts, causing her efforts to collapse at the last moment.

After several attempts, she knew this path wouldn’t work.

So what else could she do?

The remaining [Moth] energy was already running low, yet she hadn’t even formed a basic outline. Worse still, absorbing so much Moth energy at once had caused her body to start convulsing. If she continued, an attribute conflict was inevitable.

Xu Zhi realized—this was a moment where she had to stake everything.

She wasn’t unfamiliar with such moments. She had faced them many times before, and every time, she had made the right decision.

This time would be no different.

Quick. Think of something.

Her mind raced. Just as the remaining [Moth] energy was about to dissipate completely, her “gaze” fell upon the brightly glowing [Lamp] circuit beside it.

Since this path didn’t work, then—

Try the one that does!

Without hesitation, she directly began constructing the [Moth] circuit by following the structure of the [Lamp] circuit right beside it.
