Chapter 151: Chilled to the Bone, Heart Taking Flight
He clearly hadn’t expected anyone to come in at this hour. He couldn’t help lifting his head to look at Nan Xun, a trace of surprise in his eyes.
Only then did Nan Xun get a good look at him. He was quite handsome, his face sharply defined. It was just that when his eyes settled on someone, they carried a fierce edge. Though he was still fairly young, Nan Xun could read a few strands of weariness in his gaze.
Seeing him, the man asked coolly, “New arrival from A Block?”
Nan Xun nodded. Since the man asked that, he probably wasn’t from A Block—everyone there already knew Nan Xun as the new guy today.
Perhaps finding him agreeable, the man offered a reminder. “Your A Block’s Yan Luo just went in. He doesn’t like being disturbed when he showers. Even I avoid him and make sure not to cross paths.”
Curious, Nan Xun asked, “May I ask who you are, big brother?”
The man paused slightly, studied him for a moment, then said, “Has anyone ever told you that you look like a little lamb who wandered into a wolf’s den by mistake?”
Nan Xun bared his teeth at him. “No. I’m a wolf cub that wandered into a pride of lions. When I get vicious, I can bite a lion to death.”
The man seemed amused. Though his expression remained serious, the corner of his mouth lifted faintly. Then he said, “I’m Ji He, from B Block.”
After dropping that bombshell, he pulled on his prison uniform and left, giving Nan Xun a carefree retreating figure.
Nan Xun stood there dumbfounded for a moment. That man was Ji He, the boss of B Block?
He’d thought it would be some muscle-bound brute like Scarface. He hadn’t expected someone so… “normal.”
Outside was the B Block boss; inside was the A Block boss. Nan Xun felt his luck was almost too good.
From the inner room came the sound of running water—steady, rhythmic—clearly only one person showering.
Should he give up on bathing and slink back, or sneak in quietly, find the spot farthest from Yan Luo, rinse off fast, and bolt? Or should he wait outside until Yan Luo finished, then squeeze in for a quick two-minute cold shower before the others came in—or while those big shots were still stripping?
Nan Xun hesitated for a bit, then, shamefully, chose the last option.
Du Pan had said from 8:30 to 9:30 was less crowded. Nan Xun figured it wasn’t even nine yet. Fifteen minutes should be enough for a man to shower. He could finish before Yan Luo came out and before anyone else went in.
But he hadn’t expected the guy to be so slow. He’d waited patiently for over ten minutes, and there was still no sign of him coming out.
Nan Xun crept over, braced a hand on the doorframe, and slowly poked half his head in, peeking inside.
With that one glance, Nan Xun staggered and quickly pulled his head back.
He’d accidentally seen something he shouldn’t have!
Would he get a stye from that?
But… that… wasn’t it a bit beyond normal human proportions?
And that build—broad back, narrow hips, a lean, powerful waist—could put models to shame.
Nan Xun swallowed and slowly shrank backward.
Just then, the man inside glanced toward the door and said coldly, “What are you hiding for? Get in here.”
Nan Xun’s heart skipped a beat. He snapped to attention at the doorway, standing straight, and blurted out, “Brother, I really didn’t mean to disturb you. I was just checking how much longer you’d be.”
His expression was genuinely innocent—black, bright eyes still misted with steam.
If this were a woman, the impact would’ve been lethal. Too bad Nan Xun was now a man.
Hearing this, the man’s sharp, venomous eyes narrowed slightly.
Steam from the hot water filled the room, shrouding his face. His short hair, damp and slick, lay flat as he swept it all back, exposing a full forehead.
Nan Xun didn’t dare stare, but that fleeting glimpse was enough for him to realize how handsome the man was.
Great body, great looks—why not be a celebrity? Why insist on messing around in the underworld?
The man studied him for a long moment, then suddenly crooked a finger at him.
That gesture was just like calling a puppy over for food—infuriating to watch.
Nan Xun’s eyes flickered. He tugged at his prison uniform and chuckled awkwardly. “Brother, I haven’t even taken my clothes off yet. Wouldn’t it be inappropriate to go in?”
The man’s lips curved slightly, his eyes narrowing. His voice was deep and commanding. “Come here.”
Nan Xun heard an order in those two words—one that brooked no refusal. After a moment’s thought, he took off his shoes and socks outside, then went in fully dressed.
Watching this, the man let out a faint snort through his nose.
Nan Xun tiptoed closer and tested the waters. “Brother, do you want me to scrub your back?”
Just as Nan Xun stepped within arm’s reach, the man suddenly grabbed his collar, lifted him with one hand, and slammed him toward the ground.
Good lord—if his head really hit, there’d be no doubt it would crack open!
Luckily, Nan Xun had been prepared. At the critical instant before being flung down, he shot his legs out and hooked them tightly around the man’s neck, clamping down hard, like rubber—no way to shake him off.
The man paused, then let out a soft laugh. “Kid, who taught you that move?”
Nan Xun’s legs were locked around his neck, the rest of his body hanging off him for leverage. He’d intended to flip midair and twist the man’s head and body to the ground—but he quickly realized it wouldn’t work on this man.
Compared to him, Nan Xun’s strength was far too small. Any flashy technique lost its edge against sheer power.
Still hanging there upside down, Nan Xun found the sensation unpleasant and tried to bargain. “Let me down first, and I’ll tell you who my master is.”
“Kid, are you bargaining with me?” The man’s tone lifted slightly, dangerous.
Nan Xun cursed, “You’re the kid! Your whole family are kids! I’m almost nineteen!”
“Heh—kid’s angry.” The man’s tone lifted again, this time with a hint of amusement.
“Kid, get down already. If you don’t, your pants are going to fall off,” the man teased.
Nan Xun jerked his head up, trying to look, only to miss his own pants and accidentally see something he definitely shouldn’t have.
He hurriedly looked away, braced his hands on the ground, and prepared to loosen his legs—but in the process of getting down, he felt a sudden chill at his backside. His pants were smoothly stripped off.
These prison pants really came off easily.
Chilled to the bone—heart taking flight.
