Chapter 308: Three Points
Ning Xiyue returned to her room and sat on the kang, soaking her feet. Soon, Chen Yechu came in carrying a foot bath.
“Quick, sit down. I’m ready to hear your story.”
Ning Xiyue nudged her foot bath slightly closer to Chen Yechu so she could sit nearer. Her clear eyes sparkled with anticipation, her lips curved in a small smile, and she leaned slightly to the left, looking at Chen Yechu expectantly.
“All right, I’ll tell you,” Chen Yechu replied with a bright smile, her radiant face showing a hint of joy. She placed the foot bath on the floor and sat down on the kang near Ning Xiyue, slipping her feet into the water. Once settled, she began recounting today’s events.
“I really agree with what you told me before: to be the one in control, I have to take charge of him. That’s exactly what I did today.”
Chen Yechu proudly lifted her chin, her expression full of expectation as if silently saying, “Ask me now!”
Ning Xiyue played along, asking, “So, what did you do?”
Getting the response she wanted, Chen Yechu rubbed her feet together in the water and, smiling from ear to ear, continued:
“Three points in total.”
“The first point is not to let him succeed too easily.
This morning, when he confessed, I pretended to be surprised. I said that I hadn’t felt his pursuit yet and that it was too sudden to make me his girlfriend directly—it seemed insincere. For a major life decision like this, I need to feel his full sincerity and love before agreeing. Nothing should be taken lightly.”
Hmm, not bad—this is just the first point.
Ning Xiyue eagerly anticipated the next points and prompted, “How did he react?”
At this, Chen Yechu’s face lit up with a sweet smile:
“Although he seemed a little disappointed, he quickly promised me that he would pursue me with full sincerity, so that I would willingly agree. Empty words mean nothing; I’ll watch his future actions. He promised to always treat me well.”
“Whoa, I didn’t expect usually stoic Yu Zhiyu to have this side—he’s actually quite persuasive,” Ning Xiyue teased, then, seeing Chen Yechu’s shy but happy smile, asked again, “What’s the second point?”
“The second point: I set a rule in advance. If we become a couple, everything follows my decision. If I say go east, we don’t go west. If I’m wrong, then it’s absolutely wrong. Big or small matters, follow me. If you can’t do that, don’t pursue me.”
As Chen Yechu described the second point, her expression was assertive and commanding, decisive, with no trace of a lovesick daze.
Ning Xiyue was reassured—this was the true strong heroine. Whether a man obeys or not isn’t her concern; she only cared that Chen Yechu was well.
She clapped her hands enthusiastically. “Impressive, impressive! Did he agree?”
Chen Yechu nodded with satisfaction. “Yes, without hesitation. He said he would always respect me, and my will would be his will.”
“That’s more like it. And the third point?”
Ning Xiyue’s eyes sparkled with anticipation as she waited for the third point.
“The third point: I decided in my heart—if he ever betrays me or does anything behind my back, I’ll take scissors and—snap—cut him!”
As Chen Yechu said this, she pulled a pair of scissors from somewhere, making a clicking sound. Her face turned fierce, the endless joy in her eyes replaced by coldness. She stared blankly into the void, as if seeing some disgusting sight through it.
Chen Yechu’s past experiences clearly influenced her feelings about relationships. Ning Xiyue felt for her and only wished that this lifetime would spare her from any hurt.
Wanting to ease her mood, Ning Xiyue deliberately raised her pinky in a delicate gesture and teased: “Eek, that’s too bloody, Yechu. We’re pretty girls—we should be gentle. Here, don’t touch that filth. I have a treasure for you, hehe.”
Ning Xiyue knelt on the kang, took a cloth bag hanging nearby, and pulled out a small box. She removed a pitch-black pill, chuckling mischievously before solemnly handing it to Chen Yechu.
“This is for you. I accidentally made this pill before and called it the ‘Eunuch Pill.’ One dose, and forget about cheating. Even if someone completely naked is on him, there’s no reaction. It can even make him infertile. Sometimes eunuchs still have physiological reactions, but anyone who takes this becomes completely useless, undetectable.
This is an enhanced version, 100% potent.”
Ning Xiyue placed the pill in the box and gave it to Chen Yechu, whose eyes gleamed obsessively at the medicine, adding a warning: “This is your protection. The pill is extremely rare and damages heaven and earth—use with caution.”
“Mm, I’ll keep it safe. If Yu Zhiyu ever betrays me, I’ll use it. Otherwise, it’ll stay put.”
Chen Yechu treasured it, putting it in her chest of drawers—actually storing it in her magical storage compartment.
Meanwhile, Yu Zhiyu, who had been discussing how to pursue a girl with Ning Qingyuan in the boys’ dorm, shivered for no reason.
Ning Qingyuan asked with concern: “Zhiyu, what’s wrong? Cold? Here, wear this.”
Yu Zhiyu waved it off. “Nothing. Not cold. Maybe the rain cooled the air. Let’s continue.”
Outside, a light drizzle fell. From a tattered shed in the camp came harsh coughs and intermittent groans.
In the wild, cat cries echoed like a baby’s wails, plaintive and unending.
