I Become a God in the Mysterious World – CH229

[Blessed with Longevity] Probing Concluded

Chapter 229: [Blessed with Longevity] Probing Concluded

Bai Cha sat on her bed putting on a trance-like front, looking every bit like someone who had just awakened and hadn’t quite regained her senses yet.

Qin Fa stepped inside.

Sweeping his gaze across the three occupants in the ward, he ignored the other two and looked directly at Bai Cha.

“Bai Cha, step over here with me for a moment.”

After he spoke, Bai Cha still offered little reaction.

She let out a yawn, looking toward the doorway as her eyes brightened slightly.

“Doctor Qin? Are you calling me? My apologies, I don’t know why, but I feel exceptionally sleepy today.”

Saying this, Bai Cha let out another yawn, tears welling up and spilling over her eyelids.

Nevertheless, she stood up with swift movements.

Qin Fa narrowed his eyes.

His glasses had been destroyed in the blast, leaving him without them at the moment. Coupled with his foul mood, he appeared far more stern and grave than usual.

Exchanging an initial glance, he caught zero flaws in Bai Cha, merely offering a nod.

“I have a few matters to discuss with you. Come over.”

Bai Cha let out yet another yawn.

She appeared thoroughly exhausted and listless, her entire presence void of any defensive vigilance.

Arriving at the doctor’s office, Bai Cha slumped into a chair almost entirely limply, devoid of proper posture.

Seated across from her, Qin Fa sized her up once more.

“There was a power outage at noon today.”

Bai Cha blinked her eyes groggily twice before taking the information in.

“Ah? At what time? I didn’t know at all!”

“It happened right around noon. There was an explosion over at the nursing home area as well.”

Bai Cha finally looked several degrees more clear-headed, a expression of complete shock surfacing on her face.

“An explosion?”

Qin Fa’s eyes never strayed from Bai Cha’s face for even a second as he nodded.

“Yes. And multiple explosions occurred, in fact.”

“Ah…” Bai Cha froze for a moment, then spoke: “Why? How could an explosion happen? How many times is ‘multiple’? Doctor Qin, you didn’t get hurt, did you?”

Sitting bolt upright, she scrutinized Qin Fa before her intently.

“Come to think of it, Doctor Qin, where are your glasses? You didn’t actually sustain injuries, did you?”

“I’m fine. My glasses fell to the ground, but I wasn’t hurt.”

Qin Fa softened his demeanor slightly.

“Informing you of this matter is primarily out of concern. On the off chance there are other explosives elsewhere, it could prove quite dangerous. For the next day or two, refrain from walking downstairs at will—we will conduct a full sweep first.”

Bai Cha nodded continuously, her face carrying a blend of emotional sighing and indignant anger.

“How could anyone plant bombs inside a nursing home? That’s far too cruel! Are they terrorists? Shouldn’t we report this to the police?”

“Not for now. Main reason being the perpetrator is highly likely hiding right within the nursing home. We shouldn’t startle the snake in the grass for now—we’ll pretend it was merely an accident and see if the other party displays any further reactions.”

Hearing this, Bai Cha nodded in full agreement as well.

Then, realizing the implication, she asked with a touch of surprise: “Is the perpetrator still inside the nursing home?”

“We cannot rule out that possibility.”

Qin Fa let out a soft smile, leaning his upper body back against the chair’s backrest.

Having said so much without uncovering a single flaw, it should indeed have nothing to do with Bai Cha.

However…

Straightening his posture once more, he leaned forward slightly, a subtle trace of oppressive aura radiating from his person.

“By the way, Bai Cha, how are you feeling given that we didn’t perform your treatment at noon today?”

“Sigh… Doctor Qin, I really am not Bai Cha,” Bai Cha let out a soft sigh.

“I feel alright, I suppose. Just extraordinarily sleepy today. Main reason being I felt my mental state wasn’t great last night to begin with, though I asked Nurse Lin when I got up just now—my period is due soon, so that might be the reason as well.”

Qin Fa nodded subtly. He naturally knew the true reason was that the woman’s life force was nearly depleted.

“Then there’s nothing else. Head back.”

Bai Cha nodded, unable to resist letting out another yawn. As she walked, her back sagged, looking every bit like a listless, roaming spirit.

Qin Fa cast a couple more glances at her before retracting his gaze, his expression turning somewhat overcast.

It wasn’t impossible for other patients to be involved, yet the probability of patients pulling this off was indeed not very high.

Mainly because of that piece of Tai Sui dropped on the stairwell.

Could someone have intentionally tossed it there?

Qin Fa knitted his brows in thought. Detonating a massive commotion as a diversionary tactic, just to toss a piece of Tai Sui?

It appeared thoroughly improbable—it looked far more like something dropped inadvertently in a hasty escape.

It was necessary to knock some sense into those people.

After all, given their intense craving for the Tai Sui, taking desperate risks to pull off something like this was hardly out of the question.

Some of them were originally born into wealthy families to begin with, making it completely understandable if they held contraband items in their homes.

The nursing home restricted only the entry and exit of patients, leaving these doctors, nurses, and security staff unrestricted.

It was simply that certain medical staff members held identities inconvenient for traveling outside, that was all.

Bai Cha walked all the way back to her ward room.

Her creating so much commotion was nothing more than distracting their attention.

As well as probing his reactions.

The result was self-evident.

Escaping from the nursing home held a rather low probability and was hard to execute, primarily because doing so proved exceptionally difficult given the players’ current frail condition.

However, if everyone held a few life-saving trump cards in hand, making a desperate gamble could still yield a way out.

Comparatively speaking, escaping the nursing home was indeed a far safer route to clear the game.

The game seemed to offer clearance paths that prioritized the simplest methods of survival.

Yet right now, she had to purge Qin Fa to survive.

Qin Fa… had clearly fused with the Tai Sui within his body.

He stood at the center of the blast today; that level of impact was fully capable of blowing an ordinary human to death.

Setting aside the fact that he bore zero particularly obvious wounds, the mere immortality implied by that regeneration speed rendered this man exceptionally hard to kill.

The lack of major wounds on his body might also be attributed to that rapid regeneration speed.

The smoke had been far too thick at the time to discern the specific details clearly.

It was completely un-extraordinary for Qin Fa to come probe her.

By all appearances, the other party harbored no suspicions toward her for the time being.

Bai Cha’s usual treatment time arrived soon after.

Tonight, however, treatment sessions for all patients were halted.

Supposedly, because certain incidents transpired during the power outage today, minor issues arose on the treatment room’s end, prompting a temporary suspension of today’s treatments.

Bai Cha felt zero surprise toward this news; given Qin Fa’s cautious nature, he would inevitably make a choice like this.

Because this game was merely its initial version, with zero players having cleared it yet, Qin Fa had not yet realized further anomalies.

Viewed from Qin Fa’s perspective, these patients held zero chance of escape to begin with, bound to die sooner or later anyway.

For the other players, this was practically astronomically wonderful news.

Had treatment continued any further, they truly wouldn’t even hold the physical strength left to walk.

Someone failed to control their facial expression, drawing an instant, icy glare from a nurse.

Bai Cha put on an expression of surprise that swiftly shifted into understanding.

Nothing redundant was shown, and Lin Hong harbored no suspicions either.

However, despite halting treatments, the patients were restricted in their movements, ordered to remain inside their rooms without stepping out.

Bai Cha hadn’t intended to pull off anything tonight to begin with.

Getting a proper rest—a tough, brutal battle awaited tomorrow.

Furthermore, her exhaustion wasn’t entirely staged.

The power granted to her by the puppy was minuscule, serving merely to firm up her self-awareness that she was Bai Cha.

Though absorbing Li Xiang’s husband granted her brief mental clarity, it imposed a physical burden on her body.

Same went for He Yan.

She indeed needed to sleep.

[Ha! I called it! How could she possibly not sleep!]

Though live stream bullet chat was disabled inside the instance for Bai Cha, the bullet chat had remained buzzing with activity all along.
