Chapter 135: Zerg Invasion 29
Noon, inside the school.
It was originally time for classes to end and for students to eat, but the main road from the Fourth Laboratory Building to the Cafeteria was completely empty.
The weather today was not good; even at noon, it was dim and dark. The surroundings were very quiet, with only the sound of wheels as a cart moved along.
“Where are the Parasitized?”
Chu Yian looked at the empty surroundings, feeling strange.
Although the Fourth and Fifth Laboratory Buildings were secluded, they weren’t completely deserted. A simple estimate would put the number of people in the Fifth Laboratory Building and the Fourth Laboratory Building at sixty or seventy, even if most of them had become Parasitized.
“Never mind that, let’s get the sonar over there first.”
One of the students traveling with them said.
Once the sonar is deployed, all parasites and Parasitized will die!
They pushed the cart and ran wildly down the road, rushing all the way to the teaching building area. The First, Second, Third, and Fifth Teaching Buildings were all built together, but the Third Teaching Building was further away, closer to the dorms and the Cafeteria.
In the teaching building area, there was still no one outside.
And these towering buildings, pressed down by dark clouds, seemed to constantly compress people’s living space, giving off a strange sense of oppression and suffocation.
A boy in the team reached out and tugged at his collar, then took a deep breath, “I suddenly feel a bit uncomfortable. What’s going on with the whole school being empty?”
No one?
Chu Yian looked up at the tall buildings.
Some classroom windows were wide open, others were tightly shut, with the curtains drawn tight. Hearing the sound of cart wheels below, someone secretly pulled back the curtain behind a window.
“There are people down there, should we warn them?”
At this moment, a young boy asked.
His companion immediately stopped him, “Are you an idiot? Who knows if those people below are Parasitized or normal people? We don’t know where those Parasitized are hiding, but the people below are making such a big commotion; they’re dead meat.”
The slightly opened curtain was pulled shut again.
They had already reached the Third Teaching Building.
They hadn’t encountered anything dangerous along the way, which was surprisingly smooth, but everyone still dared not relax their guard.
The elevator initially stopped on the eighth floor.
After they pressed the button, it began to descend floor by floor. It was likely empty inside, so the elevator descended very quickly. However, just as it was about to fully reach the bottom, Lu Qingyuan suddenly frowned.
He reached out and pulled Chu Yian, who was near the elevator door, behind him, revealing the surgical scalpel he used for dissecting insects.
The elevator doors opened.
All the “people” hiding inside lunged out. They pounced towards the person closest to the elevator, opening their mouths to reveal the parasites within.
The ones transporting the sonar were, after all, strong young people. When these Parasitized rushed out, they still had at least some resistance.
But very quickly, this advantage in confrontation disappeared.
Parasitized emerged from everywhere in the corridors and stairwells of the Third Teaching Building. This instantly gave Chu Yian a sense of déjà vu, like being chased by zombies in the first round of the game.
Aside from the fact that these Parasitized people looked no different from normal people, this feeling was even more terrifying than pure zombies, sending adrenaline surging.
“Retreat, get out of here!”
Lu Qingyuan’s words echoed in everyone’s ears, and Chu Yian was the first to grab the small cart with the sonar. They dashed out of the Third Teaching Building and propped the outside door shut with an iron bar.
But a bigger problem was still coming…
