Doomsday: Scavenging in a Survival Game – CH148

The Effect of the Jinxed Mouth

Chapter 148: The Effect of the Jinxed Mouth

The ambushers were four in total. The leader was a man named Murata Iga, a person from Sakura Nation (Japan).

His three henchmen were also from Sakura Nation.

Su Ning raised an eyebrow. Once she examined their profiles, it was clear they weren’t here for anything good — it was obvious they had their eyes on her and Youyou.

She glanced over, and detailed profiles of the four appeared in front of her.

[Player: Murata Iga]
Talent: Animal Affinity – Increases affinity with animals.
Skill: Mental Whip – Conjures a whip to strike the target. Has a 10% chance to make the target obey commands.
Item: Planting Space

As for the other three? Their profiles were basically trash — not even worth paying attention to.

Su Ning stared at Murata Iga, who wasn’t even as tall as her. From the way his lackeys spoke, it was obvious: this guy had his eyes on her tiger, Youyou.

Murata Iga’s eyes shone with greed. Before the apocalypse, he had been a zookeeper in charge of caring for various animals. After the survival game began, he awakened the Animal Affinity talent, and in the post-apocalyptic dungeons, he had managed to tame various beasts.

At a glance, he could tell Youyou was a monster with massive potential.

So — he had to have this tiger.

What? You ask how to tame a beast that’s already bonded to an owner?
Simple: eliminate the owner, and it becomes ownerless.

With that, Murata Iga turned his gaze to Su Ning.

“Miss, as long as you voluntarily hand over the beast, I promise you’ll be unharmed. But if you refuse…”

He signaled with his eyes to his henchmen. The four grinned, openly leering at Su Ning.

“Not much to look at, but her body’s not bad.”

Su Ning looked at them like they were garbage. Her expression was filled with disgust.
And Youyou? The tiger immediately bared its teeth and roared at Murata Iga.

But instead of being afraid, Murata Iga looked even more excited. His face flushed as he clutched his cheeks and exclaimed:

“Ah~ What a beautiful pet. Come now, be a good girl. I don’t want you to get hurt, so just submit to me, alright?”

Su Ning’s expression looked like she’d just swallowed a fly.

Youyou: Master, is this what you meant by ‘pervert’?

Seeing Su Ning ignore the henchmen, the three exchanged glances and their eyes turned cold. They drew their weapons from their belts, which gleamed with a chilling light, and charged straight at her.

But just as they took a few steps, Su Ning spoke calmly, “Don’t run so fast. There are lots of fallen branches and tree limbs here. What if you trip and fall — maybe poke your eyes out? That’d be unfortunate.”

Murata Iga nearly burst out laughing. In his mind, Su Ning’s attempt at psychological intimidation was ridiculous.

But before he could sneer—Several blood-curdling screams rang out.

He turned his head in shock — only to see his three henchmen inexplicably tripping at the same time, and falling face-first onto sharp branches, directly blinding themselves.

In mere moments, all three were writhing on the ground, screaming in pain with their eyes gouged out.

“What… the hell?!”

Murata Iga’s eyes bulged in disbelief.

He had assumed he could take down Su Ning easily without needing to act himself.

As someone who also fought using monsters, he knew Su Ning’s actual combat power was likely average. As long as he neutralized the tiger, Youyou, taking her down would be a breeze.

And once she was dead, the black-and-white tiger would naturally become his prize.

But to his shock, his men were this useless? And what’s more — they fell in such a bizarre way.

“How did she do that?” he muttered, his heart filled with unease.

All she had done was say one line — and the next moment, her enemies acted like they were under some curse, tripping and poking their own eyes out.

Murata Iga couldn’t help but wonder:

Does she have a “Word Spirit” ability — the power to make what she says come true?

Otherwise, why would her words so easily manifest?

Worried that the longer he waited, the worse it might get, Murata Iga stopped hesitating.

He quickly waved his arm and summoned five powerful monsters.

His Animal Affinity talent allowed him to bond with beasts easily. With that edge, he had tamed many powerful monsters in the dungeons.

Thanks to those beasts, he also obtained a valuable planting space and gained high status in Sakura Nation — where few dared to challenge him.

Su Ning calmly watched him summon the five beasts: A giant bird; A mantis; A brown bear; A minotaur; And a giant octopus.

Each one had a distinct form and radiated power — clearly well-trained and battle-hardened.

But Su Ning remained unfazed.

[Monster: Noisy Sparrow]
Talent: Clamor – Emits irritating, nerve-grating sounds
Skills: Wind Blade, Noise, Screech

[Monster: Scythe Mantis]
Talent: Tear – Wounds caused by it are hard to heal
Skill: Continuous Slash

[Monster: Earth-Digging Bear]
Talent: Burrow – Digs tunnels with ease
Skills: Earth Spikes, Bite

[Monster: Minotaur]
Talent: Monstrous Strength – Possesses incredible power
Skills: Berserk, Heavy Cleave

[Monster: Ink-Squirting Octopus]
Talent: Ink Jet – Sprays ink to block enemy vision
Skills: Constrict, Corrosive Fluid

The five monsters charged at Su Ning on command, without hesitation.

Murata Iga smirked.

“So what if you have Word Spirit? If you can’t speak, none of your power matters!”

“Noisy Sparrow! Screech at full volume!”

The Noisy Sparrow opened its massive beak and unleashed an unbearable shrill scream.

Su Ning’s brow furrowed. Though the sound wasn’t physically harmful, it was deeply irritating.

She narrowed her eyes at the bird. A gleam of eerie light flashed through her gaze.

In the very next second—

The Noisy Sparrow froze mid-air…

And turned to stone.

Then it plummeted to the ground and shattered into a pile of rubble.

Su Ning nodded in satisfaction, then turned to Murata Iga and said, “Since you’ve chosen to fight me with your pets, in our Daxia culture, there’s a saying — ‘Courtesy demands reciprocity.’ I’ll send out a few of mine too.”

Murata Iga was still stunned by the fact that his Noisy Sparrow had instantly turned into gravel.

By the time he looked back at Su Ning, several fearsome creatures had already appeared beside her.

Each one radiated an overwhelming, suffocating presence.

Some were enormous; others small but sinister. But all of them exuded a terrifying aura that made it hard to even look at them directly.
