Chapter 151: The Shoes Are Really Pretty
Section Chief Yu personally accompanied Su He to the workshop.
The textile factory had many workshops, so Section Chief Yu led Su He through each one according to the production process.
S-City No.1 Textile Factory, had imported foreign production lines. Compared to An County’s textile factory, it was far superior in both scale and technology.
Su He thought to herself, It’s only because demand currently exceeds supply—otherwise, the An County textile factory wouldn’t even be able to survive.
After more than half an hour, they finally reached the finished products workshop.
While Section Chief Yu was introducing the facility, the workshop director Lian gestured to him that there was an urgent matter. Section Chief Yu asked Su He and Principal Chen to continue looking around on their own, then followed Director Lian to the office.
As Su He was carefully examining the finished products, a mocking voice came from behind.
“Well, well, isn’t this our big-time translator? What brings you to S-City No.1 Textile Factory?”
Su He turned around to see three people approaching—two women and a man.
The women were wearing gray work uniforms, and the man was dressed in a blue one.
The women were none other than Li Xia and Yu Dandan, whom Su He had encountered on the train. She didn’t recognize the man.
Only then did Su He recall that Li Xia had mentioned during their train ride that they were employees of the Chucheng Textile Factory, here at S-City No.1 Textile Factory for training.
It was Li Xia who had spoken. During their previous encounter, Su He had intentionally stirred up trouble between Li Xia and Yu Dandan, which led to a major argument. But Li Xia, being a bit dim, had quickly been coaxed by Yu Dandan and rekindled their friendship. She now hated Su He, convinced she’d acted maliciously.
Su He had no interest in engaging with Li Xia. Such small-minded troublemakers weren’t worth her time.
She ignored her and continued inspecting the finished products.
Li Xia, after a few snide remarks and getting no response, was about to leave.
That’s when Yu Dandan said to the man, “Team Leader Liu, this Su He has dealt with foreigners before, and she’s not being accompanied by anyone from our factory. Don’t you think that’s a bit… suspicious?”
She didn’t finish the sentence, but the implication was clear: Su He’s intentions were questionable—maybe she was even sent by foreigners to sabotage the factory.
Team Leader Liu, who clearly had feelings for Yu Dandan, immediately turned serious and questioned Su He and Principal Chen:
“How did you get in here? Who let you in? Were you sent by foreigners to sabotage the factory? Come with me to the security office and explain yourselves!”
Yu Dandan looked smug and triumphant.
Of course, she knew that Su He and Principal Chen had official escorts. But based on their positions, the people accompanying them probably weren’t very high up.
So even if it all turned out to be a misunderstanding, she wouldn’t get into trouble—but Su He and the principal would still suffer the humiliation.
Principal Chen frowned and said, “Young man, don’t go throwing around baseless accusations. We came in with someone from the sales department—”
Team Leader Liu interrupted, “Save it for the security office. Move it! If you keep stalling, I won’t be polite!”
He shoved Principal Chen, nearly knocking the elderly man over.
Su He had originally thought this was just some petty farce and hadn’t taken it seriously. But now her expression turned cold and stern.
She pointed at the three of them. “Each of you—don’t think you’re getting away with this today.”
Li Xia trembled slightly, remembering the terrifying “mummy” incident Su He had once forced her into.
She swallowed nervously. “Su—Su He, I didn’t say anything about foreigners. This has nothing to do with me!”
Su He looked at her. “Then you’d better testify in a moment and tell the whole truth. If you do, I’ll let you off. If not, you can say goodbye to your job at Chucheng Textile Factory.”
Yu Dandan frowned. “Li Xia, don’t listen to her nonsense.”
Li Xia hesitated.
Su He sneered. “Li Xia, you’re a college graduate, right? You should at least know right from wrong.
Yes, we have personal issues—but Yu Dandan just accused me of being an enemy agent! Don’t you think that’s dangerous?
What if one day you offend her, and she accuses you of being a traitor too? Your whole family could suffer for it!”
Yu Dandan saw Li Xia wavering and was about to say something when Section Chief Yu returned, having heard the commotion.
“What’s going on here?”
Su He immediately put on a grief-stricken expression. “Section Chief Yu, I was just trying to help connect S-City No.1 Textile Factory with some foreign contacts in good faith, and now Yu Dandan and Team Leader Liu are accusing us of being enemy agents! They were going to drag us to the security office for interrogation.
This so-called team leader—is this the kind of person you appoint to leadership positions?

Second, he abuses his power! He falsely accused us just to suck up to Yu Dandan!

Then, playing along, he clutched his chest with a pained expression.
Section Chief Yu’s brows furrowed. “Liu Dagang, what happened?”
Liu Dagang’s eyes flickered. “Section Chief Yu, I didn’t know they were your guests. I just asked a few questions. It wasn’t nearly as bad as she says.”
Su He coldly turned to Li Xia. “You tell Section Chief Yu what happened.”
Li Xia stammered, “Su He’s telling the truth. Yu Dandan accused her of sabotage, and Team Leader Liu didn’t ask any questions—just tried to drag them to the security office. He even shoved the older gentleman.”
She looked down at her toes and muttered: Wow, my shoes are really pretty.
Su He had dared to threaten even Section Chief Yu—Li Xia figured Su He might actually be able to get her fired.
What choice did she have? She had to pick a side.
Section Chief Yu exploded. “Liu Dagang! What nonsense! You’ll be disciplined for this!”
He turned to Yu Dandan. “You’re from another factory, here for training, right? Well, S-City No.1 Textile Factory doesn’t welcome people like you with malicious intent. Go back to where you came from!”
Yu Dandan turned pale. If she was sent back, she’d probably be in trouble even at Chucheng Textile Factory.
Knowing that Su He wouldn’t show mercy, she turned to Principal Chen, thinking he looked kinder.
“Sir, I wasn’t thinking straight earlier. I apologize. Please, help me speak to Section Chief Yu—don’t let him send me away.”
She thought the principal would go easy on her, but he just clutched his chest and said to Su He, “Little Su, it’s too stuffy in here. I can’t breathe.”
Before Su He could react, Li Xia shot to his side and helped him up. “Sir, let me help you get some air.”
