Chapter 461: The Blue Dragon Taihe Sword
As Ye Lu finished speaking, the faces of several princes in the room changed again!
Ye Junshuo, sitting on the dragon throne, was even more surprised, but soon his face was filled with joy.
Two hundred thousand taels of gold was no small sum. Even as the Son of Heaven, if he desired a sword, and he had to spend two hundred thousand taels of gold from his private treasury to buy it, he would definitely consider and hesitate for a while.
If this sword was truly worth two hundred thousand taels of gold, it must be an exceptional weapon, which is why Ye Lu’s son was willing to spend such a large sum.
Such a fine treasure—if he also liked it, even as the emperor, he wouldn’t be able to lower his face to ask his son for it.
But Ye Junshuo never expected that the sword, which several princes had just called an extravagant item, was now being given to him by Ye Lu!
Ye Junshuo was deeply moved, and even more excited to see the sword worth two hundred thousand taels of gold that was bought at the auction in the sealed city!
“Haha, I didn’t expect Lord Lyu to be so benevolent and filial. It seems that I and your royal brother misunderstood you. But no matter what, you still need to correct your past prideful and extravagant behavior. I must see what the sword your royal brothers are talking about, the one worth two hundred thousand taels, looks like.”
Holding the black iron sword in his hand, Ye Junshuo felt an impulse to curse!
Could it be that Xiahou Feng knew his plans, and that’s why he suddenly came up with such a bizarre, unbelievable story?
“Your Majesty, please forgive me for my earlier rudeness. I was too emotional when I saw this sword because it is the personal item of my older brother, whom I haven’t seen in over ten years.”
“Indeed.”
Ye Junshuo, with his great achievements and holding the power of two hundred thousand soldiers, was an unparalleled leader on the battlefield, even in his middle age.
The personal eunuch, holding the box with both hands, respectfully presented it to Ye Junshuo. Ye Junshuo then tried to calm his emotions, rising from the dragon throne, pulling up the sleeve of his grand robe, and unlocking the wooden box.
Because this sword, apart from the color of the gemstone being different, was identical to the black iron sword Ye Lu had seen at the auction!
“A good sword, a good sword! Truly worthy of the two hundred thousand taels of gold it was bought for. It’s entirely forged from black iron—truly rare.”
If Yu Luo were present, she would definitely think the sword looked familiar.
The jet-black sword’s handle contained a large blue gemstone, which was so brilliant that no other colorful stones could compare.
The sword was placed in a nearly two-meter-long carved box made of huanghuali wood. Ye Lu respectfully presented it to Ye Junshuo, who took it from the eunuch.
“May I ask, Lord Lu, was there another sword, identical to this black iron sword, auctioned with it? But with a yellow gemstone in the handle?”
Even though he didn’t finish his sentence, everyone could guess the fate of Xiahou Feng’s older brother.
Excited, Xiahou Feng suddenly stood up in front of the officials, forgetting his position, and stumbled toward the center of the hall.
As he spoke, Ye Junshuo could no longer contain his excitement and took the sword out of the box.
When Ye Junshuo finished speaking, the princes, who had been irritated by Ye Lu stealing the spotlight, instantly perked up!
Ye Lu, too, was in a daze, his gaze falling on Xiahou Feng’s face, which was even more excited than his father’s, and his smile faded.
Hearing the emperor’s question, Xiahou Feng gradually calmed down and hurriedly cupped his hands in salute to Ye Junshuo.
Xiahou Feng’s voice choked, and he could not continue.
“Now, this Blue Dragon Taihe Sword has been widely advertised by the people from the sealed city for an auction, and my older brother…”
“Indeed, that’s the case. However, the two swords were auctioned in two different sessions. During the first auction, I saw the black iron sword with the yellow gemstone, but it was snatched away. This one was from the second auction, and I was lucky enough to win it.”
“That’s it, that’s it! The two black iron swords were originally a pair. I recognized it right away because this sword was specially made by my father when my brother was fifteen, specifically for him. My brother was a martial arts prodigy since childhood, and my father had high hopes for him. Unfortunately, after my brother turned eighteen, he wandered the martial world and rarely returned home.”
“This… this is my brother’s… the Blue Dragon Taihe Sword!”
Xiahou Feng’s reaction and his words made the ecstatic expression on Ye Junshuo’s face freeze for a moment, and then his brow furrowed, immediately becoming guarded against Xiahou Feng.
Ye Junshuo didn’t want to offend such a subject, but he couldn’t bear to part with the sword in his hands!
Ye Lu, on the other hand, was even more troubled, as he had hoped to use this sword to secure his lifelong happiness!
At this point, Xiahou Feng couldn’t help but his eyes redden.
Seeing how much Xiahou Feng understood, Ye Lu was even more bewildered!
Just one glance, and the previously calm and steady Ye Junshuo could no longer suppress his joy!
Without thinking, Ye Lu immediately responded, but Xiahou Feng’s face became even more serious.
Xiahou Feng turned to Ye Lu, who was still in a state of confusion, and asked, “May I ask, Lord Lyu, is this sword really from the sealed city auction?”
As the box opened, a pitch-black long sword lay inside.
“What do you mean, King Zhan Nan?”
Ye Lu was stunned!
Ye Junshuo was even more shocked!
This was a black iron sword, so what did Xiahou Feng mean?
Was he trying to steal the gift that my son had given me?
Little did they know, the most stunned person in the room was Xiahou Feng!
Ye Junshuo finished speaking, and Ye Lu, smiling, called his subordinates to present the sword.
“Your Majesty…”
The pitch-black sword seemed to emit a faint cold light, and it was clear that it was no ordinary item.
At this thought, Ye Lu’s face became even more displeased.
“King Zhan Nan, I won this sword at the sealed city auction for two hundred thousand taels of gold… and you…”
Ye Lu almost wanted to say, “Are you trying to suddenly step in and ‘claim your heritage’?”
Seeing that Ye Lu had clearly misunderstood his intentions, Xiahou Feng quickly waved his hands in a panic.
“Lord Lyu, please don’t misunderstand. I was just… just too surprised. After all, my brother would never have sold this sword to the sealed city. I am just worried that something might have happened to him.”
Hearing this, Ye Lu sighed in relief, but Ye Junshuo was now also in a dilemma.
