Road Survival: My Hearse Comes with Purification – CH113

Sudden Death

Chapter 113: Sudden Death

With that said, the middle-aged man, Big Roll, excitedly pulled out a Teleportation Talisman. “Hehe, speak of the devil. I was just thinking about striking it rich, and a fat sheep delivers herself right to my door!”

“Rich lady, here I come.”

However, ten seconds passed, and he was still sitting in his driver’s seat. His Teleportation Talisman hadn’t reacted at all.

In their private group chat, the others were experiencing the exact same issue.

[Wallflower]: Holy shit, this fat sheep used an Anti-Tracking Talisman. We can’t pinpoint her location.

[Big Roll]: So what do we do now?

[Qing Qi]: Go to the public chat hall and tag her. Tell her to be smart and deliver the supplies to us herself.

The group immediately headed to the public chat hall to find Jiangzhehu Inheritor. Big Roll focused entirely on the scrolling messages on his light screen, occasionally typing a quick reply. He was completely unaware that his lane had quietly widened, and a red hearse was rapidly approaching him.

“Hello. Could you step out of your car so we can talk? Just ten minutes.”

It wasn’t until a clear female voice rang right by his ear that the man finally looked up at his window.

Beside him drove a massive, double-layered armored combat vehicle, built for both offense and defense, proudly displaying a hearse sign. Even more terrifying, a huge jade-green coffin was suspended in the air, floating right above it. The hearse drove parallel to his car, acting like a solid, moving wall that blocked his view entirely.

Sitting by the passenger window of the hearse was a tall woman with a high ponytail, dressed in a sleek combat suit. She waved at him casually.

Big Roll’s heart skipped a beat—a Level 5 vehicle!

A player with a Level 5 vehicle had quietly entered their zone, and nobody had noticed.

Before he could react, the massive red hearse sharply cut in front of him. Big Roll instinctively slammed on the brakes, bringing his car to a screeching halt.

After his initial panic faded, his first thought was to quickly report this news to his team and his boss. However, before he could even speak, the woman was already standing outside his window. Her commanding presence inspired an involuntary sense of fear, and her voice carried a sharp chill.

“Don’t try to tip them off. I just want to talk to you.”

Big Roll stared at Lin Huai warily, his voice trembling slightly. “Who are you? You aren’t from our zone. Why did you come here?”

Lin Huai stood calmly on the highway. A protective aura of Yin energy radiated from the floating coffin, keeping the wandering low-level ghouls at bay. Standing safely within this protective field with her arms crossed, she gestured for the man.

“Step out, and I’ll tell you.”

It was still snowing heavily outside. Even wearing his thickest down jacket, Big Roll felt the biting cold. Looking at the lightly dressed woman in front of him, a flash of envy crossed his eyes. In their entire zone, only Qing Qi owned a temperature-controlled suit, and he had stolen it from another player.

Watching the heavily bundled man trudge through the thick snow as he stepped out, Lin Huai smiled faintly. “Hello, my name is Bone Ashes Mixed with Rice. I heard you possess a special item—a very large bronze cauldron. Is that right? May I see it?”

Big Roll’s eyes widened in shock. “Bone Ashes Mixed with Rice? You’re the server-wide rank one player? That’s impossible. How could you be in our zone?”

Lin Huai didn’t feel the need to prove her identity to him. She simply repeated her question. “The bronze cauldron. Do you have it?”

Hearing the mention of his bronze cauldron again, the man finally snapped back to reality, though he remained highly cautious. He frowned. “Why do you want to see my cauldron? Are you here to rob me?”

As he spoke, he discreetly opened his light screen and sent a distress signal to the rest of his syndicate.

Lin Huai clearly saw what he was doing, but she didn’t stop him. This kind of person wasn’t a good fit for Zone 444 anyway. There was no need to recruit him. She just looked at the man and chuckled softly.

“It’s fine if you don’t want to show it to me. I just needed to confirm that you actually had it.” She smiled. “After all, it will drop all the same once you’re dead.”

As soon as she said those words, Big Roll felt a sharp surge of murderous intent. He knew this encounter wouldn’t end peacefully. Without hesitation, he drew his weapon and lunged, hoping to strike first and kill Lin Huai.

However, Lin Huai showed no intention of fighting back physically. She stood perfectly still, calmly pulling a blank card from her backpack. Clicking her pen, she raised her eyes to glance at the space above the charging man’s head, and then wrote his true name in the first column of the card.

This was one of the blank death certificates Sister Hanba had given her, and Lin Huai was eager to test its effects. She had already filled in the time and cause of death in advance; now, all she had to do was fill in the target’s name.

The moment the final stroke of his name was written, the man suddenly clutched his chest. He dropped to his knees in the snow, violently coughing up a mouthful of fresh blood. His body pitched forward stiffly, burying face-first into the deep snowbanks.

Right up to his last breath, he had no idea how he had been killed. He died in sheer terror, his eyes wide open in absolute disbelief.

Lin Huai raised an eyebrow, glancing down at the cause of death she had specified. “I wrote ‘sudden death.’ Why did he cough up blood?”

She walked forward and tossed a Boundary Breaking Talisman onto his body. Instantly, all the supplies stored in the man’s inventory spilled out into the snow. Sure enough, the massive bronze cauldron was among the pile.

Teleportation Talismans had strict time limits, so Lin Huai didn’t have the luxury to inspect the loot closely. She quickly gathered all the spilled supplies, claimed his vehicle, and prepared to leave. Before departing, she made sure to collect the man’s corpse as well. A body tied to an official death certificate had to be delivered to the Crematorium.

But the moment she teleported back to her own highway, a group of pursuers tracked her location and arrived immediately.

Lin Huai glanced in her rearview mirror. “Perfect. That saves me a few Teleportation Talismans. The ones who are supposed to die are delivering themselves right to my doorstep.”

Six enemies had arrived in total. She only had four blank death certificates left in her inventory, which wasn’t enough for the whole group. She would have to eliminate them the old-fashioned way.

Seeing the six vehicles behind her closing in to form a pincer trap, Lin Huai didn’t speed up to escape. Instead, she sharply swung her steering wheel around. The massive hearse carved a tight arc across the snow-covered road and charged head-on toward her pursuers.

“Yellow Springs Road Guide, prepare the firepower net! Golden Light Cannon activated—fire!” Qing Qi’s hoarse, furious command echoed through the enemy syndicate’s communicators.

However, when the ruby-red hearse ahead of them didn’t attempt to dodge, but instead accelerated straight into their formation, the drivers of the two Level 3 vehicles in the enemy squad panicked.

“Boss! That’s a Level 5 vehicle! We’ll be crushed into scrap metal if we hit it head-on!”

“What are you so afraid of?!” Qing Qi’s voice was completely distorted by rage. “I’m driving a Level 5 too! I’ll take her from the front; you two flank her from the sides!”

Before he had even finished shouting, he smashed the launch button. The cannon mounted on his roof spat a bright flash of flames, and clusters of scorching fire erupted across the snowy highway.

But in the very next second, a massive jade-green coffin defiantly burst through the curtain of fire. Like a vengeful spirit charging out of hell, it slammed heavily into Qing Qi’s armored vehicle!

A lone figure stood proudly atop the flying coffin. The violent wind and snow whipped her high ponytail wildly. A strangely shaped, long scythe rested in her grip, crackling with arcs of purple lightning. She even flashed a bright smile and waved at the enemy drivers, looking as relaxed as if she were out for a casual stroll.

Boom!

With a deafening crash, Qing Qi’s vehicle was instantly flipped into the air. It rolled violently across the road, carving a long trail of bright sparks and shattered ice through the snow.

Because he had never bothered to wear his seatbelt, the sheer force of the impact launched him straight through his shattered windshield. He crashed heavily into a deep snowbank by the side of the road. He twitched and struggled twice, and then finally went completely still.
