Chapter 100: Excessive
Jiang Youwei had been facing quite a few troubles lately.
Ever since one day when Zhu Qinglan casually mentioned, “The skewers are actually pretty tasty,” she had rekindled her love for food.
The Jiang family’s chef was deeply moved and prepared delicious dishes in various styles. As a result, Jiang Youwei’s weight had gone up several pounds.
Zhu Qinglan also arranged outings with her old friends to go hiking, and afterward, they would look for good food.
After a few months, her calf muscles had become strong, and her stamina was enough to walk all the family dogs without any trouble.
During the physical check-up earlier in the year, the doctor had mentioned that Zhu Qinglan’s stomach showed some shadows. Though not serious, it was best to pay attention to her diet and regulation.
This month’s check-up showed that the shadow was gone. Previous minor indicators had returned to normal, and the doctor even praised her for her mental outlook and overall health.
Then the doctor turned to Jiang Youwei and suggested that he could eat more whole grains from time to time.
His second worry was about Jiang Chuchu.
Since childhood, Jiang Chuchu had always acted like a big sister because she had to look after Qin Yue, her “little brother,” and run around with him. Combined with the Jiang family’s status, even children older than her would yield when conflicts arose.
Over time, this had shaped her into a strong-willed and proud personality.
However, Jiang Chuchu wasn’t inherently bad. Jiang Youwei thought that as she grew older and came into contact with more people and experiences, her personality would mellow a bit.
He didn’t expect the change to come so quickly—and so drastically!
Jiang Youwei was indeed pleased with his daughter’s progress. Yet, as a parent, it was inevitable to feel a little left behind, like one was no longer needed—who could understand an old father’s sentimentality?
With this bittersweet feeling in his heart, on Friday evening, Jiang Chuchu yanked Jiang Youwei up from the recliner.
“Dad! Emergency situation!” Jiang Chuchu looked flustered and frazzled.
Jiang Youwei was still a bit dazed. “What happened?”
Jiang Chuchu rattled off her responsibilities as the head of the counterattack plan like firecrackers: “I didn’t expect there would be so many things! They’re all piled up at once, and I don’t know where to start!”
The more Jiang Youwei listened, the more awake he became. By the time she finished, he was feeling a little emotional.
For one thing, during his own school days, he had never done anything like directing an entire class to confront another class.
“You underestimated your own abilities. So what are your thoughts now?” Jiang Youwei asked.
Jiang Chuchu hesitated, struggling to answer.
Jiang Youwei wasn’t trying to force her to admit failure. He simply said patiently, “Next time before you do something, first understand the actual situation, then consider your abilities, and make a reasonable judgment.”
Jiang Chuchu nodded obediently and muttered, “Before, Qinghuan managed it so easily…”
When the blackboard had been vandalized with paint, Gu Qinghuan’s series of actions had impressed the entire class. Everyone had been proud of their class president.
Hearing the name “Qinghuan,” Jiang Youwei felt a headache coming on, deeply suspecting that Gu Qinghuan had somehow put a spell on his daughter.
Yet, hearing this made him even more motivated.
There was no way he would lose to his daughter’s class! Just a little counterattack plan—how could he not teach his daughter how to do it?
Jiang Youwei immediately took Jiang Chuchu to the study and started a teaching session.
Meanwhile, Gu Qinghuan, who was still idle, began observing the small group chat.
After turning on “Do Not Disturb,” she hadn’t posted in the chat and didn’t plan to participate in the police-related plan. But that didn’t mean she wasn’t watching—after all, even if it was her own plan, gossip was still gossip, and she could enjoy it!
The police clearly took the matter seriously, gradually bringing more people into the group.
Gu Qinghuan had originally named the small chat group “Plan B” on a whim, and occasionally someone would ask why it was called that.
Bao Rujian simply explained: the girl had an “Plan A” for setting up other classes. This plan involved the police and the entertainment industry and was only a backup in case Plan A failed.
For a moment, everyone went silent. Then someone asked, “Does she have any interest in military or police schools?”
If she hadn’t wanted to quietly enjoy the gossip, Gu Qinghuan might have replied, “Not for now.”
Actually, the group didn’t have much activity. Its main purpose was to facilitate communication between Bai Qingyin and the police—Bai Qingyin provided clues, the police followed up, and then reported the investigation results back to her.
Professionals were efficient and excellent, and Gu Qinghuan secretly learned a few tricks from them.
With Bai Qingyin providing clues, the police quickly identified several old Chen family cases and reopened investigations.
It even implicated some internal personnel who had connections with the Yan family, which was shocking.
To avoid alerting suspects, these individuals weren’t arrested immediately but were placed under surveillance for covert investigation.
On another front, the investigation targeting Yan Zhengqing did uncover some things.
Perhaps because the Yan family viewed Yan Zhengqing’s actions as “minor mischief,” they hadn’t been thorough in preventing him.
The police quickly located two people who had been responsible for cleaning up after Yan Zhengqing’s misdeeds, based on information from those previously harmed by him.
Following the trail, they discovered these two were affiliated with a certain security company.
Digging further into the company—a big catch.
The anti-crime office was ecstatic: it was a goldmine! Their performance assessments relied heavily on this.
In short, the group chat gradually grew as more professionals joined—not just the police—making Gu Qinghuan feel largely unnecessary.
By the end of the weekend, Jiang Chuchu returned to the class with thick folders, inviting Chen Zelin to observe. On Monday’s morning study session, she explained the plan Jiang Youwei had helped her with and then handed out folders with individual task assignments.
Chen Zelin held the plan book and began to feel overwhelmed. How had he wasted so many years being older than the students and learned so little?
“The plan is like this. If there are questions, raise your hand now. If you have any objections to your assigned tasks, speak up now—I’ll adjust immediately,” Jiang Chuchu said with an authority greater than ever before.
The students of Class Three were obedient: what the class president said went.
Gu Qinghuan raised her hand. “What about me?”
She hadn’t even received a single sheet of paper.
Jiang Chuchu tapped her shoulder with the folder, which barely had any papers left. Preparing the plan had been exhausting, but it was rewarding.
With a serious tone, she said, “I have a very important task for you. Only you can complete it.”
Gu Qinghuan looked at her expectantly.
“Study,” Jiang Chuchu said, two words.
Gu Qinghuan: “…Huh?”
“Recently, we won’t have time to focus on classes. You’re responsible for taking notes. Xin Bao has already explained it to Su Lin, so if there’s anything you don’t understand in the next few days, you can ask her anytime. Once we deal with Class Twelve, everyone in our class will need to catch up on missed lessons, and that depends on you!” Jiang Chuchu waved her hand.
From the difficulty of the task alone, Gu Qinghuan felt that Chuchu was way more excessive than the system.
