Cancer is Dead

Chapter 73: Cancer is Dead

“Kneel before Her Highness, the Princess!”

Su Wanqing knelt on one knee, bowing respectfully.

“Rise,” Fang Xiaocao said with a smile.

Upon hearing this, Su Wanqing obediently stood up, hands at her sides, waiting for further orders.

“Your codename?” Fang Xiaocao asked sternly.

“Replying to Your Highness, my name is Aquarius,” Su Wanqing responded in a low voice.

“Aquarius?” Fang Xiaocao murmured.

She had already confirmed in the future timeline that Aquarius was indeed a woman.

“Aquarius, your duty is to protect me,” Fang Xiaocao instructed.

“Understood, my Princess!” Aquarius nodded.

Seeing that Aquarius remained so obedient under hypnosis, Fang Xiaocao nodded in satisfaction.

She turned toward the camp. Pisces and Cancer had already begun their mission.

Silently, the two had snuck into the camp, each entering a different tent. Moments later, Fang Xiaocao saw liquid being poured over the tents.

Her “tiger and wolf strategy” was working perfectly!

“Aquarius, take me to the two girls you captured,” Fang Xiaocao ordered.

“Yes, Your Highness. Please follow me.” Aquarius responded respectfully.

“Lead the way,” Fang Xiaocao said, smiling slightly.

Aquarius led the way into the camp, with Fang Xiaocao following close behind.

At the same time, Pisces and Cancer emerged from their respective tents, their bodies covered in blood.

In the future timeline, Fang Xiaocao had already killed people before. Though she still felt uneasy at the sight of blood, she was no longer afraid.

Inside the camp, Pisces and Cancer exchanged glances before splitting up again to enter the remaining tents.

The camp had six tents in total—one for each person.

Previously, Pisces and Cancer had already eliminated two people. Of the four remaining tents, one belonged to Aquarius, one to the Scarface, and the other two contained the captured Yun Luoshu and Wan Xiaozhou.

This time, Pisces entered a tent but quickly exited again—it was Aquarius’s tent.

Without hesitation, Pisces turned toward another tent.

Meanwhile, Cancer stepped out of his tent carrying someone over his shoulder.

Fang Xiaocao focused her gaze.

The person Cancer was carrying was Wan Xiaozhou!

“Aquarius, let’s go,” Fang Xiaocao urged.

She quickened her pace toward the camp.

Cancer placed Wan Xiaozhou near the campfire before grabbing his knife and heading toward another tent.

Bang! Bang! Bang!

Suddenly, three gunshots rang out.

Fang Xiaocao’s heart jumped, and she quickly dropped to the ground.

Next to her, Aquarius swiftly drew her gun and assumed a defensive stance.

“Aquarius, go help them!” Fang Xiaocao commanded.

“Yes, Your Highness!” Aquarius responded and sprinted toward the camp.

Lying low, Fang Xiaocao peered toward the camp.

Cancer had been shot.

He lay in a pool of blood, his body trembling, unable to get back up.

“Was it Scarface?” she muttered.

Her eyes scanned the camp, searching for Scarface’s figure.

Bang! Bang! Bang!

Three more gunshots rang out.

Fang Xiaocao immediately turned toward the source.

The shooter was Pisces!

And his target was Aquarius!

“What’s going on?”

Fang Xiaocao was stunned.

Pisces had clearly been hypnotized—why did he suddenly betray them?

“Wait! It’s Scarface!”

A chilling thought struck Fang Xiaocao’s mind.

Pisces must have entered Scarface’s tent.

Scarface was also skilled in hypnosis—perhaps even a master of it.

Pisces had likely startled Scarface, only to be hypnotized in turn. That would explain his sudden betrayal!

Her eyes darted around the camp.

Sure enough!

The side of one of the tents had been cut open.

A shadowy figure slipped through the slit and darted into the forest.

“It’s Scarface!” Fang Xiaocao gasped.

She moved to chase after him, but before she could get up, two more gunshots rang out from the camp.

Bang! Bang!

She immediately dropped back down, eyes locked on the scene.

Pisces had picked up Cancer’s gun.

He looked down at the dying Cancer, his eyes cold.

Slowly, he raised the gun to Cancer’s forehead and disengaged the safety.

Bang!

A single gunshot.

Blood sprayed in all directions.

Cancer twitched briefly, then his eyes went lifeless.

At that moment, Fang Xiaocao felt the hypnosis link between her and Cancer break completely.

“Cancer is dead…” she whispered.

When a hypnosis link is broken, it means one of two things:

  1. The hypnotized person has died.

  2. The hypnosis has been lifted, which would cause backlash to the hypnotist.

Since she felt no backlash, there was no doubt—Cancer was dead.

Bang! Bang! Bang! Bang! Bang!

Bang! Bang! Bang!

The camp erupted in a fierce gunfight.

Gunshots rang out like popping beans.

Bang! Bang! Bang!

Bang! Bang!

Five more shots.

Then—silence.

Fang Xiaocao’s heart clenched.

She nervously turned her gaze back to the camp.

Eleven shots had been fired in total.

Both sides should still have bullets.

But the gunfire had stopped.

Which meant…

One side had likely been hit.

The only solace was that Fang Xiaocao could still feel her hypnosis links with Pisces and Aquarius.

That meant neither of them had died.
