Road Survival: My Hearse Comes with Purification – CH63

Middle-Aged Triplets

Chapter 63: Middle-Aged Triplets

The man on the right nodded in agreement, speaking in a low, hollow voice. “Exactly. You spent a fortune in that second-floor shopping mall, didn’t you? Even the shop manager was bowing and scraping before you. What kind of treasures did you buy? Why don’t you show them to us too?”

The middle brother added, “And where did you get all that money? If you have a trick for earning coins, share it with us three brothers.”

Lin Huai finally let out a quiet breath of relief.

It wasn’t a cloning artifact, nor was it some high-level illusion spell. They were simply triplets whose heads were completely empty!

Lin Huai had seen young twins and triplets before, but this was her first time encountering middle-aged triplets. All three men were identically plain and greasy—truly an eyesore.

She let out a cold laugh. “Here I thought I had run into some dedicated fans, but it’s just you three clowns. My apologies—I was sitting too far away that day to notice you.”

She leaned forward slightly, her eyes cool. “So, you wasted a zone transfer card and traveled all this way just to see my shopping haul?”

The man in the middle drew a machete, his expression turning vicious. “You little bitch, stop playing dumb! Dump everything in your inventory onto the ground right now!”

Lin Huai took a steady breath and hopped down from the high door of her vehicle. With a flicker of light, her long war scythe appeared in her hands. “With your intelligence, I honestly have no idea how you managed to survive this long.”

She tilted her head, mocking them openly. “Coming all the way to my territory just to rob the server’s rank-one player… do you three share a single brain between you? Is it running short on power?”

The moment she finished speaking, the highway widened instantly as several new lanes tore through the mist. Dragon Emerging from the Sea charged in on his heavy Sabertooth, leading the convoy straight toward them.

Right on his bumper came Old Wang’s Level 4 heavy truck, followed by Fastest Hand’s black-and-red Level 4 delivery van.

Behind them, seven other teammates arrived just to enjoy the spectacle. Lin Huai felt a wave of helpless amusement. She had only sent an alert to Dragon Emerging from the Sea, yet the entire squad had tagged along for the ride.

If You’re Bad, Practice More waved enthusiastically from her window. “Boss! Why didn’t you call me when it was time to beat up idiots?”

Milk Tea Seven Parts Sugar parked her ambulance a safe distance away and poked her head out the door, giggling. “Hehe, Boss, we’re just here to watch the show! Don’t worry, I’ll keep my distance!”

Finding themselves completely surrounded by armored war machines, the triplets stared in disbelief. “How is this possible?! This can’t be! How could you have teammates? Who would ever come to help you?!”

Lin Huai’s eyes narrowed into cold slits. These triplets seemed to know an awful lot about her. “It sounds like we definitely need to have a little chat.”

She gave a small nod.

Dragon Emerging from the Sea moved with military precision. He stepped forward, kicked the middle brother hard behind the knee, and twisted both of the man’s arms, dislocating his shoulders with two sharp snaps. He stomped a heavy boot onto the man’s calf and pressed the muzzle of his handgun firmly against the back of his skull.

Sister Cai and Old Wang moved just as fast, tackling the other two brothers and forcing them down onto the wet asphalt.

The brother Old Wang was holding began to thrash violently, cursing and refusing to submit. Lin Huai glanced over, her patience running thin. “One living captive is plenty. Kill that one.”

Bang!

A crisp gunshot cracked through the rain, and the struggling brother went limp, collapsing face-first into the dirt.

“Third Brother!”

“Third Brother!”

The surviving two screamed in agony, their voices full of despair. The leader pinned beneath Dragon Emerging from the Sea glared up at Lin Huai with pure hatred. “Damn it! I listened to that bastard and made the wrong bet! If you want to kill me, do it! We three brothers live together and die together!”

Lin Huai bent down slightly, staring straight into his eyes. “Who told you about me?”

“Who sent you here? What exactly did they tell you?”

The man clenched his teeth, breathing heavily. “If I talk… will you let us walk away?”

Old Wang from Building Materials gave a mocking sneer. “Weren’t you just preaching about absolute loyalty? Weren’t you ready to live and die beside your brothers? What happened? Throwing your brother aside just so you can crawl away alive?”

If You’re Bad, Practice More clicked her tongue, shaking her head. “Triplets turned into twins. Even if you made it out, could you two really live with yourselves?”

Lin Huai shook her head with cold finality. “You know far too much. Tell me who sent you, and I’ll give you both a quick, painless death. I’ll even bury all three of you in the same grave.”

Her voice turned sharp. “Besides, that person pushed you straight into a death trap, yet you’re still protecting him. Did he save your family line, or do you treat him like your own father to show this kind of devotion?”

Her words struck a raw nerve, and the man’s fury boiled over. “Damn that bastard! We were played for fools!”

He spat blood onto the road. “That afternoon, the three of us watched you buy a massive pile of gear in the second-floor mall. We originally planned to jump you at the garage exit, but that Nine-Headed Bird manager walked you out himself, so we couldn’t make a move and had to watch you leave.”

“Shortly after you left, another man walked up to the second floor. He overheard us complaining and approached us on his own. He claimed he knew you personally and knew all your weaknesses. He gave us your zone number and handed us the zone transfer cards, telling us to come here and hijack your vehicle…”

The man swallowed hard, casting a terrified glance up at the green jade coffin resting above the cab. “He told us… that as long as we stole that jade coffin and brought it to him, he would introduce us directly to the server’s rank-two powerhouse…”

The other brother nodded frantically, eager to back up the story. “Yes! That’s the truth! He promised us endless resources! He said you drove a creepy hearse with a dead man’s coffin, that you dealt with corpses, and that you brought nothing but bad luck. He swore nobody in your zone respected you!”

“He told us you were cold, aloof, and always worked alone, so nobody would ever lift a finger to save you. He said if the three of us rotated our attacks, we could easily take you down!”

“He also said your fatal weakness was… it was—”

Bang!

Before the man could finish the sentence, a bullet drilled clean through his forehead. He collapsed backward onto the pavement, dead on the spot.

Lin Huai turned to the shooter in surprise.

Dragon Emerging from the Sea lowered his smoking pistol, keeping his other hand locked against the final brother’s head. Meeting the stunned looks from Lin Huai and the rest of the squad, his voice remained completely steady:

“The Boss’s weaknesses aren’t meant for anyone else’s ears—including ours.”

If You’re Bad, Practice More blinked, suddenly understanding. She nodded vigorously. “Right! You’re totally right! I didn’t even catch that. Brother Long really shows his military background—he’s so sharp!”

Old Wang from Building Materials stroked his chin thoughtfully. “Still, I am pretty curious. Who on earth fed them all that information about our Boss?”

He frowned. “It feels like this person knows our Boss very well, yet doesn’t understand her current situation at all… Could it be that Daoist priest, Master Cloud Cliff, the rank-two guy?”

Only one brother remained alive now. Shivering in the cold rain, the man wept openly. “Just kill me! I don’t know his real name, I swear! We were blinded by greed and fooled by a snake…”

Tears streamed down his dirty face as he choked out the truth: “I only know his username was… [Edge of the Blade]…”
