Chapter 291: Interests
In the end, Yin Xisheng broke down completely, weeping a river of tears.
Although she was unable to make a sound, the raw, gasping pants mixed with her torrential tears made her appear infinitely more aggrieved and pitiful.
Xu Xinghe couldn’t bear to watch. He frantically handed her tissues while racking his brain to think of anything that might cheer her up.
Unable to watch his futile panic any longer, Yu Xin patted his shoulder. “Stop letting your anxiety cloud your judgment. Sometimes, emotions just have to be fully unleashed before a person can feel better.”
By the time Yin Xisheng finished crying, her face was an absolute mess. It was only then that everyone realized she had been wearing a no-makeup style look—her foundation had completely peeled away.
Yu Xin escorted Yin Xisheng to the restroom to wash her face, while Gu Qinghuan handed over a compressed face towel.
Zhan Chuchen was thoroughly shocked. “Why on earth do you carry a compressed face towel with you, Class Monitor? Did you come here specifically planning to make her cry?”
Gu Qinghuan’s eyes widened. “How could I possibly do that! It’s just that the bag I’m using today happens to be the exact same one I carried on my last trip. These were tucked away in the inner pocket, and I forgot to take them out.”
Zhan Chuchen peered into Gu Qinghuan’s bag. Aside from the compressed face towel, there were cleansing wipes, band-aids, and a sanitary pad.
Well, talk about a blind cat running into a dead rat.
By the time Yin Xisheng returned after cleaning herself up, the makeup on her face was entirely gone, instantly making her appear significantly more gaunt.
“You look like someone who doesn’t eat well or rest properly on a normal basis,” Gu Qinghuan stated very bluntly.
Yin Xisheng lowered her head. She knew perfectly well that she looked like a skeleton, which was why she had used makeup to mask it in the first place.
“Xu Xinghe!” Gu Qinghuan barked with ringing authority.
Xu Xinghe barked back out of pure reflex: “Present!”
“From now on, you are responsible for monitoring her meals every single day. She needs to send you photos of all three meals—and mhm, you send photos of your three meals to her too, for mutual supervision.” Gu Qinghuan began assigning tasks.
Xu Xinghe froze for a fraction of a second before breaking into a manic internal victory dance. Although the main objective is to help Yin Xisheng condition her body, the Class Monitor just handed him a flawless reason to talk to her every single day!
Yin Xisheng hurriedly typed on her phone to play the audio: [There’s no need to go to such trouble. I will eat properly.]
“It’s no trouble at all! I don’t think it’s troublesome in the slightest!” Xu Xinghe cut in ahead of her.
Yu Xin then asked, “What’s your height and weight? Do you have any allergies or dietary restrictions?” She added, “My sister’s mom is a registered dietitian. I can ask her to help draw up a conditioning recipe for you.”
“There’s no need for that,” Zhan Chuchen waved her hand. “I have the ultimate, simplest method: meat, eggs, and milk!”
As everyone launched into a heated discussion about how to rapidly bulk Yin Xisheng up into a healthier state, Yin Xisheng felt a sudden urge to smile.
She reflexively wanted to pinch her cheek again, but her fingers paused the moment they brushed against her cool, freshly washed skin.
Gu Qinghuan had told her not to link happiness with pain. She wanted to try doing exactly what Gu Qinghuan said. As long as she stopped doubting, and as long as she believed she was worthy, there was absolutely no need to constantly verify whether reality was real or fake.
The conclusion of their discussion was that Xu Xinghe would act as the supervisor; the immediate priority was simply to get Yin Xisheng onto a structured diet with normal caloric intake.
Xu Xinghe was elated, but matching Yin Xisheng’s gaze, he felt a sudden twinge of uncertainty. “Um, is it really alright for us to just make this executive decision for you?”
Yin Xisheng nodded vigorously, then typed into her phone: [Thank you for caring about me. I will put every effort into eating properly!]
“Just eat normally,” Zhan Chuchen chimed in. “Right now, you probably don’t derive any pleasure from eating. In the beginning, just managing to eat three meals a day will be a great achievement.”
“You don’t need to treat it with such heavy solemnity either,” Gu Qinghuan said. “Eating is supposed to be a highly blissful experience.”
Seeing Gu Qinghuan launch into a passionate description of all the delicious foods she had consumed recently, Yu Xin quickly covered her mouth. “The food we ate at noon hasn’t even digested yet. Stop talking.”
Getting struck by intense food cravings while your stomach was completely full was a torturous experience.
Once the group collected their thoughts, Xu Xinghe took charge of tossing the trash into the bin, and they proceeded to tour the remaining exhibition halls.
Likely because it was lunchtime, the crowds inside the halls had thinned out significantly, allowing them to stroll through at a leisurely pace.
Xu Xinghe seized a brief window of time to report this development to both the Team One and Team Two group chats. The reactions from both sides were cut from the exact same cloth.
Team One felt the exact same way as before—predominantly sympathizing with Yin Xisheng. The fact that she could be so profoundly moved by Gu Qinghuan’s words proved she could still be saved. Since that was the case, everyone was more than happy to grasp the hand she had extended from the quagmire and yank her completely out.
[Trouble-Making Squad Subdivision Two]
Ai Ning: [Do you guys understand the absolute gold standard of our Class Monitor now!]
Xie Xiangxue: [Hearing this, Yin Xisheng really does sound incredibly pitiful.]
Yao Shali: [The fact that she can take the Class Monitor’s words to heart is naturally a good thing. However, I’m still staying firmly in Team Two.]
Jiang Chuchu: [Exactly. After all, who knows if she’ll plummet straight back into the abyss the moment she faces Ruan Tanyu again.]
Tao Shenxing: [Love-brains are a massive headache. Dealing with a single Xu Xinghe is already testing our limits.]
Yuan Wuwei: [Old Xu, you’d better step up. The Class Monitor has engineered such flawless conditions for you; if you still can’t outperform that abusive scumbag, it’ll be completely inexcusable.]
Xu Xinghe: [Where am I a love-brain! I am perfectly normal! @Tao Shenxing]
Xu Xinghe: [Ruan Tanyu treated her horribly! I will never let Yin Xisheng make contact with Ruan Tanyu ever again! @Yuan Wuwei]
The members of Team Two unanimously expressed that while the destructive capacity of a love-brain was immense, merely looking at Xu Xinghe left them feeling thoroughly anxious. When the time came for Xu Xinghe and Yin Xisheng to swap daily photos of their meals, Team Two would definitely need to keep a close watch and act as his brain trust.
In the afternoon, Yin Xisheng, Xu Xinghe, and the others continued hanging out until well past three o’clock before finally walking out of the zoo gates with lingering reluctance.
Gu Qinghuan stretched lazily. “After looking at so many animals, I wonder if Xiao Si will still recognize me when I get home.”
“Zhima will definitely recognize me!” Yu Xin stated with immense confidence.
Yin Xisheng looked curious, so Xu Xinghe explained, “Both of them keep cats at home. Xiao Si and Zhima are the cats’ names.”
Yin Xisheng nodded to show her understanding. She had never raised a pet, because she was acutely aware that her own life was an absolute mess; she didn’t want a small animal to suffer alongside her.
However, watching Gu Qinghuan and Yu Xin chat so animatedly, a twinge of envy flared in her heart. Should I find something to occupy myself with as well? At the very least, it would give her a common topic of conversation with others.
She tugged gently at Xu Xinghe’s sleeve. Instead of playing it aloud, she showed him the text on her phone screen.
Yin Xisheng: [Do you have any hobbies or interests?]
Xu Xinghe replied, “I like reading, and I also like attending specialized lectures on literature and history.”
That sounds incredibly solemn. A sudden impulse to back down surged within Yin Xisheng; she felt she could absolutely never manage that.
Yin Xisheng: [Is there anything else? Something that’s simpler to pick up.]
Xu Xinghe thought it over again. “Calligraphy? Whenever I’m in a foul mood, I practice tracing copybooks. It’s great for regulating your emotions.”
This is perfect! Yin Xisheng’s spirits instantly lifted. If it was just sitting at a desk and practicing writing, she should be fully capable of doing it!
Since she was radiating such eagerness, Xu Xinghe naturally picked up on it immediately.
He blurted out right away, “Then let me take you to buy some calligraphy copybooks.”
Yin Xisheng nodded frantically. If she bought them now, she could start this very evening.
Xu Xinghe snapped his head around. “Class Monitor—”
“Got it, got it. Next stop is heading to the bookstore to buy copybooks, right?” Gu Qinghuan waved her hand dismissively. “I’ll go browse if there are any new releases I like too. Once we’re done shopping, it’ll be just the right time to head home for dinner.”
Xu Xinghe rejoiced covertly. Aw yeah! I’m going to seize this absolute window of opportunity to put on a stellar performance right in front of Yin Xisheng!
Chapter 292: Not Minded At All
Xu Xinghe’s desire to show off his best self—or rather, to strut around like a peacock showing off its feathers—was ruthlessly crushed.
The reason was simple. The moment the group stepped through the entrance of the bookstore, a voice filled with utter surprise rang out: “Xiao Xi?”
Following that, a boy sprinted directly toward Yin Xisheng.
If Zhan Chuchen hadn’t reacted with lighting speed to block the path in front of Yin Xisheng, the boy probably would have caught her in a full embrace.
Gu Qinghuan and Yu Xin exchanged a look, both having correctly guessed who it was. Gu Qinghuan took a few steps forward to face the boy directly.
“Are you Ruan Tanyu?” Gu Qinghuan fixed a scrutinizing gaze on him.
Just as the intelligence they gathered described, Ruan Tanyu did indeed look quite exceptional. He had fair skin, handsome features, cleanly styled hair that laid perfectly flat, and neat, well-put-together clothes.
However, the moment she remembered this guy had previously laid a hand on Yin Xisheng, Gu Qinghuan couldn’t summon a single ounce of goodwill.
Her gaze clearly agitated Ruan Tanyu, and he grew defensive. “I am. Who are you guys? Xiao Xi’s friends?”
Standing behind Zhan Chuchen, Yin Xisheng couldn’t see Ruan Tanyu’s face through the barrier, yet she involuntarily began to tremble simply from hearing his voice.
Seeing her complexion turn ghostly pale in an instant, Xu Xinghe felt both a pang of heartache and a surge of fury. This guy caused Yin Xisheng to suffer so terribly, yet he still dares to appear right in front of her! Is he even worthy of calling her ‘Xiao Xi’!
He also stepped to the front, stating with a stern face, “We are Yin Xisheng’s friends.”
Only then did Ruan Tanyu notice there was another boy in the group. He knit his brows, sizing Xu Xinghe up from head to toe. “What’s this? Don’t tell me you are Xiao Xi’s new boyfriend?”
Xu Xinghe’s face instantly turned even uglier.
If it were one of Yin Xisheng’s actual friends—like Ning Fu—misunderstanding his relationship with her like that, he might have denied it on the surface while gloating covertly in his heart. But with Ruan Tanyu saying it, he couldn’t feel happy in the slightest.
That tone and his overall demeanor made it seem as though Yin Xisheng absolutely required a “boyfriend” to be able to walk around outside like a normal person. He didn’t believe Yin Xisheng could ever get better on her own.
“I am…” Xu Xinghe was just about to speak when Gu Qinghuan proactively cut him off.
She stated very casually, “Excuse us, please move aside. We’re going to buy books right now.”
With that, she lifted her foot and walked directly into the bookstore, raising her arm to separate Ruan Tanyu from the rest of the group.
Caught completely off guard, Ruan Tanyu was brushed to one side of the path. Zhan Chuchen immediately stepped up on the same side, keeping close to Yin Xisheng to shield her as they walked inward.
By the time Ruan Tanyu reacted, he could only see the back of Yin Xisheng’s head. He initially wanted to give chase, but the curious looks thrown by the surrounding crowd glued his feet to the floor. Ultimately, he could only stand there rigidly for a moment before turning on his heel and leaving in a huff.
Passing a corner and confirming that Ruan Tanyu hadn’t followed them, Yin Xisheng suddenly felt as though all the strength had been violent drained from her body, her entire frame sliding downward.
Fortunately, Zhan Chuchen was prepared for this, catching her firmly by the arms and dragging her over to a chair in the reading area to sit down.
Yin Xisheng’s hands were shaking violently. Yu Xin clasped them, finding them frighteningly cold. She initially wanted to go buy a hot drink, but Yin Xisheng gripped her hand with a death-grip, leaving her with no choice but to stay firmly by her side.
“Do you want to drink something hot?” Gu Qinghuan asked.
Yin Xisheng didn’t hear her the first time. Gu Qinghuan asked a second time with immense patience.
This time, Yin Xisheng reacted, shaking her head rigidly. She instinctively wanted to say “no need,” but opening her mouth only reminded her that she couldn’t make a sound.
Gu Qinghuan didn’t force her either, simply stating, “Then we won’t drink anything. Once you’ve rested well, let’s go look at the copybooks!”
Yin Xisheng fell into a brief daze. Why can she say it so easily? She had just run into Ruan Tanyu, after all. She had already stopped replying to Ruan Tanyu’s messages; why would they still run into each other so coincidentally? It felt as though fate was determined to keep the two of them entangled.
She clearly didn’t want to… Yin Xisheng’s train of thought paused.
Wait a minute. Right now… Ruan Tanyu isn’t even here, is he?
She hadn’t done anything. Gu Qinghuan had merely verified Ruan Tanyu’s identity, told him to move aside, and then… and then… it was over?
Was avoiding Ruan Tanyu actually supposed to be this simple?
Yin Xisheng lifted her head blankly, feeling a strange illusion that she had stepped into an entirely different world. She let go of Yu Xin’s hand, fished out her phone, and slowly typed: [Facing Tanyu…]
Her fingers paused, deleting the first two characters before retyping.
[When facing Ruan Tanyu, how can I be like you and not mind him at all?]
“Because I truly don’t mind him at all.” Gu Qinghuan smiled. “You can do it too; it’s very simple.”
Is it very simple? Yin Xisheng grew even more bewildered.
“For instance, what are we doing right now? Going to buy calligraphy copybooks, right?” Gu Qinghuan asked.
Yin Xisheng nodded.
“Running into him was merely an accident. So, do you want to run into him?” Gu Qinghuan asked again.
Yin Xisheng hesitated for a brief moment before slowly shaking her head.
Gu Qinghuan clapped her hands. “Then that’s the end of it. Since you don’t want to run into him, and we have our own tasks to complete, then we just need to act to achieve our own goals. There’s no need to be unswerved because of him.”
Is that how it works? Is it really that simple? Yin Xisheng felt somewhat uncertain, but tracing through Gu Qinghuan’s logic, it didn’t seem incorrect either. Running into Ruan Tanyu was an unplanned event, and she didn’t want her itinerary to include this specific item, so she could just filter it out.
Yin Xisheng gripped her phone tightly, wanting to type something else, but Gu Qinghuan beat her to the punch: “Are you wondering what to do if he continues to pester you?”
Yin Xisheng nodded again, her expression displaying a hint of urgency this time.
This time, Gu Qinghuan didn’t give her a direct answer, but instead pulled her up by the hand. Only then did Yin Xisheng realize that, without her noticing, she had completely stopped trembling.
“Instead of answering that question, let’s go select your copybooks first. After all, we still need to get home on time for dinner,” Gu Qinghuan said with a beaming smile. “Don’t forget to take a photo of your dinner for Xu Xinghe tonight; we’ll be supervising you.”
The process of choosing copybooks wasn’t easy, primarily because Yin Xisheng found every single one beautiful, leaving her frozen in hesitation.
Yu Xin understood her indecisiveness perfectly. Back when she first practiced calligraphy, she had also thought this one looked great and that one looked amazing, wanting to try them all.
In the end, they settled on buying a copy of Lu Zhongnan’s small regular script first. Yin Xisheng felt its balanced, upright form was very comforting to look at.
Clutching the bag containing the beginner’s tutorials and character cards, she happily prepared to go home. It was only after she boarded the private car driven by her family’s bodyguard that she remembered her previous question. She grew anxious all over again, waving at Gu Qinghuan through the car window.
Gu Qinghuan grasped her hand. Though she knew exactly what Yin Xisheng wanted to ask, she merely smiled and asked, “Did you have fun today?”
Yin Xisheng paused, choosing to answer Gu Qinghuan’s question first.
Seeing Yin Xisheng nod, Gu Qinghuan asked further, “Is there anything you want to do after you get home?”
Yes. She had to eat dinner, take a photo for Xu Xinghe, and once dinner was finished, she wanted to practice with the copybook she just bought. Right, practicing calligraphy required using her desk. She hadn’t cleared her desk in ages and it was piled high with clutter; she needed to organize it.
Just from watching her expression shift into deep thought, Gu Qinghuan knew Yin Xisheng had plenty of things she wanted to do. She patted Yin Xisheng’s hand, her smile remaining unchanged: “Just keep doing exactly what you’re doing right now.”
“Him pestering you is his choice, and it has nothing to do with you. You have your own choices to make.”
“Compared to being dragged around by his emotions, isn’t it far happier and more meaningful to complete your own goals and plans?”
“Trust in yourself. You can absolutely do it.”
Chapter 293: Two Negatives Make a Positive
[Trouble-Making Squad Subdivision One]
Ming Xiaolan: [The day has come to an end. What’s the verdict?]
Xu Xinghe: [Image]
Xu Xinghe: [Yin Xisheng ate a black pepper cheese chicken cutlet croissant tonight!]
Lin Zhulu: [We’re doomed. He’s a total love-brain.]
Fan Ziran: [Just ignore him. Where are the Class Monitor and the Academics Monitor?]
Gu Qinghuan: [This looks incredibly delicious. I’m going to make one next time.]
Qin Yue: [It’s over. Don’t count on this one either.]
Yu Xin: [What do you mean ‘it’s over’? Today relied entirely on Qinghuan. She’s the MVP!]
Zhan Chuchen: [True. The gold standard of our Class Monitor is still rising.]
Yu Xin and Zhan Chuchen gave a rough recap of the day’s events, drawing a chorus of emotional sighs from the members of Team One.
Shi Guanghui: [The fact that she can take the Class Monitor’s words to heart is a great sign!]
Lin Zhulu: [That Ruan Tanyu guy—I can’t even be bothered to roast him. Absolutely vile.]
Yu Xin: [Judging from Yin Xisheng’s reaction when she ran into him, I feel like she’s actually pretty terrified of him.]
Fan Ziran: [He is the guy who physically laid a hand on her, after all…]
Yu Xin: [Under these circumstances, would Yin Xisheng really still accept him?]
Qin Yue: [Didn’t Xu Xinghe say it before? The guy keeps spamming her with messages. Since she can’t see his face through a phone screen, text alone can be like dripping water wearing down a stone. If he acts sincere enough, it really can buy a path to forgiveness, right?]
Shi Guanghui: [But running into the guy in person out of the blue without any psychological preparation—the impact is way too massive!]
Lin Zhulu: [Exactly. Simply put, the scab hadn’t fully formed yet, and the wound got ripped wide open again.]
Xu Xinghe: [Looking at it this way, it really is a race against time…]
Yu Xin: [I think if we hadn’t invited Yin Xisheng out to play on Saturday—keeping her mind completely off Ruan Tanyu all week—she really might have been swayed by his smooth-talking and gotten back together with him?]
Zhan Chuchen: [That genuinely sounds like a horror story.]
Watching the discussion unfold in the group chat, Gu Qinghuan raised her eyebrows: [System, you there?]
The system knew exactly what she wanted to ask the moment she spoke, answering dutifully: [Originally, Yin Xisheng was indeed supposed to go to the bookstore with Ruan Tanyu today.]
It almost really did become a horror story, Gu Qinghuan thought, involuntarily rubbing her arms.
Pity that she was the only human being alive who knew about this averted horror story.
The system flipped through its database. Although Xu Xinghe’s initial mission progress sat at less than 25%, over the span of just one week, it had already surged to around 40%.
The students of Class Three were all mission targets without exception. This extremely rare phenomenon owed itself to a vital catalyst: they actively influenced one another.
Take Xie Xiangxue for example. In her most desperate fate, if Yu Xin had recognized Lin Xiaoxue from the start and told Xie Xiangxue, then at the very least, when Yan Zhengqing first came knocking on her door, Xie Xiangxue could have clarified things in a timely manner and secured far more support.
It was the exact same case for Xu Xinghe’s mission now.
The long-cultivated collective cohesion of the class ensured that when they caught Xu Xinghe slacking off during a lecture, they didn’t just turn a blind eye; instead, they proactively sought to understand his situation. Xu Xinghe, too, recognized his own mistake, apologized to Teacher Lu, and requested help from his peers.
Without this deep collective friendship, Xu Xinghe would have only shut his heart off out of pure shame after being caught slacking off, let alone reaching out to anyone for help. If that had happened, things would have only spiraled into something far worse—ultimately cascading toward his most desperate fate.
The system pondered. Although this current method of resolution looked rather low-key and devoid of dramatic waves, it was perfectly beautiful just like this. It wasn’t that they lacked an understanding of suffering, but rather that the students had become far more exceptional and knew exactly how to face adversity.
As expected, my host is the absolute best! Brimming with renewed vitality, the system continued to diligently monitor the data.
Seeing Team One’s chat buzzing with activity, Gu Qinghuan switched her interface over to Team Two. Unlike Team One, Team Two’s primary objective was to support Xu Xinghe, so their overall vibe was fundamentally different.
To save himself some trouble, Xu Xinghe had directly forwarded the chat logs concerning today’s events over to them. Naturally, he hadn’t forgotten to include that picture of Yin Xisheng’s dinner.
[Trouble-Making Squad Subdivision Two]
Yao Shali: [I feel like Xu Xinghe is beyond saving.]
Ai Ning: [Agreed.]
Yuan Wuwei: [I’m completely floored. I want to surgically excise his love-brain!]
Tao Shenxing: [Don’t do that. Wait until his heart breaks first.]
Lian Fenghe: [?]
Shen Jianwei: [You aren’t sparing him either.]
Jiang Chuchu: [To be mathematically precise, he’s currently just experiencing unrequited love plus a secret crush. Yin Xisheng strictly views him as a friend.]
Xie Xiangxue: [The Discipline Committee Member’s reality checks are always heavyweight class.]
Xu Xinghe: [What are you guys doing! What are you all doing!]
Yao Shali: [Nothing. We just feel you’re a bit too intensely hyper-fixated.]
Xu Xinghe: [It’s not like I intend to bother her! She hasn’t even walked out of her psychological trauma yet, how could I possibly confess to her right now!]
It was obvious that Xu Xinghe had completely stopped trying to hide his romantic feelings.
Xie Xiangxue: [So once she completely rids herself of Ruan Tanyu and walks out of her trauma, will you confess?]
Xu Xinghe went dead silent. Everyone had no idea if he was blushing from embarrassment or frozen in hesitation, so they simply left him be for a moment.
Yao Shali: [To be completely fair, Xu Xinghe is indeed being highly restrained. He prioritizes Yin Xisheng’s state of mind far above his own romantic interest.]
Jiang Chuchu: [This trait is quite good. At least he isn’t getting completely blinded by infatuation.]
Ai Ning: [But how long can he sustain this state?]
Yuan Wuwei: [Old Xu, when exactly do you plan to confess? @Xu Xinghe]
Xu Xinghe: [Confessing or whatever—at the very least, it has to wait until she can accept a new romantic relationship, right?]
Xu Xinghe: [Plus, um, my future plans aren’t fully concrete yet. I’m still hesitating on what specific career to pursue later, and I can’t guarantee my personal economic standing yet…]
Shen Jianwei: [Flabbergasted.JPG]
Tao Shenxing: [Can we kick him out of the group?]
Yao Shali: [Class Monitor! Kick him out! @Gu Qinghuan]
Gu Qinghuan: [Hahahahahahaha!]
Gu Qinghuan: [I have to point out, Xu Xinghe, you thinking like this puts way too much psychological pressure on a girl.]
Xu Xinghe: [Is that so?!]
Jiang Chuchu: [Yes.]
Yao Shali: [Yes!]
Xie Xiangxue: [Actually, it shows a fair amount of accountability, doesn’t it? It’s just… he’s thinking about it far too early.]
Shen Jianwei: [If it were me, I’d stay miles away.]
Xu Xinghe: [I’ll go delete my future blueprints…]
Gu Qinghuan: [It’s fine to keep them. When you like someone, it’s natural to fantasize about a future with them.]
Gu Qinghuan: [However, even if she truly returns your feelings, it doesn’t mean she wants to take on the burden of your life script alongside you.]
Gu Qinghuan: [If you were arbitrarily written into someone else’s life plan without your consent, would you be happy?]
Xu Xinghe: […No.]
Xu Xinghe: [I see where I messed up. Thanks for the wake-up call, Class Monitor. I’ll keep my emotions under wraps.]
Gu Qinghuan: [How could that kind of emotion possibly be wrapped up tightly anyway? Just focus entirely on the present.]
Jiang Chuchu: [Exactly. Forget about the long-term future for now; handle the present properly first.]
Yao Shali: [Yes, don’t just focus on your secret crush. Keep your eyes on your daily studies too.]
Ai Ning: [If you want to be liked by someone, you have to polish yourself! Otherwise, why on earth would they like you!]
Seeing everyone eagerly chiming in to map out a “remodel plan” for Xu Xinghe, Gu Qinghuan refrained from saying anything more. The members of Team Two were all highly level-headed; they would undoubtedly help Xu Xinghe’s love-brain mature so he wouldn’t act so foolishly anymore.
The system noted Gu Qinghuan stroking her chin: [What are you thinking about, Host?]
Gu Qinghuan withdrew her hand: [I was just thinking, if two love-brains run toward each other in a mutual pursuit, it might actually turn out to be pretty blissful?]
System: Does that count as a case of two negatives making a positive?
