Chapter 197: Fang Xiaocao: Let’s Go Buy a Car
A Certain Hotel – Presidential Suite
After a full night’s sleep, Fang Xiaocao felt much better. Although her face was still a bit pale, the stabbing pain in her head had disappeared.
Stretching lazily, she got out of bed, took a hot shower, changed into clean clothes from her bag, and stepped out of the inner room—only to see Tom resting on the sofa.
Knowing that many people were after Fang Xiaocao’s life, Tom had moved the sofa right outside her door and guarded her throughout the night.
Hearing the sound of the door opening, Tom flipped over and stood up from the sofa.
“Princess, are you feeling better?” he asked.
“Much better. Thank you for your hard work.” Fang Xiaocao smiled.
“Where are we going, Princess?” Tom asked in a low voice.
Looking at the scruffy Tom, whose once-handsome face was now covered in stubble, Fang Xiaocao chuckled, “Go wash up first. Then, we’ll check out and leave the hotel.”
Tom nodded. “Understood!”
As Tom headed to the outer bathroom, Fang Xiaocao sat on the sofa, analyzing her current situation.
Last night at Villa No. 5, she had subdued Taotie, effectively putting an end to the Blacklist’s pursuit for now. If Capricorn still wanted to assassinate her in Tang City, they would have to rely on Taotie’s forces.
Even if Capricorn chose not to involve Taotie, as a high-ranking Blacklist member, any move within Taotie’s territory would not go unnoticed. This meant Taotie could warn her in time.
For the time being, the threat from the Blacklist was neutralized.
But that didn’t mean she was safe!
The Blacklist wasn’t her only enemy.
There was also Han Xue from Nemesis.
And within her so-called “bestie group,” someone seemed to possess the ability to foresee the future—a person who had been plotting to get close to her and take her life.
Not to mention the mysterious “Thousand Faces” within the Blacklist, another potential threat lurking in the shadows.
Then there was the connection between the Zhi Corporation and the Blacklist, including the secrets surrounding Zhi Qi—something she needed to uncover.
That part wouldn’t be too difficult.
Once Taotie recovered and met up with her, she could get answers directly from him.
Taking out her phone, Fang Xiaocao opened her notes app and began typing.
- Bestie Group – Top priority. Two potential threats were hiding among them, requiring constant vigilance.
- Assassins – These relentless killers were likely linked to someone from her bestie group.
- Nemesis and Han Xue – According to Tom, Han Xue held a low status in Nemesis, even to the point of being bullied.
- Blacklist and the Police – Thanks to the fake rumor Tom had spread on the dark web, Nemesis was now being targeted by both the Blacklist and law enforcement.
- Survival Strategy – Instead of running and hiding, it was better to find a suitable location to fight off her enemies.
With a plan forming in her mind, Fang Xiaocao decided to look for a house—something in a secluded area, like a standalone villa or a self-built house in the suburbs.
Such a place would be ideal for combat.
Even if she had to kill someone, she’d have enough time to handle the aftermath without worrying about the police catching her red-handed.
Before long, she found the perfect place—a four-story standalone villa with a basement at the foot of a mountain in the outskirts.
“This is the one!”
As she finalized her choice, Tom, now looking fresh and clean, stood before her.
“Princess, I’m ready.”
“Alright, let’s check out,” Fang Xiaocao said with a smile.
She led the way out of the room, while Tom followed behind, carrying her bag like a loyal bodyguard.
Downstairs, Tom handled the check-out while Fang Xiaocao fine-tuned her plan.
Apart from buying the villa, she also needed a car.
Her red Land Rover had been taken by Zhi Qi’s group and never returned.
Even if they gave it back, she wouldn’t dare drive it—who knew if they had tampered with the brakes?
“Not just a car. I need a motorcycle too,” she muttered to herself.
Tom soon returned. “Princess, we’re all set.”
“Great. Let’s go buy a car!”
A small second-hand car market was nearby, making it a convenient stop.
It wasn’t that she couldn’t afford a new car, but second-hand vehicles were more cost-effective—considering her risky lifestyle, it wouldn’t hurt as much if they got damaged in battle.
At the market, Fang Xiaocao quickly spotted her ideal choices:
- A black Audi A6.
- A white Audi Q5.
After checking the conditions and prices, she swiftly made the payment.
Forty thousand bucks later—plus some extra for fast paperwork—she and Tom each drove off in their own cars.
As they left the market, Fang Xiaocao called the real estate agent selling the villa and arranged to meet at the property.
Nemesis, your move.
