The Red Dragon King listened to these words, and his once-cloudy old eyes suddenly flashed with sharp light.
He shook his head. “No, the item must be here.”
Wu Xiaoguang thought he was talking nonsense. “There’s nothing here. Why do you think there would be some treasure?”
The Red Dragon King frowned slightly. “The air here feels different.”
Hearing this, Wu Xiaoguang took a step back and looked at him strangely, secretly thinking, This guy’s so mysterious, is he in some cult or what?
The Red Dragon King still refused to leave, but Wu Xiaoguang was getting annoyed. Staying here accompanying him felt like digging three feet into the ground for nothing — they hadn’t found a thing.

The Red Dragon King nodded, not rejecting the offer.
Wu Xiaoguang shook his head and left the cellar. True to his word, he grabbed a hoe and brought it back.
After he finished all this, he casually strolled over to the steward and said, “I’ve let your man in, and I’ve provided plenty of help. Now that you couldn’t find anything, you still have to pay me the rest.”
The steward looked at him like he was some piece of non-recyclable trash. “We didn’t find anything. Why should we pay you?”
Wu Xiaoguang wanted to argue shamelessly.
But the steward was already fed up with him. With just a glance, his men stepped forward, pinned Wu Xiaoguang to the ground, and grabbed his throat, making him completely immobile.
Wu Xiaoguang’s eyes were full of terror. He was just greedy for money; he didn’t want to lose his life. He tried to scream, but they covered his mouth.
“Yo, what’s going on here?”
A sudden voice made Wu Xiaoguang’s eyes light up. The steward and his men instantly turned vigilant, staring at the two strong men who had suddenly appeared.
These two weren’t strangers — they were Xu Youyou’s bodyguards. After receiving her instructions, they had rushed over to keep watch. They had thought they wouldn’t find anything, but unexpectedly, they caught a big fish.
The steward wasn’t flustered. He had brought enough men and wasn’t afraid of these two small fry.
However, as soon as their people engaged, they realized something was wrong.
These two were skilled fighters — fast, agile, and impossible to catch.
Not only that, but they had loud mouths too.
“Help! Help! Someone’s breaking into the house and robbing us!”
“Fire! Fire! Someone call the fire brigade!”
Their chaotic shouting alarmed the villagers. Although Wu’s house was at the end of the village and in a remote area, the commotion quickly stirred everyone up.
In less than three minutes, a crowd armed with kitchen knives and hoes came rushing over.
“They’re the robbers!” the steward immediately pointed at the two bodyguards.
But a villager shouted, “Nonsense! These two young men were brought here by Miss Xu. They stayed at my house last night! You’re the strangers here!”
“So they’re with Miss Xu? Miss Xu saved Old Man Wu. If she trusts them, they must be good people! You’re the bad ones!”
“Exactly! Look, they even pinned Xiaoguang to the ground. They must be up to no good!”
No matter how bad Old Man Wu’s temper was, or how much of a troublemaker Wu Xiaoguang was, they were still considered “their own people” by the villagers — naturally, they stood against the Red Dragon King’s group.
“They broke into Wu’s house and bullied Xiaoguang. Send them to the police station! Let them rot in jail!” someone shouted.
The steward gave Wu Xiaoguang a cold look and asked, “Do you still want your money?”
Wu Xiaoguang finally regained his freedom, climbed up from the ground, and dusted off his clothes. His eyes darted around slyly. Lowering his voice, he said, “Give me the money first, and I’ll help you handle these people.”
The steward sneered, “We’re just avoiding trouble, not afraid of them.”
Wu Xiaoguang looked conflicted for a moment, then said persuasively, “Trouble wastes time too, doesn’t it? And you guys don’t seem like you’re short on money.”
This actually moved the steward a bit. After all, the Red Dragon King hadn’t come out yet — no one knew if he had found anything. The steward knew just how much the Red Dragon King valued this treasure.
If they slipped up and let Xu Youyou snatch it first, it would be too late for regrets.
Gritting his teeth, he said, “Fine.”
Hearing this, Wu Xiaoguang immediately clutched his stomach and started howling in pain.
The village chief hurried over. “Xiaoguang, are you badly hurt? Should we call 120 for an ambulance?”
But Wu Xiaoguang was just putting on a show — he had only rolled on the ground a bit. He quickly waved his hands. “Village Chief Uncle, I’m fine, really…”
Meanwhile, he kept signaling to the steward with his eyes.
Seeing this shameless act, the steward had no choice but to signal his men.
Moments later, Wu Xiaoguang felt his phone vibrate. When he opened it, he saw he had received 800,000 yuan. Instantly, his face lit up like a Sichuan opera mask change. He beamed at the village chief:
“Village Chief Uncle, these people are my friends. We were just playing around.”
Even though Wu Xiaoguang said so, the village chief still looked suspicious. “These outsiders attacked Miss Xu’s bodyguards as soon as they arrived. They don’t seem like good people, Xiaoguang. You should think carefully.”
Wu Xiaoguang hadn’t expected that even though Xu Youyou had only been in the village for two days, she had already earned the village chief’s complete trust.
“Village Chief Uncle, it’s just a misunderstanding. The two bodyguard brothers thought they were bullying me when they saw us roughhousing,” Wu Xiaoguang explained.
Since he had said this much, the village chief, although still unhappy, could only wave it off and let it go.
The two bodyguards, however, saw that these people meant no good. Worried they might interfere with Xu Youyou’s plans, one of them quietly slipped to the back of the crowd and snapped a photo of the group, sending it to Xu Youyou.
Still at the hospital chatting with Old Madam Wu, Xu Youyou’s face darkened the moment she saw the photo.
She recognized the steward. He had followed the Red Dragon King back in Harbor City.
Xu Youyou couldn’t figure out how these people had discovered the secret she intended to uncover.
Old Madam Wu, shrewd as ever, immediately noticed Xu Youyou’s expression. “Miss Xu, is something wrong?”
Xu Youyou handed the phone to her. “Madam, you once mentioned that Wu Xiaoguang had a history of secretly selling off Old Master Wu’s things to outsiders, right?”
Seeing the photo of Wu Xiaoguang with a group of strangers at their doorstep, Old Madam Wu’s blood pressure spiked instantly.
“That little bastard!” she cursed.
