Chapter 363: Apocalypse Fun House
Su Tao had seen the blueprints and knew what the room behind the door looked like, but she had no idea what it was for.
Wen Man couldn’t wait any longer and pushed the door open.
Xiao Wenyu, who was a step behind, flicked on the light with a snap.
Everyone froze when they saw the room in its entirety.
They genuinely couldn’t understand what they were looking at.
The room was colorful and full of flashing lights. To the left, there was a bar counter, and next to it stood a large square machine with two round discs and a panel of buttons in the middle—completely incomprehensible.
Luo Yan, who had seen many rooms by now, finally couldn’t hold back his shock. Pointing at the square machine, he said incredulously:
“Don’t tell me… that’s a DJ turntable?”
Su Tao and Wen Man had no idea what a “DJ turntable” was and looked completely confused.
Xiao Wenyu jumped onto the platform, walked up to the turntable, put on a pair of headphones, and deftly manipulated the controls. A powerful, thunderous beat suddenly reverberated through the room as the wall lights flared dazzlingly.
Su Tao’s eyes widened.
No wonder the blueprints specified the need for highly soundproof materials…
Xiao Wenyu took off the headphones.
“Yep, it’s a turntable. Sounds good, right? I spent over 20 million buying it from an overseas caravan after the apocalypse. It’s not even a pre-apocalypse product—it’s post-apocalypse and brand new.”
She pointed at the floor-standing microphone beside the turntable.
“You can sing there. The display screen behind it works like a private bar and KTV. I know a pretty famous male singer from Changjing—looks young and sweet, but he’s got solid skills. I’ll invite him to perform for us. I’ll also hire a bartender—has to be a handsome guy, or I won’t enjoy the drinks. And honestly, my DJ skills aren’t that great, so if I find a talented DJ, I wouldn’t mind paying a high price to keep him on call.”
“We’ll sit in the booths below the dance floor, watch them perform, and if we’re happy, we’ll throw a few checks their way. If not—next!”
Luo Yan immediately turned to his wife. “Manman, this place is inappropriate…”
The ever-demure Wen Man was completely overwhelmed—her pupils were slightly dilated.
Su Tao wasn’t faring much better.
Wait, you can do this kind of thing in the apocalypse?
She sincerely remarked, “Wenyu, you’ve learned a lot from your father.”
At first, she thought Xiao Wenyu, dressed plainly and unassumingly, led a simple life.
Clearly, she was overthinking it.
Xiao Wenyu waved it off. “Nah, the one who inherited my dad’s extravagance is my eldest brother—you saw him at the auction, the flashy one. If he owned this place, he’d spend ten times more than me, hosting bikini parties every night.”
“What I’m doing is small-scale.”
Her brother just wasn’t as lucky as she was—having money but nowhere to spend it. If he knew she had built this villa in Taoyang, he’d probably cry with envy.
Even their father had contributed to the villa’s design, describing in detail how luxurious his pre-apocalypse vacation homes had been. To this day, he still reminisced about the joy of living there.
While her siblings and father were still daydreaming about the pleasures of the pre-apocalypse world, she had already turned those dreams into reality in Taoyang.
That’s why it pays to be smart—never underestimate any place.
Luo Yan’s expression shifted unpredictably.
“Your ‘small-scale’ fun is seriously affecting our marital relationship.”
Bad influence!
Xiao Wenyu ignored him and turned to Wen Man.
“Manman, stay over for a few days. Don’t worry—it’s just eye candy. If that affects your relationship, then someone needs to work on their charm and feel a little pressure.”
Luo Yan felt the jab, but his traitorous wife nodded her agreement.
Xiao Wenyu grinned. “Boss Su, you too! I couldn’t have built this house without you. I love it so much—you must come to the housewarming party. You’re single, right? No one’s gonna mind if you stay out all night.”
Su Tao thought of a certain clingy ghost. She had promised to watch two episodes of a drama with him tonight.
To be honest, though, she really wanted to join the fun. She hadn’t seen these kinds of luxuries before and was itching to try them. After all the hard work she’d been doing lately, didn’t she deserve a little reward and relaxation?
He’d understand—probably!
Xiao Wenyu snapped her fingers. “It’s settled! Tomorrow, I’ll go find the singer, bartender, and DJ—no matter how far, I’ll send a plane to fetch them.”
Su Tao couldn’t resist asking, “How much did your private jet cost?”
With her current assets, could she afford one too?
Xiao Wenyu thought for a moment. “About the same as your piece of land.”
Su Tao clutched her chest.
Okay. Never mind.
At that moment, Wen Man knocked on another door. “What’s in here?”
“Guess,” Xiao Wenyu teased.
Su Tao shook her head. “I refuse to play this guessing game. Poverty limits my imagination.”
Xiao Wenyu and Wen Man assumed she was joking—how could the low-key boss of Taoyang possibly know poverty?
The quieter someone is, the richer they are.
Xiao Wenyu finally relented.
“It’s basically a supermarket. Once I gather enough crystal cores, I’ll get a Taoyang Business membership and stock the shelves. I love hoarding supplies—imagine pushing a little cart down here every day for snacks.”
Peeking inside, Su Tao saw rows of empty shelves. If fully stocked, they’d hold enough to last a lifetime.
This whole villa might as well be called the “Apocalypse Fun House.”
Wen Man was deeply envious.
Luo Yan immediately suggested digging a basement under their house and turning it into a mini-supermarket.
But after seeing Xiao Wenyu’s setup, Wen Man found the idea underwhelming and stayed silent.
Luo Yan had one thought: I’m doomed. I bought a cat and lost my wife.
He had a feeling that three days later, his wife would find an excuse to stay longer.
And the next day.
And the next…
