Chapter 205: Tom: Should Have Gotten a Car
Hearing Capricorn say that, Taotie couldn’t help but smile inwardly.
He thought to himself, “Serves you right, crazy lady!”
“You finally have a taste of your own medicine!”
“Well deserved!”
Clearly, Taotie understood the underlying meaning in Capricorn’s words and knew that she was struggling to hold on.
But even though he knew, he had no intention of stepping in to help just yet.
It wasn’t the right time.
Capricorn’s strength wasn’t limited to just this.
It was best to squeeze out another ten minutes or so from her.
“Crazy lady, hurry up!”
“I’m gonna smoke a cigarette while I wait.”
Taotie pretended to be clueless and casually said this while pulling a cigarette from his pocket, lighting it up with ease.
As he stood there leisurely, puffing smoke, Capricorn ground her teeth in frustration. She wanted nothing more than to break away from Helan Xiaoyue and the others and slash Taotie a few times to let him bleed a little.
Seeing Taotie play dumb and openly set Capricorn up, Tom, who was hiding in the shadows, almost burst out laughing.
Taotie was truly something else!
But then again, he had always been an unruly troublemaker.
His shameless nature was well known to all.
Otherwise, with his current behavior, the Blacklist organization would have already sent someone to eliminate him for disobedience.
Blacklist allowed internal rivalries and even deadly infighting, but it had to be done in the shadows. Openly betraying a teammate was absolutely forbidden.
Moreover, when facing external enemies and carrying out missions, members had to stick together. They couldn’t abandon each other.
If not for Taotie’s overwhelming strength, his high ranking in Blacklist, and his past contributions, his actions today would have been considered betrayal—worthy of execution.
Time passed quickly, and soon, Taotie finished his cigarette.
Glancing over at Capricorn, he saw her drenched in sweat, as if she had just been fished out of water. Her clothes and hair were soaked.
Taotie spat on the ground, stomped out his cigarette butt, and pulled a massive machete from the car.
The moment he lifted the blade, his entire demeanor changed.
His eyes turned savage.
Locking onto his target, Taotie tensed his legs.
With a crack, the solid pavement beneath him shattered instantly.
Like a cannonball, Taotie shot forward.
“Die!”
With a roar, he swung his machete toward Yu Tianqi with immense force.
Feeling the brutal, beast-like killing intent from Taotie, Yu Tianqi’s spine went cold.
He immediately abandoned Capricorn and turned to block the attack.
Gripping his machete tightly with both hands, he raised it to defend against Taotie’s strike.
A loud clang rang out as the blades clashed.
Yu Tianqi’s burly body was sent flying, crashing into a streetlight and bending it before he finally stopped.
“Ugh—”
He spat out a mouthful of blood and fell to one knee, staring at Taotie in shock.
This monstrous man… was terrifying!
Just one move had injured him.
Even though it wasn’t a direct confrontation, and Taotie had caught him off guard while he was unprepared, it still proved Taotie’s terrifying strength.
After knocking Yu Tianqi back with a single attack, Taotie didn’t immediately pursue him.
Instead, he grinned wickedly at Yu Tianqi.
Then, he lunged forward, slamming into Wan Xiaozhou with brute force.
Wan Xiaozhou couldn’t dodge in time and was sent flying, crashing into a roadside trash bin.
Taotie took a quick step, grabbed Wan Xiaozhou by the throat, and lifted her off the ground.
“Where is it?”
“Tell me, and I’ll spare your life!”
His voice was dripping with killing intent.
The cold blade of his machete hovered just inches from Wan Xiaozhou’s eyes.
“Ugh… ugh…”
She struggled, her throat producing strangled sounds as she tried to speak but couldn’t.
“Oh, my bad.”
“Forgot about that~”
Seeing her agony, Taotie chuckled and loosened his grip slightly.
“I… I’ll take you there…”
Feeling the imminent threat of death, Wan Xiaozhou gave in.
No treasure was worth more than her life.
“Heh, smart girl!”
Taotie grinned and dragged her toward the car.
“You bastard, Taotie!”
Seeing this, Capricorn cursed angrily.
“Heh…”
“The treasure belongs to the strong!”
“You were useless, couldn’t even handle a three-on-one fight.”
“But the moment I stepped in, I took down two. What right do you have to curse me?”
Taotie sneered, completely unfazed by Capricorn’s glare.
With that, he shoved Wan Xiaozhou into the passenger seat. She gasped in pain as blood trickled from her lips.
Taotie pulled out a pair of handcuffs and locked her to the seat.
Then, he got into the driver’s seat.
“Bastard!”
Capricorn, enraged, ignored Helan Xiaoyue and sprinted toward Taotie’s car.
Seeing this, Helan Xiaoyue immediately followed.
They embodied the phrase: “The enemy of my enemy is my friend.”
For the sake of mutual benefit, past grudges could wait.
Yu Tianqi, however, remained level-headed.
Seeing that Taotie had already started the car, he knew chasing on foot was pointless.
Instead, he stumbled toward his own vehicle.
“Bye-bye!”
Taotie rolled down the window, waved at Capricorn and Helan Xiaoyue, and slammed the gas pedal.
The car shot forward like an arrow, leaving them both choking on exhaust fumes.
As they stared at the disappearing taillights in frustration, Yu Tianqi pulled up beside Helan Xiaoyue and opened the passenger door.
“Sis, get in!”
Seeing the car, Helan Xiaoyue’s eyes lit up.
She quickly climbed in.
Capricorn, seeing this, also tried to get in.
But just as she reached out her hand, Yu Tianqi floored the gas.
The sudden acceleration almost sent Capricorn under the car.
Watching from the rearview mirror as Capricorn stumbled back, Helan Xiaoyue laughed gleefully.
“Too bad! Should’ve run her over!”
“If I did that, Sis, I’d be saying goodbye to you forever.”
Yu Tianqi chuckled.
Hearing that, Helan Xiaoyue rolled her eyes.
“Please, does your Yu family even fear this kind of thing?”
“Besides, that woman’s record is already dirty. With a little manipulation, we could probably frame it as self-defense and even get you a medal for taking down a wanted criminal.”
Yu Tianqi: “…”
“Alright, I was too naive!”
Meanwhile, Capricorn pulled out her phone and coldly ordered,
“Come pick me up. Also, get the intel team to track Taotie’s location.”
Three minutes later.
A car stopped in front of her.
Capricorn got into the passenger seat.
The vehicle sped off in pursuit of Taotie.
“Wait… I should’ve just gotten myself a car…”
Tom emerged from the shadows, looking at his shared bicycle with a helpless sigh.
