Chapter 310: Delivering the Photographs
Luo Dongchuan froze for a moment before snapping back to reality.
Taking photographs didn’t cost much money, but the people in the delegation would bound to feel indebted to Su He for the favor.
It was truly bizarre—when Su He lived with the Shen family, she didn’t possess a single fraction of a strategic mind. How had she turned this exceptionally shrewd after throwing herself into the river?
Had it not been for the present times forbidding feudal superstitions, he would have assumed Su He was possessed by a ghost!
However, it was only natural for someone’s temperament to alter completely after sustaining a catastrophic life shift.
As for taking photographs, it was no big deal either, so they might as well take them!
Therefore, he agreed.
The exact moment Luo Dongchuan agreed, Su He headed over to find Director Feng with absolute compliance.
“Director Feng, when we arrived yesterday, you mentioned taking back that borrowed color camera in passing. You still remember that business, right?”
Director Feng nodded. “Of course I remember. I’ll go fetch it once the training concludes.”
“Don’t wait for the training to conclude; go fetch it right now! I’ll use the camera to take a grand group photograph for everyone when the time comes, and we’ll count it as a sponsorship from our textile factory!”
Director Feng: “…”
Do you feel I look exactly like a sucker?
How come all these chores fall squarely upon the textile factory’s head?
Why on earth don’t you go find the food factory or the machinery factory?
“Director, I’m doing this to elevate the brand awareness of our An County Textile Factory. If you feel it’s inappropriate, then I’ll look for a photography master and have the food factory foot the bill. I believe Director Tian will surely be highly delighted!”
Director Feng said in a great, frantic hurry, “Little Su, when did I ever say it was inappropriate?
“It’s merely a small gesture of assistance anyway, and we’ll only expend a bit of cash on film and developing the prints—it’s nothing major. I’ll take a public bus to fetch the camera right now.”
Su He blinked her large eyes. “A camera is an expensive, precious item, so riding a public bus isn’t secure. I’ll go find Uncle Luo and have him arrange a vehicle.”
Director Feng thought to himself that it seemed Little Su and Section Chief Luo truly were genuine relatives, otherwise she wouldn’t act this unceremonious.
Her “genuine relative,” Section Chief Luo, didn’t utter a sound for a long while after hearing Su He’s words.
Such a fine, bright young girl—how can her skin be this incredibly thick?!
In the end, he still agreed.
A group photograph could barely be counted as official business, so dispatching a vehicle wasn’t considered a violation of the rules either.
Once the camera was borrowed and brought back, Director Feng assumed Su He would arrange for everyone to take the group photograph the very next day, but she made no move.
It wasn’t until the training concluded on the third day that Su He brought up the photography business with a beaming smile, further leaving a trace of an unnoticeable mark to mention that the An County Textile Factory had sponsored it.
Jokes aside, when performing a good deed, one naturally had to leave their name!
In these times, color photographs were still a rare, prized novelty, so everyone agreed with immense joy.
Su He had had Luo Dongchuan locate a person who knew how to operate a camera ahead of time. In reality, she knew how to use it herself, but she had to participate in the group photo, after all!
Once the photographs were taken, Su He spoke to everyone with a beaming smile, “I estimate it’ll take a couple of days for the prints to be developed. For those who live close by, I’ll deliver them to you personally, and for the comrades who live further away, I’ll bring them into your hands when we participate in the Canton Fair.”
Everyone answered with a jumble of voices. Since it was completely complimentary anyway, receiving them a few days later was no big deal.
Director Tian rolled his eyes, instantly grasping Su He’s underlying design.
Delivering the photographs was merely a pretext. With this excuse, she could stroll right into the other party’s factories. By chatting for a few words then, the relationships would turn vastly closer and more familiar.
Sigh, credit where credit is due, Little Su truly possesses far too many strategic thoughts.
Recalling when I was young back then, I wasn’t half bad either, but now that I’m old, I lack that driving energy.
In reality, Su He held another layer of design.
Although Luo Dongchuan appeared to have defected, one still had to guard against a fence-sitter like him.
By heading to the various factories to deliver the photographs, she could also seize the opportunity to inquire about more matters regarding the Canton Fair, lest she be thoroughly hoodwinked by Luo Dongchuan when the time came.
Three days later, the photographs were developed.
Su He drove the sedan by herself and began delivering the prints from door to door.
Director Tian was genuinely terrified that his broken car would die on the road, leaving his heart in constant trepidation every single day.
In reality, Su He had swapped out every single core component inside the vehicle; it was just that it couldn’t be discerned from the exterior appearance.
The performance of her car could be said to be vastly better than the brand-new cars on the market, meaning a breakdown simply didn’t exist.
Su He never went empty-handed on her visits, either gifting instant noodles and canned goods or presenting fabric and hair accessories—regardless of whether they were valuable or not, it left the other party feeling immensely comfortable in their hearts.
When she returned, she rarely came empty-handed either. The other parties were prominent figures within their enterprises after all, and basically everyone would offer a return gift.
Enamel basins, massive iron pots, dried scallops, dried fish…
A jumbled, diverse assortment, even including a jade cornucopia.
Su He loved that jade cornucopia the absolute most. Although the material used was ordinary, the underlying meaning was magnificent!
Interpersonal interaction was a mutual give-and-take; between a single giving and taking, relationships turned closely acquainted.
Seeing Su He busy to the back of her head, her shadow nowhere to be seen for entire days, Director Feng wanted to give her a word of tapping reinforcement. “Little Su, we all have to take the train together when the Canton Fair starts anyway. You can just hand the prints over to them when we meet then—why on earth must you go from door to door to deliver them?!
“This wastes far too much time, and we still have a great deal of preliminary preparation work left undone!”
Su He blinked her large eyes. “Director, I’m merely doing this for our textile factory’s sake!
“We’ve been assigned to the food exhibition area. Although we can think of ways to attract clients over, they won’t be our target clients after all, meaning our positioning isn’t that precise.
“I noticed the booths for the silk factory and the enamel factory are both quite excellent. When the time comes, we can place a portion of our hair accessories over on their side—reaping extra rewards while handling our main task. We might just hit upon unexpected gains.
“Therefore, I must build excellent relationships with them so I can borrow their booths to use when the time comes.
“Of course, if you feel I am wasting time, then I’ll stay back submissively in An County!”
Director Feng: “…Well, Little Su, the textile factory doesn’t just have you alone, and the other people aren’t freeloaders either. If there are chores, you can have them do them!
“You go handle your business; you only need to leave a directive word, and I’ll arrange the specific tasks.”
My goodness! Previously I only knew about freeloading rides and freeloading food, but a booth can actually be freeloaded too?
Although this Little Su is sometimes unconventional, she truly possesses exceptional capability!
“Director, I happen to be heading to the provincial capital today. Give me the contact details for the printing factory, and I’ll deliver the layouts for the product handbooks over.”
Director Feng lamented in his heart once more—although Little Su was busy like a spinning top, her mind was still highly clear and precise.
Aside from her ambition being a bit massive, this girl wasn’t bad.
“Oh right, Director, approve a few more oil coupons for me. Driving out a lot lately consumes far too much gasoline!”
Director Feng: “…”
I don’t use as many oil coupons in a full year as you have during these past two months!
After being busy for another half a month or so, the time for departure arrived.
The Beiliao Province exhibition delegation gathered at the train station to assemble.
This left Su He completely exhausted from the sheer busyness!
From time to time, people walked over to greet her, and it was a rare feat that she could match their names to their faces, exchanging pleasantries with them one by one.
Luo Dongchuan: “…”
If someone didn’t know the truths, they would assume you were the head team leader of the Beiliao Province delegation!
