“What did you just say?” Su Tao asked again, unsure if she heard correctly.
Gu Mingchi turned around and left.
Hui Su followed behind with a smile. “Boss Su, if there’s nothing else, we’ll be heading back now.”
Su Tao waved her hand. “Alright, just leave some people at the door to move the supplies.”
Gu Mingchi turned back. “And the vegetables.”
Su Tao was impatient. “Yeah, yeah, I got it.”
Once they were gone, Su Tao instructed Fang Zhi to purchase the supplies from the vending machines.
After buying everything from Gu Mingchi’s list, they stored them in his space before loading them onto his truck. His people would then sort and transport them.
Watching the fully loaded truck drive away, Su Tao felt a pang of pain.
The total cost was just over 100,000, but if she had sold the supplies to Wutai or Hekang, she could’ve made a clean profit of 300,000.
So, in reality, she had lost 100,000 on this deal.
She comforted herself—spending 100,000 to ensure peace for Zhong Gaoyi and his family of four wasn’t a bad deal.
After sorting through her thoughts, the pain lessened. Feeling better, she gathered Zhuang Wan, Meng Qian, Qian Rongrong, and Fang Zhi for a meeting with Gan Hongyu and Feng An in the small conference room.
Gan Hongyu, holding her laptop, presented their work:
“Boss Su, this is our website’s homepage. The top section features a long banner. The background images were taken by Photographer Fan—there are three in total.
The first is of Taoyang’s entrance—it looks quite grand.”
“The second shows the small fountain with children playing around it.”
Su Tao really liked this one. It even included Chen Yang, exuding a lively, youthful vibe.
“The third image showcases the interior design of a home. This one is from Aunt Cen’s place—she keeps it spotless, and the furniture is well-maintained. It was the most suitable photo for the homepage.”
Su Tao looked at the bold slogan on the banner:
“Quality Rental Housing – Choose Taoyang”
The subheading read: “A Peach Blossom Spring for Millions of Wanderers”
She chuckled. “You guys are really versatile—even writing ad copy now.”
Gan Hongyu, a little embarrassed, admitted, “We shamelessly asked Teacher Xiao Sheng to write it for us. We don’t have the skills to make it sound this simple and catchy.”
Gan Hongyu then introduced three key sections below the slogan:
“Vacancy Info,” “Supply Requests,” and “Personnel Management.”
“If there are vacant units, Manager Xiao Meng can post the details under ‘Vacancy Info.’ Prospective tenants can then submit an application form directly under the listing instead of emailing.”
Meng Qian’s eyes lit up. “This is so convenient.”
Encouraged, Gan Hongyu and Feng An continued:
“The ‘Supply Requests’ section works similarly. Boss Su, you can upload photos of goods, set prices, specify dimensions, weight, and shelf life.
When a base or organization wants to buy something, they add it to their cart, pay, and place an order. The system then forwards the order to our backend, where you can prepare the supplies and mark them as ‘Ready for Pickup.’”
Su Tao gave them a thumbs-up.
Gan Hongyu and Feng An exchanged happy glances before moving on:
“The ‘Personnel Management’ section allows job postings. Job seekers can apply for positions by submitting their resumes, which will go directly to Manager Zhuang for review.
There’s also an internal feature for payroll processing. Once employee details are recorded, Rongrong can easily calculate monthly wages and process salary payments with one click.”
Qian Rongrong’s cheeks flushed with excitement. “That’s really helpful—it’ll improve efficiency a lot.”
Gan Hongyu and Feng An beamed.
“There’s also a news section for Taoyang updates and photos, so we’ll need Photographer Fan’s help there.
Lastly, in the bottom right corner of the homepage, there’s a QR code for downloading our app. The web features will all be included in the app, but that’ll take another two weeks to complete.”
Su Tao nodded. “No rush for the app. When does the website go live?”
Everyone looked at them expectantly.
Gan Hongyu confidently replied, “We’re planning for a September 1st launch, with the app following on September 6th. Is there anything you’d like us to improve?”
Everyone shook their heads—completely satisfied.
After the meeting, the team showered Gan Hongyu and Feng An with praise.
Su Tao later discussed giving them a bonus with Qian Rongrong.
For once, the usually frugal Qian Rongrong was generous. After thinking for a moment, she suggested:
“Instead of a cash bonus, why don’t we cover their three daily meals?”
Food was still quite expensive—even within Taoyang, meals cost around 150 per day.
Providing meals would not only ensure they ate well but also save them a significant amount of money.
Su Tao immediately approved.
Qian Rongrong happily updated their employee records to reflect the new benefit and sent them an email notification.

Su Tao received a call from Hui Su.
“Boss Su, we’ve received all the supplies—thank you! This really solved a major problem for us. Especially those 20 pounds of vegetables—some of our younger guys had never even seen them before. They were so excited, they made vegetable porridge this morning.”
Su Tao chuckled. “Glad to hear it. By the way, has your friend decided on renting land?”
Hui Su glanced at his boss, who was carefully eating his vegetable porridge with a restrained expression. “I’ll keep an eye on it.”
Then, lowering his voice, he added:
“Boss Su, our boss may seem difficult, but he actually has a soft heart. If someone treats him well, he remembers it. Don’t take yesterday’s incident too seriously.”
Su Tao, who had already let it go, just shrugged. “I’m not as petty as him. Besides, regarding Dr. Zhong’s case, he’s the one who suffered a loss. Letting him vent a little and get some extra supplies isn’t a big deal.”
Hui Su was delighted. “That’s great! I’ll contact you when we need more supplies. Also… I heard you often chat with the old master. Our boss doesn’t say much, but he’s actually really grateful to you.”
After hanging up, Su Tao put Gu Mingchi completely out of her mind and prepared to check on Guan Zining’s recovery.
But just as she stepped downstairs, Qian Rongrong ran over in a hurry:
“Sister Tao, I just received an anonymous deposit of 400,000. Did you send it? Why would you do it anonymously?”
Su Tao suddenly recalled Hui Su’s words from earlier.
Her emotions were mixed, but the strongest feeling was exasperation.

Was he just messing with her?
Did he do it on purpose just to see her reaction?

Su Tao sighed in frustration and waved it off. “Forget about who sent it—just keep it.”
