Chapter 134: Capricorn Appears
Tom took out his phone and typed a message.
[Tom: Your Highness, I have successfully checked in. The environment is secure.]
In Room 507, Fang Xiaocao, who had been waiting for Tom’s update, immediately responded:
“Good. Be careful of the police. They will likely verify your identity and test you in some way.”
[Tom: Don’t worry, Your Highness. This is a piece of cake for me.]
Inside Room 507, Fang Xiaocao blinked and then smiled.
“That’s true. Tom is a professional assassin, and even listed on the international black-and-red list. If he couldn’t handle such a minor issue, he would have been caught long ago.”
She muttered to herself as she picked up her phone to send Tom his next instructions.
“Tom, I need you to find a way to hack into the hotel’s surveillance system and send me a live feed of the cameras.”
“Be especially cautious—there are police in the surveillance room. You must leave no trace. They cannot suspect that the system has been compromised.”
“Can you do it? If not, don’t force it.”
After composing the message, she sent it.
[Room 806]
Reading Fang Xiaocao’s message, Tom pondered for a moment before replying.
[Tom: It’s challenging, but I can do it. I’ll need some time.]
[Room 507]
Seeing Tom’s response, Fang Xiaocao immediately sent another message:
“Don’t take unnecessary risks. Above all, do not expose yourself.”
[Tom: Understood, Your Highness.]
[Tom: I’ll start right away. Just wait for my update.]
“Stay in constant contact. Report to me immediately if anything happens.”
After replying, Fang Xiaocao tossed her phone onto the bed and started reviewing her plan.
“Now that Tom has successfully checked in, the first phase of the plan is complete. If he can hack into the hotel’s surveillance system and get the live feed, the plan will be a success.”
Her goal was to gain a set of eyes.
The hotel’s surveillance cameras were the best option.
With access to the live footage, she could monitor everything in the hotel without leaving Room 507.
She wouldn’t have to feel like a blind and deaf kitten anymore, vulnerable and clueless about the dangers outside.
“Nice~”
“Tom’s return was perfect timing.”
She grinned to herself.
Outside the Hotel
A black van pulled into a temporary parking space near the entrance.
Inside, a seductive woman dressed in a black leather outfit and wearing sunglasses stretched lazily, showing off her alluring figure.
“Capricorn, the target is on the fifth floor of this hotel.”
In the backseat, a man in a black suit tapped away at a laptop without looking up.
If Fang Xiaocao had heard this name, she would have jumped three feet in terror.
No one would have expected that this alluring woman was actually Capricorn—the infamous assassin whose reputation surpassed even Scarface in the underworld.
“Mmm~”
“Is Thousand Faces inside?”
Capricorn let out a soft hum, asking lazily.
“No, Thousand Faces’ location is not in the hotel.”
The man glanced at his screen and confirmed.
“Hah.”
“Always slacking off.”
Capricorn chuckled and stretched her arms.
Then her expression turned icy.
“Give the order. No matter the cost, eliminate the target. I must avenge Gemini.”
Her seductive face now exuded a chilling aura.
“Understood!”
The man nodded.
“Let’s go~”
Capricorn’s seductive tone returned as she dragged out her words.
The black van started up and slowly drove away.
Immediately after, a black business car seamlessly took its place in the parking space.
With a soft clunk, the van’s sliding door opened, and a well-dressed man and a woman in a tight business dress stepped out, holding hands and chatting intimately as they entered the hotel.
Once they were inside, the black business car quickly drove off in the same direction as the van.
Hotel Front Desk
“Hello! Do you have a reservation?”
The receptionist, maintaining a professional smile, looked at the middle-aged man in a business suit and the alluring woman in black stockings beside him.
However, behind her professional demeanor, a glint of gossip flickered in her eyes.
As someone who had worked at the front desk for a while, she had seen plenty of “boss and secretary” pairs checking in.
“We have a reservation—Room 518 on the fifth floor.”
Before the man could speak, the young woman answered first.
“Alright, please hold on while I check your reservation.”
The receptionist smiled as she typed into her computer.
“Is this the room booked by Manager Ma from Zhishi Group’s Sales Department?”
“Yes, that’s us.”
The woman smiled sweetly.
“Please confirm the guest name registered under Manager Ma’s reservation.”
“Our boss’s surname is Li.”
“Understood. May I see your IDs? I need to complete your check-in process.”
The woman took two identification cards from her bag and handed them over.
After verifying their information, the receptionist handed them a key card.
“Here’s your room key. Please keep it safe. If lost, report it to the front desk immediately to prevent financial loss.”
“Thank you~”
“Darling, let’s go~”
The woman took the key card, thanked the receptionist, and, clinging to the man’s arm, swayed her hips as they headed toward the elevator.
“Tsk tsk~”
“Darling? So cheesy.”
The receptionist muttered sarcastically.
“What’s up?”
Her coworker asked curiously.
“That guy is old enough to be her grandfather…”
The two receptionists giggled as they gossiped about the “May-December” couple.
Hotel Surveillance Room
Wang Qiang picked up his radio and pressed the button.
“This is Wang Qiang. Verify the identities of the guests who just checked in.”
“Roger that!”
A response crackled through the radio.
Wang Qiang then switched the surveillance monitor to show the elevator feed.
He watched as the man and woman openly flirted in the elevator and frowned.
“Looks like I was overthinking it.”
He switched the monitor back.
Just then, a voice reported through his radio:
“Team Leader, the identities of the two guests are confirmed. No issues found.”
“Understood.”
Wang Qiang acknowledged.
Suddenly—
“Team Leader, we found something suspicious on the third floor!”
“Possible traces of the fugitive assassin.”
The radio crackled with an urgent report from one of the criminal investigators searching for the assassin.
Wang Qiang immediately responded:
“Mobile Unit, move in and provide support! Do not fire unless absolutely necessary—avoid harming civilians and causing panic.”
“Ensure the safety of innocent bystanders while securing the target.”
As he spoke, he sprinted out of the surveillance room.
“Roger that!”
A chorus of acknowledgments echoed through the radio.
