Chapter 20: Damn Charming
“Pull over and stop that ambulance right now, or I’ll ram you from the side! If I rupture your fuel tank, your ride is finished. Be a good girl, and I might just spare your vehicle.”
Milk Tea Seven Parts Sugar glared at the man with pure hatred. She slammed her foot flat against the gas pedal, trying desperately to shake off the black SUV.
Yet the heavy vehicle clung to her side like a parasite, impossible to lose. The driver even seemed to be enjoying himself, toying with her like a cat playing with a mouse.
Pillar Holding Up the Sky wanted to drag her alive into his own car, so he was in no hurry to crush her vehicle completely, worried he might accidentally kill her in the crash.
Even so, the Teleportation Talisman lasted only ten minutes. Anxious about running out of time, he swerved violently several times, trying to force the ambulance off the road.
“Damn it! Don’t push your luck! If you don’t pull over right this second, I really will smash into you! If you end up dead, you can only blame your own bad luck!”
Gritting his teeth, he jerked the steering wheel, turning the SUV’s spiked nose directly toward the side of the ambulance and gunning the engine.
Terror gripped Milk Tea Seven Parts Sugar. She shut her eyes tight in fright.
Boom!
A deafening crash exploded beside her ear.
She opened her eyes slowly and tremblingly, wondering if she was already dead and this was the afterlife.
Instead, she saw a magnificent red hearse resting on the road. Its body shone like polished jewels under the sunlight, though no one could say exactly when it had arrived.
The two-lane road had expanded into three broad lanes.
Before the red hearse even pulled level with the ambulance, a massive green jade coffin dropped out of the sky, hurtling straight toward them!
Carved from pure green jade, the coffin was solid and impossibly heavy. The sheer force of the impact launched the black SUV airborne. The vehicle flipped three full times across the asphalt before crashing down.
Thud!
After knocking the SUV away like a toy, the heavy jade coffin slammed onto the pavement. The impact sent a violent tremor through the road, rattling the ambulance on its tires.
Milk Tea Seven Parts Sugar stared at the scene, completely dumbfounded. Who could be this formidable? A hearse carrying a flying jade coffin—it was unbelievable!
Right after the crash, the ruby-red hearse rolled smoothly up to the coffin and stopped. The door swung open, and a woman stepped out. She wore a sleek black combat suit and had her hair tied into a high ponytail, looking fierce and poised.
She tapped the side of the coffin with her fingers. As if following a silent command, the jade casket floated into the air and settled quietly above the roof of the hearse.
On top of the vehicle, a dark cannon barrel was aimed straight at the overturned SUV, radiating cold, deadly power. Around the body of the car, several machine-gun barrels poked out from hidden ports, covering every possible angle with a terrifying firing range.
Milk Tea Seven Parts Sugar’s eyes widened in awe. She was sure this could not be a simple level-three vehicle.
Looking at the menacing war machine before her, one name instantly flashed in her mind—Bone Ashes Mixed with Rice!
Had the legendary Big Boss actually come in person to save her?
Lin Huai closed the car door behind her and walked toward the wrecked SUV.
Pillar Holding Up the Sky was still breathing. Trapped in the wreckage, he was trying desperately to crawl out through the bent frame.
When he saw that the driver was a woman, his sneering arrogance flared up again. “You’re Bone Ashes Mixed with Rice? The great legend everyone talks about is just a woman? Hahaha! What a joke!”
Lin Huai sneered in disgust. She pulled a handgun from her coat and looked down at him coldly. “And now you’re about to die at the hands of the very woman you look down on. Any last words?”
The front end of the SUV was completely smashed, pinning the man tightly between the bent door pillars. He could not budge an inch. Staring down the black barrel of Lin Huai’s gun and seeing the icy intent in her eyes, sheer terror finally broke through his arrogance.
“Boss Bone Ash! Big Boss! I was wrong—I’ll never do it again! Please spare my life this once, I beg you!”
He pleaded frantically, tears and snot running down his face. “I swear I’ll work for you from now on! Just point me at whoever you want dead, and I’ll kill them for you! Please don’t kill me!”
Lin Huai said nothing. She simply raised her arm and pressed the cold muzzle against his temple.
Bang!
A sharp gunshot cracked through the air. Blood splattered across the smashed interior of the SUV. The man who had been so smug moments earlier slumped forward against the steering wheel, his lifeless eyes staring wide in shock.
Lin Huai used her light screen to record the entire scene—from his pathetic begging to the final shot—and uploaded the video straight into the zone’s public chat lobby.
[Bone Ashes Mixed with Rice]: @Don’t Run a Fever Everywhere, that’s number one!
She dragged the limp corpse out of the crushed vehicle. Though clearly disgusted by the mess around the head, she still tossed the body into the jade coffin to be cremated later.
Seeing that her Teleportation Talisman’s timer was ticking down, Lin Huai walked quickly over to the ambulance and offered a few reassuring words to the trembling girl inside.
Because time was so short, she only had a moment to warn Milk Tea Seven Parts Sugar not to share any details about her vehicle, before using another talisman to vanish toward her next target.
Not long after, a second video appeared in the public chat.
In this recording, a man knelt on the pavement, sobbing and pleading for his life. He was covered in his own blood, one arm bent unnaturally at a broken angle, while his vehicle sat behind him as a ruined pile of twisted metal.
The man begged the person holding the camera to show mercy. But the person opposite said not a single word. A handgun pressed against his forehead, the trigger was pulled, and another bullet ended his life instantly.
[Bone Ashes Mixed with Rice]: @Don’t Run a Fever Everywhere, that’s number two!
Seeing Lin Huai hunt down and execute two of his core members in such a short window, Don’t Run a Fever Everywhere felt a cold dread wash over him.
Pillar Holding Up the Sky and My Charm is Unrivaled had both driven solid level-two vehicles. How had they been turned into scrap metal so easily?
Just what kind of monster vehicle was Bone Ashes Mixed with Rice driving?
At that moment, everyone watching the chat lobby noticed that the profile pictures of Pillar Holding Up the Sky and My Charm is Unrivaled turned gray, one after the other.
A wave of cheering swept through the channel. The female players, who had spent the last few hours terrified of being hunted down by those criminals, were especially overjoyed.
[Little Grass Don’t Float]: Ahhh! Boss Bone Ash is so cool!
[Milk Tea Seven Parts Sugar]: That bastard Pillar really chased my ambulance, and he almost crashed into me! If Boss Bone Ash hadn’t shown up to save me, I would be dead right now. I swear, from this day on, my life belongs to Boss Bone Ash! I will never turn my back on her, even in death!
[Cute and Sparkling]: Boss Bone Ash is just so damn charming! Mister, you’ve completely stolen my heart. You’re playing with fire, and it’s burning hot!
[Little Mess]: I want to be Boss Bone Ash’s girl! I just want to cling to her leg forever!
[Flower Girl]: Move aside, sisters! I saw her first, I get to be her accessory!
Remembering the brave, cool older sister who had vanished into thin air, Milk Tea Seven Parts Sugar looked at the flood of messages from people offering to marry the boss. She hesitated, then typed quietly into the chat:
[Milk Tea Seven Parts Sugar]: Sorry, girls… Boss Bone Ash said she doesn’t want a girlfriend…
[Jiangzhehu Inheritor]: Looks like nobody came after me. Did I really miss my chance to meet Boss Bone Ash in person?
[Gold Medal Salesman]: @Bone Ashes Mixed with Rice, I’ll give all the supplies back right now! Please don’t kill me!
[Bone Ashes Mixed with Rice]: Too late. I’m already standing outside.
A few minutes later, a third video was uploaded.
It showed Gold Medal Salesman kneeling on the ground, frantically dumping every last item from his bag onto the road while begging for mercy. Yet just like the others, a single shot to the head ended him on the spot.
[Bone Ashes Mixed with Rice]: @Don’t Run a Fever Everywhere, you might have used an anti-tracking charm to block my teleportation for now, but that protection only lasts twenty-four hours. I have all the time in the world to wait. Let’s see if you have enough charms to stay hidden forever.
