Chapter 132: Slime King, Crisis!
“Sister Su, come look at my egg!”
As soon as Su Ning heard Li Ming shout, her vision went black with frustration. Her fists clenched—she felt like punching someone.
Li Ming realized what he had just yelled and immediately felt awkward. But there was no time to explain—his monster egg was cracking!
Su Ning walked over to see the “blind box” egg that Li Ming had.
It was clearly about to hatch!
This was the first time Su Ning had ever witnessed a monster egg hatch in person.
(Meanwhile, her own [Ghostly White Tiger] egg was still sitting in her backpack, patiently waiting for its master’s affection.)
Li Ming looked at the cracking egg with a mix of fear and excitement. He had no idea what kind of mysterious creature would hatch from it.
Su Ning was also curious to see what kind of monster Li Ming—who had the [Super Luck] talent—would get from a blind box egg. Would it be a 4% transcendent rarity? Or a 1% ultimate tier?
Crack… crack… crack!
A series of sharp cracking sounds rang out. Suddenly, a blinding light filled the entire room. A soft, gooey, snot-like blue creature appeared before them. Its body was squishy and elastic, as if it could melt and flow at any moment.
Li Ming stared wide-eyed at the strange little creature in front of him, overcome by surprise and curiosity.
He muttered, “Th-this… is this really my pet?”
But upon closer inspection, the creature didn’t seem particularly impressive. It just looked like a lump of slimy blue goo—definitely not majestic.
Disappointed, Li Ming sighed, “A… slime?”
He mumbled, “How could this be my pet? I was expecting a majestic dragon or something.”
Su Ning explained, “Slimes are actually very special monsters. They usually live in unique environments. Although their appearance is simple, they often have some truly rare abilities and traits.”
Hearing her words, Li Ming felt a bit comforted.
Maybe the slime wasn’t so useless after all.
After all, just having a pet of his own was pretty good already.
And if the slime really had some kind of special power, maybe one day it could even become a reliable partner.
With that thought, Li Ming started to take an interest in his new slime companion.
He decided to carefully study its abilities and potential to see if he could unlock its full power.
But when Su Ning checked the slime’s stats, her eyes widened in disbelief.
[Monster: Slime King]
Talents:
Liquefaction – Ignores all physical attacks!
Bottomless Stomach – Can devour most energy-based attacks! The limit depends on body color—when it turns red, it’s nearing overload.
Skills:
Gigantify – Instantly increases size by 100x.
Split – Can divide into countless smaller slimes.
Corrosive Liquid – Its internal fluid is highly acidic and can melt targets from within.
Water Jet – Fires a stream of water to attack enemies.
Owner: Li Ming
Looking at the translucent, squishy little slime snuggling in Li Ming’s arms, Su Ning was filled with shock and awe.
She had never imagined that such a cute little slime could have such terrifying talents and skills.
Especially those two talents—Liquefaction and Bottomless Stomach.
“Not only can it completely ignore physical attacks, but if its body can handle it, it can practically nullify energy attacks too! This slime is way too overpowered—it’s basically cheating!”
Su Ning couldn’t help but marvel.
She knew just how critical such abilities were in battle.
This slime was nearly invincible. Whether facing a physical-type or energy-type enemy, few could harm it.
Su Ning took a deep breath, trying to suppress the envy bubbling in her chest. “Not jealous, not jealous…”
But deep down, she knew she was just lying to herself.
How could she not be jealous?! A monster this powerful was practically a living fortress.
Meanwhile, back in her inventory, the yet-unhatched Ghostly White Tiger silently cried, “Mommy, have you abandoned me before I was even born?”
Li Ming looked down at the slime in his arms. “I’ll call you Little Blue. Even though you’re a slime, I’ll never look down on you. From now on, we’re partners—we’ll face life together!”
Little Blue: “Mmhm!”
Li Ming squatted on the ground, cuddling Little Blue. But suddenly, he stood up straight, grimacing as his head throbbed painfully—like a jolt of electricity surged through his brain.
“Ahh!”
Su Ning frowned, seeing his pained expression.
“What’s wrong with you?” she asked.
Li Ming was gripped by a deep sense of dread. It was the first time he had ever felt this kind of ominous pressure—as if something had locked onto him, something incredibly dangerous.
Meanwhile, in another part of Corpse Hell, a person identified as “Z” said, “The [Super Luck] host has been located. Let’s go.”
Another voice, “A”, replied, “Wait a sec—I tripped earlier and got my shoes dirty. Let me wipe them off.”
The short figure “Z” rolled his eyes. “You clean freak…”
Back with Su Ning and Li Ming—cold sweat broke out all over Li Ming’s body.
Su Ning’s unease only grew. Something wasn’t right.
“What’s going on?” she asked.
Li Ming looked at her seriously. “Sister Su, I don’t know either. But I know if we stay here any longer, we’re going to die.”
Su Ning stayed silent.
Li Ming grew anxious. “I’m not lying! I’ve never felt something like this before!”
Su Ning didn’t doubt him.
She knew about Li Ming’s [Super Luck] and how it could turn bad luck into good. But she hadn’t realized the talent could also act as a danger detector.
Su Ning (thinking): How do I get that talent?! I want it so badly!
She immediately grabbed her gear and headed for the door.
Looking back and seeing Li Ming still frozen in place, she snapped, “What are you standing there for? Didn’t you just say it’s dangerous?”
Li Ming snapped back to his senses. “Oh! Coming!”
He was stunned—not by the situation, but by the fact that Su Ning actually believed him.
Anyone else would’ve thought he was crazy.
But Su Ning had the Scavenger’s Eye, which let her see hidden data.
Su Ning looked one last time at the villa they were leaving behind. She truly liked this place—surrounded by forest, few zombies nearby. If left untouched, it could’ve become her personal base.
“Sigh… escape first. Can’t ignore Li Ming’s warning!”
But they had barely gotten 100 meters from the villa—
—when suddenly, the sky above them cracked open.
Li Ming’s headache surged violently.
“This is it… this is the danger!” he shouted.
Su Ning’s face turned grim. The teleportation method she just saw—clearly, the newcomers weren’t friendly.
Three figures stepped out of the rift. One of them held a half-dead player, bound and unconscious.
Su Ning glanced at the three newcomers, then turned and ran without hesitation.
Her heart was racing. This was the first time she had encountered something this terrifying.
Her Scavenger’s Eye—which had always worked—suddenly failed.
[??]
[??]
Two of the figures—a tall one and a short one—had no visible data. Su Ning instantly realized: they were extremely dangerous.
Z clicked his tongue. “Looks like the [Super Luck] host got the warning. Let’s begin.”
A glanced at Su Ning. “An outsider, huh? No problem. We’ll eliminate her too.”
A Talent Suppression Device was pulled out.
Su Ning was stunned. They’re after… Li Ming?!
But she wasn’t going to just sit and wait to die.
She instantly summoned Unit 1 from her planting space and ordered it to fire the Annihilation Cannon at the two enemies.
Su Ning herself spun around and used her Scavenger Poison talent—poison-tipped arrows flew toward the enemies.
But something unexpected happened—
Unit 1’s Annihilation Cannon misfired.
Su Ning’s talents… stopped working.
“What’s going on?!”
She looked again at the two mysterious figures and tried to use her Scavenger’s Eye—but nothing showed up.
“Talents… disabled?”
Reacting quickly, she pulled a firearm from her planting space (which she could still access) and tried to activate her [Deadshot] skill—
But Deadshot failed too. The gun fired wildly without control.
“How is this happening? Skills aren’t working either?!”
Li Ming, however, was staring at her in shock.
“Sister Su… you—your face, it’s changing!”
