Doomsday: Scavenging in a Survival Game – CH164

The Surgery Begins

Chapter 164: The Surgery Begins

As the surgery was about to begin, Zhang Fenghua signaled for Su Ning to introduce herself to everyone.

Su Ning smiled and said:

“My name is Su Lingling. As you’ve seen, my ability lies in crafting certain special medicinal agents.”

Upon hearing that name, Nan Sheng, who was preparing surgical supplies, suddenly felt a wave of familiarity—it felt like she’d heard it somewhere before. The feeling grew stronger until a figure flashed through her mind, making her heart jolt.

She looked up at Su Ning and met her gaze.

Su Ning playfully winked at her.

Nan Sheng immediately understood—her guess had been correct. This person really was Su Ning.

She couldn’t help but think:

“Why didn’t I realize it sooner?”

However, Nan Sheng didn’t expose Su Ning’s true identity on the spot, because she knew that if Su Ning had chosen to disguise herself, she must have a reason and a plan.

So, out of respect for her, Nan Sheng remained silent.

What truly shocked Nan Sheng, though, was the drug-creation ability Su Ning was demonstrating now.

“As expected of Su Ning. Her strength is incredible,” she thought.

Nan Sheng’s admiration for her only deepened. She saw Su Ning as a role model and goal, hoping that one day she could be as outstanding as her.

Meanwhile, Elder Zhu (Zhu Sheng) was also quite intrigued by Su Ning. Watching her display her talent, he joked:

“What do you young folks say these days? With an ability like this, you’re practically born to be a doctor!”

Everyone else:

“Wow, Elder Zhu is surprisingly up-to-date.”

With Su Ning joining the team, the surgical preparations moved forward rapidly.

Lin Lele, being part of the relief team, naturally went all out to help her friend.

At that moment, she led a little girl into the surgical room.

As soon as the girl entered, her face showed clear worry and fear.

Seeing the child, everyone couldn’t help but feel pity—because only parasitized residents were brought in for surgery.

The little girl looked at Lin Lele and asked in a trembling voice:

“Big sis… what are we going to do? I’m a little scared…”

Her young, frightened face tugged at everyone’s hearts.

Nan Sheng quickly walked over to her, crouched down, and gently comforted her:

“Don’t be afraid, sweetie. See? We’re all doctors. You’re just here for a little check-up. Once it’s done, you’ll feel much better.”

Her voice was warm and reassuring, helping the little girl slowly relax.

Nan Sheng then nodded toward the team to begin the procedure.

With skilled hands, the anesthetic was administered, and the little girl soon fell into a deep sleep.

Led by Elder Zhu and Nan Sheng, the surgery team began the tense operation.

Meanwhile…

Mu Feiyu was moving quickly to locate the person controlling the parasite monsters behind the scenes.

After learning about the attack on Shelter No. 6, he discovered that Liu Jianjun had several man-eating monsters under his control—ones that had not yet been killed.

Using his Identification Eye, Mu Feiyu examined those monsters and found out the name of their master:

Yan Liuxing

From that moment, Mu Feiyu knew: Yan Liuxing was the mastermind.

Now that he had a name, it felt like half the battle was won. All that remained was finding Yan Liuxing and having Tang Yuanbin take action. Then, the rescue mission could be completed.

However, things were not as simple as Mu Feiyu imagined.

Yan Liuxing seemed to know someone was hunting him, and had hidden himself very well.

Tang Yuanbin asked:

“Well? Have you found him yet?”

They had already searched inside and around the shelter, and Mu Feiyu had scanned many people, but still no sign of Yan Liuxing.

Mu Feiyu replied:

“It’s possible he has a talent that lets him hide. I haven’t located him yet. But don’t worry—it’s only a matter of time. No one can escape my identification.”

He looked around with confidence.

Since acquiring this powerful talent, no one had ever escaped his gaze.

But just then, from the direction of the operating room, a sudden scream rang out.

Both Tang Yuanbin and Mu Feiyu turned toward the sound, staring intently in that direction.

“What happened in there?!”

Startled by the outburst, the two immediately became alert.

Then came a shrill, piercing screech—a sound clearly not human.

Their faces darkened. It seemed something had gone wrong during the surgery.

Let’s rewind a few minutes.

The surgery on the little girl had already been going on for quite some time.

According to Mu Feiyu’s earlier scans, over a dozen residents in Shelter No. 6 had been parasitized. But why was the girl chosen first?

The answer was simple:
The parasite inside her was nearly mature and would burst out of her body within a day.

That’s why her surgery had to happen first.

She now lay quietly on the operating table, while Zhu Sheng and Nan Sheng worked with total focus.

Their eyes were sharp with determination, and their hands were precise and practiced.

Finally, under their careful efforts, a black mass wrapped in liquid was slowly extracted from the girl’s body.

The tumor-like mass looked strange and grotesque—its surface smooth and rubbery, and it trembled faintly. Inside, something dark and terrifying was curled up.

But just as Nan Sheng used a scalpel to cut the fleshy cord that linked the parasite to the girl’s body, something unexpected happened.

The black sac suddenly burst open, and a small creature shot out from within.

It had a black body, red eyes, and a mouth full of razor-sharp teeth—a truly horrifying sight.

Both Zhu Sheng and Nan Sheng were caught off guard, expressions of shock frozen on their faces.

“Stop that thing!” Nan Sheng cried out in panic.

At that moment, detailed information about the creature flashed through Su Ning’s mind:

Monster: Parasitic Man-Eater
Talent: Rapid Growth – Gains strength by consuming life.
Skill: Bite
Master: Yan Liuxing

This parasitic monster was unlike anything Su Ning had seen before. It showed a completely new form and terrifying potential.

If left unchecked, it would bring disaster.

Zhu Sheng and Nan Sheng knew the situation was critical. But they had no time to deal with the creature—they had to focus on saving the girl’s life.

Everyone else was stunned. They were all medical staff, and not trained for combat.

Zhang Fenghua had already left before the surgery, heading elsewhere to help manage the crisis.

Seeing the chaos unfold, Lin Lele didn’t hesitate—she activated her talent, trying to restrain the monster.

She quickly wove her hair into a tight net and wrapped it around the creature.

But the monster was exceptionally fierce—it easily broke free of her control and lunged straight for the little girl.
