Here We Go Again?

Chapter 187: Here We Go Again?

“Your Highness, I have spread the message on the black market’s dark web as per your request.”

Tom closed his mini laptop and looked at Fang Xiaocao, reporting the task’s completion.

“Good job!”

Hearing Tom’s words, Fang Xiaocao nodded in satisfaction.

“Your Highness, you should get some rest. I’ll keep watch—no one will harm you. Also, I’ll check if there are any records on the dark web regarding the people on this list.”

Tom smiled at Fang Xiaocao, noticing the fatigue on her face.

“Alright, I’ll leave it to you,” she replied with a smile.

“Oh, wait!”

“Tom, come over here! Let’s split the weapons.”

Standing by the bedroom door, Fang Xiaocao glanced at the guns and short knives spread out on the bed and called out to Tom.

“Huh? What weapons?”

Hearing this, Tom was momentarily stunned and asked curiously while walking over.

The moment Tom saw the guns and short knives on the bed, his eyes lit up with interest.

“Your Highness, where did you get these weapons?” Tom asked, intrigued.

As he spoke, he picked up one of the black short knives, examining its craftsmanship.

“They were inside that briefcase. The briefcase belonged to a blacklisted assassin named Taotie,” Fang Xiaocao answered honestly, not hiding anything from Tom.

Tom raised an eyebrow at her response.

“Your Highness, these are high-quality weapons! This black short knife is a custom piece, not only razor-sharp but also incredibly durable. Just this one alone is worth over ten thousand dollars.”

Tom admired the blade, clearly excited.

Fang Xiaocao was taken aback.

“This little knife is worth over ten thousand dollars?” she asked in disbelief.

“That’s right! And these two guns are custom-made as well—powerful, high-capacity, lightweight, and highly accurate.”

Tom quickly disassembled and reassembled one of the guns, demonstrating its craftsmanship.

“Are these worth over ten thousand dollars too?” Fang Xiaocao blinked in surprise.

“Correct. These two guns and the two short knives were made by the same weapons manufacturer. Altogether, they’re worth about sixty thousand dollars.”

Tom grinned.

“Holy… I just hit the jackpot!”

Fang Xiaocao chuckled.

“Let’s split the weapons!”

She picked up a short knife and handed it to Tom.

Tom didn’t refuse—he was running low on usable weapons, so this was a much-needed upgrade.

He strapped the black short knife and its sheath onto his belt and tucked the gun, along with its holster, into his coat.

Fang Xiaocao handed him three magazines, which he pocketed.

She then secured the remaining black short knife to her belt and packed her gun and extra magazines into her bag.

“Your Highness, get some rest!” Tom said before leaving the bedroom.

Fang Xiaocao closed the door, lay on the bed, and quickly drifted off to sleep.

Knock, knock, knock—

She didn’t know how long she had been asleep when loud knocking startled her awake.

Shaking her groggy head, she tried to clear her mind.

Knock, knock, knock—

The knocking came again. Fang Xiaocao immediately sat up, grabbing the short-handled axe beside her bed.

Barefoot, she crept to the door, axe in hand.

“Tom?” she called out cautiously.

“Your Highness, it’s me.”

Tom’s voice came from the other side.

“Phew…”

She exhaled in relief and lowered the axe.

“What’s going on?” she asked while getting dressed.

Glancing at her phone, she realized it was already nighttime.

“Your Highness, I think we’re being watched.”

Tom’s voice was grave.

Fang Xiaocao instantly became alert.

She quickly finished dressing, pulled out her gun and spare magazines from her bag, securing them in easy-to-reach places.

Then, she opened the bedroom door.

“What happened?” she asked.

“Your Highness, while you were asleep, I hacked into the hotel’s surveillance system. I’ve been monitoring the cameras and noticed several people lingering outside our door.”

“Just now, someone even posed as hotel staff and knocked on our door.”

Tom’s expression was serious.

Fang Xiaocao frowned.

She immediately suspected the Blacklist assassins.

Their methods were identical to the previous times they had tried to kill her.

“They must be from the Blacklist. We might be in trouble.”

She spoke in a low voice.

“Your Highness, I’ll get you out of here!”

Tom immediately started gathering their belongings, preparing to leave.

“It’s too late now. Leaving isn’t safe. Out in the open, we’d be easy targets for snipers.

“We’re better off staying here and waiting for them to come to us.

“We can use the room as cover and fight them off.

“This is the city; they won’t have heavy weapons or dare to use guns and explosives openly.

“If they do, the police will be all over them in no time.”

Fang Xiaocao analyzed the situation carefully.

Tom paused, considering her words, and then nodded in agreement.

“Alright, I’ll prepare.”

He placed their packed belongings on the coffee table, opened his phone to monitor the hotel’s surveillance, and started setting up traps using whatever materials were available.

Fang Xiaocao didn’t remain idle either.

She opened the window, ensuring they had an escape route.

She also placed an extra short-handled axe on the table for Tom to use if needed.

Sitting on the couch, she toyed with her own axe, waiting for the blacklist assassins to make their move.

Tonight was going to be a long one.

A fierce battle was about to unfold.

Meanwhile, her mind raced—how had the blacklist found her so quickly?

She had deliberately avoided using her own ID to check in, using Tom’s passport instead.

Something wasn’t right.
