A Takeout Order Costs 6,000?

Chapter 38: A Takeout Order Costs 6,000?

“Husky, are you a pig?”

Fang Xiaocao screamed, holding her phone.

On the screen, the payment page was open.

Amount due: 6,389 yuan!

Seeing this number, Fang Xiaocao was in utter disbelief.

Four girls ordering barbecue—how did it cost 6,389?

“Did we just get scammed?”

That was her first thought.

But when she opened the itemized bill, she froze.

The store’s prices were reasonable, even cheaper than dining in.

The ridiculously high cost?

It was entirely Su Wanqing’s doing!

Topping the receipt was a charge that made Fang Xiaocao’s blood pressure skyrocket.

Liquor: Feitian ×2 bottles—5,888 yuan!

Hearing Fang Xiaocao’s shriek, Su Wanqing guiltily stuck out her tongue and whooshed into her blanket.

“Husky, explain this to me—”

“What’s with the liquor?”

Fang Xiaocao fumed.

“I’ve never had it before…”

“I just wanted to try~”

Su Wanqing mumbled from under the covers.

“6000!”

Fang Xiaocao rolled her eyes so hard they nearly fell out.

Never had it before… so she ordered two bottles of Feitian to “try”?

Hearing the commotion, Yun Luoshu curiously glanced over.

When she saw the 5,888 yuan liquor charge, she was stunned.

Despite the pain in her body, she forced herself to sit up and peeked at what else Su Wanqing had ordered.

One look.

She fell silent.

Then she slowly gave Su Wanqing a thumbs-up.

“Sis, I respect you.”

Yun Luoshu sighed and climbed back into bed.

“Might as well take the beating. No punch should be wasted.”

Looking at Su Wanqing hiding under the blanket, Fang Xiaocao really wanted to sell her as ostrich meat.

She rejected the payment and placed a new order herself.

“It’s done. The food will be here soon.”

Fang Xiaocao set down her phone.

Before she could finish speaking—

“Whoosh!”

Su Wanqing sprang up like a zombie.

“What about the liquor?” she asked, blinking.

Fang Xiaocao glared at her, her small face stern and silent.

Seeing Fang Xiaocao’s expression, Su Wanqing instantly wilted.

“Fine, no liquor then…” she muttered pitifully.

“Hmph!”

Fang Xiaocao snorted.

Half an Hour Later!

“Knock, knock, knock~”

There was a knock on the hospital room door.

“Go get the food,” Fang Xiaocao said to Su Wanqing.

“On it~”

Su Wanqing eagerly slipped on her slippers and ran to open the door.

“Come on, time to eat~”

She walked back in, holding the takeout, her voice loud.

“Keep it down! This is a hospital,” Fang Xiaocao reminded, exasperated.

Su Wanqing stuck out her tongue and started distributing the food.

After eating their fill, she took out the trash while Fang Xiaocao and Yun Luoshu lay in bed, chatting idly.

This wasn’t a hospital stay.

It was a vacation.

Ding-dong!

Suddenly, Fang Xiaocao’s phone rang.

She picked it up and glanced at the screen.

A WeChat message.

She blinked and unlocked the phone.

[Hot  Noodles]: Su Wanqing has been kidnapped. Run!

Seeing the message, Fang Xiaocao shot upright.

“What happened?”

“Who kidnapped Wanqing?”

She quickly replied.

[Hot Noodles]: No time to explain. Get Yun Luoshu and Wen Shi and run!

Fang Xiaocao froze.

Then she immediately slipped on her slippers and yelled,

“Luoshu! Something’s wrong! Grab Wen Shi, we need to hide!”

If Hot Noodles was sending urgent messages without explaining, it meant the situation was dire.

Hearing Fang Xiaocao’s urgency, Yun Luoshu was stunned.

She looked at her, confused.

“Stop standing there, move!”

Fang Xiaocao shouted.

Seeing her serious expression, Yun Luoshu didn’t hesitate.

She quickly got out of bed, wincing from the pain, and helped Fang Xiaocao lift the still-unconscious Wen Shi.

“Which way?”

Yun Luoshu asked.

Fang Xiaocao quickly messaged Scalding Noodles.

[Hot Noodles]: Go upstairs.

[Hot Noodles]: Use the stairs. She’s coming up the elevator.

“She?”

Fang Xiaocao’s heart skipped a beat.

Hot Noodles didn’t say “he” but “she.”

“That means the kidnappers are likely women.”

She quickly analyzed the message.

“We’re taking the stairs,” she whispered to Yun Luoshu.

Yun Luoshu nodded and followed her into the stairwell.

She didn’t ask why—she trusted Fang Xiaocao completely.

With Wen Shi between them, they climbed one floor up.

Suddenly, Yun Luoshu stopped.

With her tall, sturdy frame, she was like an immovable mountain.

Fang Xiaocao nearly tripped trying to pull her forward.

“Luoshu, why’d you stop?” she asked, confused.

“Wanqing!”

“We forgot about Wanqing!” Yun Luoshu said in a muffled voice.

“We didn’t forget.”

“We’re putting Wen Shi somewhere safe first, then we’ll go back for her.”

Fang Xiaocao said firmly.

“Okay~”

Yun Luoshu nodded.

Fang Xiaocao looked around.

Going up just one floor wasn’t enough.

She still didn’t know who the enemy was, but better safe than sorry.

She gestured to Yun Luoshu, and they climbed another floor.

Fang Xiaocao quickly opened the door to an empty hospital room.

“This should do,” she said.

Yun Luoshu helped place Wen Shi on the bed.

“Let’s go check on Wanqing.”

They headed back down.

Reaching their floor, they hid in the stairwell, peeking through the small glass window in the door.

There were more people now.

And at the center—

Su Wanqing, being held hostage.

By Han Xue.

Fang Xiaocao’s eyes widened like saucers.

Next to her, Yun Luoshu instinctively clenched her fists, ready to charge in.
