Xie Mi let out a sorrowful sigh. Rarely speechless, she pulled out a band-aid from her pocket and carefully stuck it onto the scrape on the back of his hand.
She was focused, but when she looked up, she found Shen Yaoqing staring straight at her.
Those eyes, already dangerously enchanting, carried an emotion she couldn’t quite read.
But in just one second, it melted into laughter filling his gaze.
“Teacher Xie, are you my guardian angel?”
“You guess?”

She suddenly remembered the wish Shen Yaoqing had written on his note.

Once they all entered, she slowly peeked her head out, flashing a mischievous grin.

She suddenly realized the mascot costume she borrowed was from Luckin Coffee!

[Local here to explain: there are two shops at this supermarket entrance, Mixue and Luckin. Their mascots fight every day]
Snow King stood with its hands on its hips, shaking its big butt at her.
Enough was enough!
Xie Mi launched a flying kick, then started pummeling Snow King with the mascot’s stubby hands.
Snow King got angry, grabbed her short arms, and threw her over its shoulder!
Xie Mi countered, tripping it to the ground and wrapping her legs around it in a chokehold.
Snow King used “Bear Paw Smash, Cat Lands on Feet, Tornado Kick!”
Xie Mi countered with “Scythe Sweep, Crow Takes Flight!”
Neither side’s employees bothered with their shifts anymore. They rushed out to cheer for their mascots and launch verbal attacks at each other.
Mixue staff: “Mixue Ice City, sweet and sweet, Luckin Coffee is bitter and bleak!”
Luckin staff: “Drink Mixue Ice City, taste a wasted life.”
Mixue staff: “Global warming is because Luckin dug up all the Antarctic ice!”
Luckin staff: “You’ve got a Mixue boba pearl stuck up your nose.”

When Shen Yaoqing came out, this was the scene he saw:
Two mascots wildly brawling on the ground, while staff from both stores hurled insults at each other on the sidelines.

She was about to toss the stuff on the table when someone beat her to it — Shen Yaoqing.
He replaced them with Coke and chips in her arms.
Xie Mi’s eyes lit up.
Her favorites: Original Lay’s and Pepsi!
Xiao Jingxi immediately tried to seize the moral high ground. “Fried food and soda are the quickest way to gain weight. She never eats these.”
“Is that so? You seem to know her well, Film Emperor Xiao?” Shen Yaoqing smiled playfully.
Xiao Jingxi froze, realizing he’d slipped. He quickly covered, “I guessed. Female celebrities have to control their diet, so I assumed she did too.”
“Then you guessed wrong.” Shen Yaoqing raised an eyebrow and looked at Xie Mi.
Xiao Jingxi also looked over.
And what they saw was…
Xie Mi munching chips and chugging Pepsi with sheer delight. In just a few bites, she finished a whole bag, then raised her hand and shouted:
“Another one!”
“Of course.”
Shen Yaoqing smiled with infinite gentleness, then placed a full bag of snacks and drinks on the table — everything Xie Mi loved.
