Jiang Yu relayed the earlier conversation between Qian Lin and Ma Dapao to Su Tao.
Su Tao sighed, “She’s really devoted to the plantation. Let’s bring her along next year. This year, I need Ma Dapao to expand Taoyang’s connections.”
Just as she finished speaking, Lei Xing’s voice came from afar:
“Why are you sighing? I heard Taoyang’s reputation is booming. Even my new employer asked me about it.”
Su Tao checked the time, feeling a bit puzzled. “Aren’t you supposed to be training right now?”

Su Tao widened her eyes. “You got into a fight at the summit?”
Lei Xing huffed, “He was bullying my people. I already held back by not killing him. That was me giving the organizers face.”
Su Tao looked at him with admiration.
A summit this formal, with so many big names, and yet he just went ahead and fought someone. Only Lei Xing could pull that off.
Lei Xing shoved two invitation letters into her hands. “Take your people and go.”
Su Tao hesitated and tried to return them. “This isn’t right… These are pretty valuable.”
It was rumored that summit invitations were selling for sky-high prices outside, and people were still scrambling to buy them.
Lei Xing clicked his tongue. “What’s the big deal? I seriously don’t want to go. If you don’t take them, just throw them away.”
Only then did Su Tao accept them, though she felt like she was taking advantage of him. “Actually, I already have five slots. I feel bad taking more.”
Lei Xing said, “Then bring more people. I just saw Qian Lin looking eager. Take her. And take Wu Zhen, too—he’ll add to your prestige.”
Seeing her still hesitate, Lei Xing’s tone turned sharp. “Are you seriously being polite with me?”
Su Tao immediately stuffed the invitations into her pocket. “Thanks, big bro!”
She owed him one now. She couldn’t just take advantage of him for nothing.
Lei Xing nodded in satisfaction and added, “But don’t learn from me. I don’t care about offending people, but you can’t afford to be reckless. If you run into trouble at the summit, don’t handle it yourself—come find me.”
“Find you?”
Lei Xing nodded. “My employer is from Changjing and will be attending the Southern Alliance Summit. I’ll escort him to the venue and wait outside. You’ll see me there.”
Su Tao didn’t respond right away. Instead, she asked, “So you’re leaving for Changjing tomorrow?”
If she really ran into trouble, she would prefer to hit back and then flee. Dragging Lei Xing into it would be unfair.
“Yeah.”
Su Tao nodded. “Then be careful.”
The next morning, Leopard Path’s team set off early. Just like last time, Chen Yang threw a fit about wanting to go with them, but in the end, he was left standing there, watching the dust settle in the distance with red-rimmed eyes.
The vehicles had disappeared, but he was still stubbornly staring into the distance.
Zhuang Wan nearly kicked him out, just to show him how dangerous the world outside really was.
Su Tao walked over, ruffled his hair, and reasoned with him.
“Lei Xing’s team is heading to Changjing this time. The journey is long and extremely dangerous. Your mother and I would be too worried. We’re not keeping you here on purpose. If next time they have a mission that’s closer and less dangerous, I promise we’ll let you go. Okay?”
Chen Yang felt much better and looked up at his mother with teary eyes.
Zhuang Wan reluctantly nodded.
After dealing with the rebellious teenager, Zhuang Wan sighed. “Honestly, with the way he is, I don’t feel comfortable going to the summit. What if he sneaks off the moment I leave?”
Qian Lin quickly chimed in. “I’ll keep an eye on him. You go ahead without worry.”
The next second, Su Tao stuffed two invitation letters into her hands.
“Actually, you might not be able to help with that anymore. We’ll have Old Mei and Yun Lan watch over Chen Yang. You and Wu Zhen are coming with us to the summit.”
Qian Lin was shocked. “Where did these come from?”
Weren’t summit invitations supposed to be incredibly rare? How did their boss keep pulling more out of nowhere?
Su Tao briefly explained the situation.
Qian Lin’s face lit up. “Thank you, boss! And thanks to Captain Lei—I’ll call him later to thank him personally.”
Qian Rongrong muttered under her breath,
“Captain Lei treats Sister Tao so well. Whenever something good happens, he always thinks of her first.”
She didn’t mean anything by it, but everyone who heard it had the same thought.
No one said anything, though. They just exchanged knowing glances and chuckled.
Su Tao put her hands on her hips. “Keep teasing me, and there’ll be no late-night snacks for you tonight!”
Everyone laughed and changed the topic.
After the lighthearted moment, Meng Qian came over to report on the new tenants.
As of today, all the new rental units had been filled, and all tenants had completed their check-in procedures.
Including the seven rooms previously rented by Leopard Path, the first month’s rent income totaled 955,000 federal credits.
With this, Su Tao’s total assets reached 7.8 million.
