Doomsday: Scavenging in a Survival Game – CH175

Information from the Future, the Calamity Witch?

Chapter 175: Information from the Future, the Calamity Witch?

Upon seeing Zheng Yaxian’s information, Su Ning’s expression changed drastically. Her pupils contracted slightly, lips pressed together, her face turning solemn and cold.

Her expression was serious and heavy, as though she were contemplating something of great importance.

“Reincarnator talent, and it’s already been used… That means… the Zheng Yaxian before me has returned from the future?”
Su Ning muttered to herself in a low voice, unable to hide the shock in her tone.

The revelation that Zheng Yaxian was a Reincarnator instantly resolved a lingering confusion that had always bothered Su Ning.

She recalled that Zhang Li once said her decision to evacuate Shelter No. 6 was influenced by Zheng Yaxian’s advice.

At the time, Su Ning thought Zheng Yaxian had a precognition-type ability like Pei Xuan’an, but now she realized the truth:
Zheng Yaxian’s foresight didn’t come from a talent, but from having lived through the future herself.

Her knowledge of what was to come was based on direct, lived experience.

Zhang Li had also mentioned how Zheng Yaxian had changed—she had become unusually calm and composed, having lost the liveliness expected of someone her age.

“To think such an incredible talent exists… Reincarnator… It’s hard to believe,”
Su Ning murmured, a complex emotion rising in her heart.

She now understood the world was far more mysterious and complex than she had imagined. The appearance of a reincarnator only deepened the mystery.

Suddenly, Su Ning’s gaze sharpened.
If Zheng Yaxian truly came from the future, then everything Zhang Li had told her before… must be true.

She also noticed something else astonishing—Zheng Yaxian had three talents, just like herself.

For a moment, seeing Zheng Yaxian, Su Ning felt like she was witnessing a main character from a novel.
She had read many stories where the heroine is reincarnated and uses her knowledge of the future to rise.

Wasn’t Zheng Yaxian a perfect example of that?

But Su Ning had no desire to get involved. She knew better than to stir up unnecessary trouble—better to keep her distance.

As Su Ning observed Zheng Yaxian and her group, Zheng Yaxian also noticed Su Ning and her party.

Their teams slowly approached one another.

When Zhang Li saw Zheng Yaxian surrounded by a group of men like a queen with her court, she stepped forward and greeted her.

“Zheng Yaxian? Are you evacuating too?”

But Zhang Li’s gaze quickly shifted to the unassuming, middle-aged man standing beside Zheng Yaxian.
He looked ordinary, but his presence was immense, like a mountain.

This was the same man Zheng Yaxian had first followed after her rebirth.

However, after she awakened her Peerless Beauty talent, this once-dominant man now followed her every command. If she said east, he wouldn’t dare go west.

Hearing the familiar voice, Zheng Yaxian turned and saw Zhang Li—and then her gaze landed on Su Ning and the creature beside her: Youyou.

In that moment, Zheng Yaxian’s eyes flashed with shock, confusion, and disbelief.

“Why would one of the Calamity Witch’s followers be here?”

If she wasn’t mistaken, the girl beside Youyou was none other than her former classmate—Su Ning.

In her past life, Zheng Yaxian had survived by clinging to the man beside her, and although she was able to enter dungeon worlds, she had no choice but to follow his every order.
Over five long, bitter years, she had lost touch with almost all of her old friends and classmates.

But she could recognize Youyou—the terrifying creature would later become famous in the world to come.

Which meant… the girl beside it must be Su Ning.

Zheng Yaxian’s mind was a storm of emotions.

“Never in a million years did I think the future Calamity Witch would be my classmate…”

She thought of Su Ning’s future glory and considered whether she should try to make contact with her now.

But then she shook her head.

“No. I must prepare for the next dungeon. The [Endless Sea] instance has already collapsed. The Rulebreaker Dragon has stirred chaos in the higher-dimensional worlds. The next dungeon will open soon—and with it, the path to advanced survival dungeons begins. This is the start of my grand plan. I can’t afford any distractions.”

After careful thought, Zheng Yaxian decided to back off.
With the advantage of reincarnation, she was confident she would achieve greatness—equal to or even beyond Su Ning.

Why should she humble herself and curry favor?

Even if Su Ning would one day be synonymous with disaster, right now she was still just a girl.

Su Ning, meanwhile, sensed someone’s gaze. She turned and locked eyes with Zheng Yaxian.

For a brief moment, their eyes met.

They both froze—but just seconds later, they looked away, pretending not to notice.

Zheng Yaxian replied to Zhang Li, “Yes. We’re evacuating too.”

Zhang Li asked, “Want to travel together?”

She had assumed Zheng Yaxian was heading toward Shelter No. 5, just like them. But Zheng Yaxian shook her head.

“No. We’re not heading the same way.”

“Huh? That’s a shame. Are you going to Shelter No. 7?”

Zheng Yaxian simply smiled faintly and said no more.

Zhang Li could tell she was hiding something, so she didn’t push further.

Soon after, Zheng Yaxian’s team departed swiftly.

Kou Dingshan and Wang Chang were visibly tense.

After all, Zheng Yaxian’s entire party consisted of men, each one armed to the teeth.
If they had attacked, Su Ning’s small group would have been completely overpowered.

“That girl doesn’t look like a good person. A team full of men, and she’s the only woman…”
Kou’s mother muttered darkly, though she didn’t say the rest aloud.

“Enough, Mom. Don’t say that kind of stuff so loudly. What if they hear you? Those people aren’t to be messed with,”
Jiang Nana quickly stepped in to stop her mother’s careless remarks.

Her mother had no filter and would say anything.

Su Ning, for her part, only shook her head at Kou’s mother’s comment.
She didn’t take it seriously.

After all, the men around Zheng Yaxian weren’t just companions—they were her tools, her weapons in battle.

Zhang Li came over to Su Ning and whispered,

“You saw Zheng Yaxian, right? Hasn’t she changed a lot? When I first saw her, I thought she was a completely different person.”

Su Ning nodded, her eyes following Zheng Yaxian’s retreating team.

“She really is a different person now. The future version of Zheng Yaxian has returned to the present.”

They continued on their journey after that.

Along the way, Su Ning and the others said little.

They remained quiet until they reached Shelter No. 5.

The journey had been long and filled with challenges, but in the end, they overcame them all and arrived safely.

Su Ning stood before the shelter, staring at the unusual architecture, her heart filled with doubt and reflection.

Unlike Shelter No. 6, which was like a hidden underground fortress, Shelter No. 5 resembled a massive, fortified bastion, exuding a sense of authority and invincibility.

Most notably, it was protected by a transparent dome-shaped energy shield, like a giant eggshell enclosing the outer perimeter.
