Chapter 263: Dracula Factory 11
Inside the building, Chu Yian was running around like a headless chicken.
All the surveillance cameras were automatically tracking this employee who had escaped without permission. Chu Yian spotted the camera directly above her and raised her scepter, smashing it towards the lens.
“Reporting to superiors, this individual is carrying a harmful weapon and has extensively damaged the factory’s surveillance facilities.”
“Sixth floor, Sector 7, the target is moving towards Sector 9. One hundred Administrators have been dispatched to assist. Repeat, the target must be captured alive.”
The Administrators’ communications were constantly exchanging information, relaying Chu Yian’s every move to the capture team immediately.
Chu Yian was still unaware that she was already trapped, but seeing the countless cameras around her, she could estimate that those people would soon find her. No matter how many cameras she destroyed, she would still be monitored by them. She was now desperately looking for a way to completely avoid these surveillance cameras.
She looked at the camera she had smashed, and the ventilation opening on it instantly gave her an idea.
The factory’s internal design had no windows, so it had a very complete ventilation system. Ventilation ducts ran throughout the entire factory building, and the space inside was just enough for a person to pass through. Chu Yian removed the vent cover and climbed in.
By the time the Administrators rushed to the sixth floor, Sector 7, guided by the alerts, it was already empty.
They searched for a long time, only finding the smashed surveillance camera and the removed vent cover.
The leading Administrator reported to the command center: “Target lost, she is no longer in Sector 7.”
“Our surveillance has not captured her anywhere else; she might have returned the way she came.”
“No, she must have escaped through the ventilation opening.”
The leading Administrator stretched his head into the ventilation duct to check, “There are traces of someone crawling above; we have already sent people to climb up and pursue her.”
“Understood, we are dispatching people to send thermal imagers.”
The Administrator at the command center spoke, then immediately had the current news relayed to the Chairman, who was extremely concerned about the matter.
The factory’s ventilation ducts permeated the entire building, and even with Administrators searching with thermal imagers, it was extremely difficult. However, Chu Yian was also having a hard time inside the ventilation ducts; the complex layout and unfamiliar terrain made it so she couldn’t even tell where she was. She could only move aimlessly.
Occasionally passing a vent, she could only observe the environment below through the gaps.
Sometimes it was an empty corridor.
Besides vegetable greenhouses, the factory also had farms, clothing workshops, and production rooms for daily necessities like medicine. This allowed Chu Yian to experience firsthand that the factory was not just a factory; it was already a self-sufficient, independent small world.
If it weren’t for the vampires controlling it, it would be a haven like a utopia.
Unfortunately, there were no ‘ifs’.
Chu Yian pouted and continued to climb down randomly.
Her goal was the first floor, because the main gate was there.
When the factory was designed, the entrance and exit were designed as double doors. Opening one door connected to the road and allowed entry into the factory; opening both doors became a path to the next factory.
Chu Yian had only forced open one door just now; if she wanted to get out, she still had to go through the main gate.
So she began to climb down continuously.
However, all of a sudden, the surrounding air turned cold.
The cold air came from a ventilation opening ahead. Chu Yian followed this cold air to the spot. She thought it was a cold storage room, but when she looked inside through the gap in the vent, she saw clearly that it was a slaughterhouse.
A human slaughterhouse.
Humans were hanging on the cold machines like plucked ducks.
They had no room to struggle, being moved forward by a conveyor belt. Limited by the narrow view, Chu Yian opened the vent and poked her head out to look further. These people were transported to the end, then enclosed in a capsule-like box.
Two large needles pierced their main arteries, and all their blood was rapidly drawn out.
The blood of the people inside was quickly drained, and then they were transported to the incinerator behind.
An efficient, automated, and inhumane processing method.
Chu Yian watched this scene dumbfounded. Even though she was used to seeing people die, she couldn’t describe the fear and shock of witnessing this. She felt a chill in her hands and feet, whether from the cold air below or some other reason.
Chu Yian poked her head out and surveyed the area below, discovering that this place was unguarded, run by automated facilities.
She hesitated for a moment, then jumped down from the ceiling.
It was truly too inhumane. Chu Yian ran wildly to the power source and pulled down all the circuit breakers. Half the lights in the production workshop went out, and the assembly line stopped operating.
Chu Yian walked towards the nearest person and vigorously slapped his face.
These people seemed to be anesthetized; they couldn’t be woken up at all.
Just as Chu Yian was about to try a more forceful method, she suddenly saw a familiar person — Bai Sinian.
It was no wonder Chu Yian could spot him among so many people; their uniforms were somewhat different. Everyone else was wearing something like a hospital gown, but he was wearing a work uniform. It was also heavily soaked with fresh blood, strikingly red.
Bai Sinian was actually still alive.
Chu Yian had originally intended to hit the unlucky fellow with the number KL38394, but now she changed her target.
Slap, slap, two big blows.
Chu Yian’s palms stung, and Bai Sinian slowly regained consciousness.
“Hiss.”
Bai Sinian gasped, feeling a burning pain in his cheek. He clearly saw the person standing in front of him, “Little Chu Chu? You hit really hard.”
“It’s not that I’m weak; I couldn’t wake you up otherwise.”
Chu Yian had no time to waste chatting with him, “Why are you here?”
“I was caught and brought in while escaping. Why is Little Chu Chu here too?”
“I escaped to here.”
She looked at the iron hook holding Bai Sinian, “Do you know the route to escape the factory? Tell me and I’ll let you down.”
Who knew Bai Sinian didn’t trust her, “Little Chu Chu, let me down first, then I’ll tell you how to escape the factory.”
“Brother, you’re the one hanging on the wall right now, not me. Do you have the capital to negotiate with me?”
Did he not understand the current situation?
Before Chu Yian could finish speaking, she suddenly heard footsteps from outside.
These Administrators were fast; they had already found their way here.
She lifted her leg and turned to run, then suddenly remembered something and stopped, pushing a cabinet to let Bai Sinian down.
Bai Sinian’s eyes lit up when he saw this, “Little Chu Chu, I knew you couldn’t bear to leave Brother Bai…”
Bai Sinian hadn’t finished his sentence when Chu Yian suddenly slammed something hard into his waist, the sharp pain making him fall to the ground unprepared.
