I Become a God in the Mysterious World – CH232

[Blessed with Longevity] Such a Good Person

Chapter 232: [Blessed with Longevity] Such a Good Person

Bai Cha let out a soft sound of surprise, looking as though she had only just discovered the large crowd walking over below.

“What’s going on down there? Did something happen out front?”

Everyone present—patients and medical staff alike—cast a glance downstairs to a greater or lesser degree.

A few orderlies walked over, peering closely at the scene below.

It seemed that virtually everyone from the front yard was down there.

Patients and doctors had all rushed over, with security personnel accompanying them as well.

The crowd exchanged bewildered glances.

It was indeed rather odd.

Qin Yu seized the opportunity to steal a glance at Bai Cha.

Bai Cha offered him a quick wink.

Qin Yu felt immensely relieved.

It seemed there truly was a chance to escape.

Chang Yashi was standing beside another player; noticing the brief interaction between the two, they exchanged a glance as well.

The pair separated instantly, stepping toward other players to double-check their alignment.

Next was simply waiting for the final moment.

Downstairs, the vacant ward rooms now welcomed their new patients.

It took Qin Fa no small amount of effort to barely soothe them, assuring them that they would undergo immediate examinations to check for any abnormalities inside their bodies.

Meanwhile, Bai Cha refrained from triggering any more Dodder Vines.

Qin Fa led a flock of staff through half a day of frantic work, but the results of the examinations were naturally inconclusive.

Ordinary medical equipment couldn’t even detect the physical shifts in their bodies after consuming the Tai Sui, let alone the Dodder Vines, which were equally supernatural existences.

Fortunately, after two hours elapsed without further incident, the crowd grudgingly accepted Qin Fa’s claim that the issue likely originated in the front yard.

Qin Fa himself didn’t believe a word of it, however.

His expression was dark beyond measure.

It was time to go check on the main body.

Descending downstairs alone, he made his way into the subterranean area.

This place was riddled with mechanism traps, constructed solely to protect the mass of white flesh resting inside the central box.

The main body of the Tai Sui was entirely undisturbed.

Standing before the box, Qin Fa’s eyes burned with violent, murderous intent.

He had no idea who was behind this, yet his instincts told him it was inextricably linked to those few special patients.

After considering it back and forth, he reached out, snapped the box shut, and stowed it on his person.

He knew that a more rational approach would be to leave the Tai Sui right here; given the mechanism traps he had poured an immense amount of blood and sweat into, it was completely impossible for anyone to leave alive.

Yet, for one thing, he couldn’t control himself.

After consuming the Tai Sui, all of a person’s desires would be amplified.

It was only because he had been cautious back then, refraining from devouring the Tai Sui whole and merely testing a small portion.

And the negative impulses driven by these amplified desires were fully capable of destroying a person’s sanity.

For another thing, those Dodder Vines didn’t resemble ordinary plants—they felt like entities on par with the Tai Sui and those ghosts, belonging to mysterious forces of another realm entirely.

Under such circumstances, these mechanism traps might not necessarily kill an intruder.

Therefore, he hadn’t lost his mind completely after all.

Only… without those traps to face mysterious forces, could he hold them off on his own?

He didn’t know, yet he felt a strange prickle of excitement.

It had been far too long—he had researched the Tai Sui for far too long.

He knew ghosts existed, yet he could neither see nor touch them.

He could only speculate through fragmented words and rumors; because he knew of a special entity like the Tai Sui, he believed souls were real.

And observing these psychiatric patients, it wasn’t hard to tell that they truly seemed plagued by ghosts.

Yet he still had no way to come into direct contact with them.

Until these past few days.

He felt as though the entire world had undergone some subtle, indescribable shift.

All these sudden upheavals before his eyes likely corresponded to what he had sensed earlier.

Perhaps that mysterious world was slowly unveiling its curtain before him.

This was a crisis, but it was an opportunity as well.

Qin Fa emerged from the subterranean area, returning to his office.

It was already noon.

Perhaps it was time to conduct treatments for those few patients.

He instructed the staff to bring all the players out.

The moment Bai Cha spotted Qin Fa, her eyes lit up.

“Doctor Qin, are we going for treatment now? I saw a huge crowd coming downstairs today—did something happen out front again?”

She appeared in far better spirits.

Qin Fa’s heart grew even more displeased.

He thoroughly loathed people like this—people radiating the vibrant spark of life.

This Li Yun had originally been half-dead, staring off into space every single day, yet ever since she developed romantic feelings for him, it seemed as though she found a drive to go on living.

Her entire being bloomed with life once again.

It was truly revolting.

Though he currently possessed the power of immortal life as well, no one knew better than he did that as long as he failed to bring the Tai Sui under control, he remained on the brink of death at any second.

It hung above his head like a ticking time bomb.

Yet these young people still possessed genuine life.

How enviable—and how deeply infuriating.

Yet Qin Fa displayed none of it on his face.

“Yes.” He offered a soft smile, saying, “A minor incident occurred out front, so I had those elderly residents move to the rear building for the time being.”

Bai Cha nodded continuously while simultaneously triggering a Dodder Vine inside a nurse’s body.

That nurse was standing at the nurse desk a short distance away.

“So that’s how it is…”

While doing all of this, her mouth was still speaking; before she could finish her sentence, a blood-curdling shriek cut her off.

Like everyone else, her eyes darted over instinctively.

It was a male nurse.

He collapsed to the floor while screaming, yet the vines on his body kept growing continuously.

The surrounding nurses scattered in terror, shrieking as they fled.

With a dark, thunderous face, Qin Fa strode over instantly.

The vines on this man’s body grew at a relatively slow pace.

Because Bai Cha was controlling them.

She didn’t intend to let this nurse die directly; the Dodder Vine expanded slowly, coming to a halt upon reaching a specific threshold. The man merely turned somewhat withered and emaciated, far from perishing.

Qin Fa crouched down to examine the nurse’s condition, attempting to yank at one of the vines.

The nurse unleashed a pathetic wail instantly.

Once these vines sprouted, they fused entirely with his body, inherently turning into a part of his physical frame.

Several players standing beside Bai Cha gathered near her without making a scene.

“Do we move?”

“No.”

Bai Cha put on an expression of complete shock, covering her mouth.

“Wait a bit longer. I’ll call you when it’s time—remember to bring along those few who can no longer get up.”

She had spotted Wang Lei and Meng Bian that morning; both were lying in bed, having undergone frontal lobotomy procedures as well.

As for mentioning this… she held no grand intentions, merely giving these players something to occupy themselves with so they wouldn’t mess things up out of good intentions, making sure they listened to her carefully.

The players were indeed deeply moved in their hearts.

To think that at a time like this, Bai Cha could still remember those three crippled players—it proved Bai Cha was truly a great person!

It had been a long time since they encountered a player in an instance who still remembered those who could only drag the group down at a critical moment.

It wasn’t that most people lacked goodwill entirely, but more often than not, self-preservation took priority—after all, who knew what one might encounter inside an instance?

Yet right now, Bai Cha—who was clearly stronger than them—had extended goodwill first, so they naturally wouldn’t brush her off.

Though it was equally true that a select few felt indifferent in their hearts.

Bai Cha couldn’t care less what they thought anyway.

Moving her steps cautiously, she shuffled right up to Qin Fa’s side.
